Title: Scene it? Official Berserk Picture Game!
Post by: Oburi on May 11, 2009, 09:32:59 AM
Think you know the manga like the back of your hand? Test your Berserk memory here!

Ok guys here is how it goes- You need to name the episode, page number, and panel of the given picture. If you are correct on all accounts then you in turn must post a picture or part of a picture from a scene in any volume of Berserk that you think will be difficult for others to locate. No scanlations, obviously. I'll start it off.

Ok tell me where this good looking fella came from. And remember, you must pinpoint the exact location of the images!

You guys have fun with that, I won't post in the thread so that others can participate.

OK Oburi here I go. I knew it was from Volume 13, so I had to go and search. Is it from Episode 80, page 17 first panel on the right?
If I am right, then try to find this one.

This does seem like fun.  For that first one I first thought of this thing:

For the one I'm supposed to answer now, it's Puck's helmet.  I don't know the episode, but I know it's vol 19, page 222.

That is the night of miracles episode (second episode of volume 17), page 17, 4th panel (last one on the page).

When you say no scanlations, do you mean that we just can't show their translated text or that we that the images we use have to come from our own physical copies of the books? I do have volumes 1-29 and a scanner but I don't want to risk creasing the spine.

No scanlations just means that you need to erase the text, from wherever you get your images, since the site doesn't support scanlations. And as far as that image from volume 17 goes, it wasn't really part of the game, she was just pointing that out.

I'll try and start this up again. Well to be fair, I'd wanted to for a long time, but fuck me I couldn't find Darky's picture for the life or me.

Alas, here it is in volume six, Departure for the Front. (http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/1787/berserkv06156.jpg)

See those farmers in the upper left corner way in the background. Yea, neither did I even after re-reading that part. Damn you DarKlink!

Okay here's mine, keeping it reasonable.

That spread is gorgeous.  Darklink is a tricky bastard.

Would love to chime in, that looks awfully familiar but I can't recall the volume it's from off hand.  I'll look into it tonight!

Maybe more folks would join in if you posted more than one option to guess at?

If my warmup already left some flustered, I might have to shelve some of the truly evil ones I had planned. :guts:

Anyway, kudos to Sarcomere for finally answering it, and a valiant effort of her own with that panel from volume 18, episode 143, page 228, in the upper right corner. :griffnotevil:

My turn:

Yeah, I'm drawing a blank on it.  I have little to no idea where to start looking because there's very little in terms of surroundings.  Griffith, when I win...(oneday) I'm going to crop a picture of an ear out of one of those huge army scenes..just for you. ; )

Well if you guys really can't find it I'll tell you (since everybody's been asking me). :iva:

I think it's still pretty easy (Dar Klink's one from volume 6 that I revealed to Oburi was a bit harder, IMHO), although to be fair, Griff should have warned you that he mirrored the image and erased what was around the feet.

Comparing a beautiful, unique monster to a pair of white feet? I think there are hundreds of feet that look just like those in volume 15 alone.

And what Oburi did at the inauguration was one of those little things that he does, and we usually excuse, because he's a special boy. In your case it's plain evil.

Hah, Nice one.  Flipping should so be against the rules. :guts: Or alternatively you could look through with the book flipped upside down.  Hah, take that you! Plans have been foiled.

Woot, first post! Hi fellow berserk fans!

That pic was an easy one: Volume 18, episode 141, page 64.  :slan:
(I only have the German volumes, so excuse the pageno or volume, if they're wrong. My Berserk mangas include 2 volumes but page numbers and episode numbers aren't printed)

The volume # is the number of the book, the episode # is the number of the episode in the series, and the page # is the page number within that particular book.

I think he means the numbers don't match the image location, likely due to the aforementioned publication differences, since it's in neither volume 9 or 18 of the Japanese or English volumes.
