I don't know what to think of it.

Do you guys really like the red skin? It's my last chance to get one, but I'm not sure if it's worth with this color

Guts looking great, however too much color on the sword to the point that it looks gross.

I may get it. Still thinking.

These guys need to get the fucking faces right.

That`s exactly what I thought when I watched the clip. That`s just lazy on their part , but since this is their "last" ( :troll:) repainting of this statue I guess they didn't want to fiddle with the face sculpt. I am not a big fan of the red parts of his body - is his torso soaked in blood? It definitely looks different , but I think that they emphasized a little too much on the red colour ,which serves more like a distraction from the armour.

The face is definitely weird, good thing there's a helmet :iva:

Do you guys really like the red skin?

I don't like it, even more if you were to compare it with the original or Black versions.

How many 20th anni. Pieces are out there on total?

Anything else?

100 x Exclusive ver.1 (Bloodstained armor) Code No. 194

2 x Exclusive Version 2 (without blood effects) Code No. 195

10 x 20th Anniversary Statue Code No. 222

30 x Euro Version Code No. 234

2 x Black Version Code No. 238

There may have been more (maybe at their auctions), I'm not sure but this is what I could gather from AOW's website.

Well, i am sure that euro version = 50 ex! It was a special repaint for the official european AOW retrailer (cyril M.)!

The black version = 30 ex + 2 ex for berserk anime special offer in the begenning of 2011!

I thinks this repaint is bullshit, the black version is fa superior...

I won t use this word ('bullshit') but i really don t like this repaint....

As you said, the black version is probably the most beautiful repaint of the 20th anniversary model :slan:

However, it s a good way to catch this statue for those who don t have this model!

I DISAGREE, black version looks weird because of the green skin. Also, the original bloodless was either limited to 50 or 100 I dont know why they changed it on the site, I couldn't have been the only one who bought it (well someone else did too).
I don't know what to think of this to be honest, the red is a bit much, but the color of the armor is great also, I am a big fan of this helmet version (originally sculpted for the "euro version").
I really don't like the color of the cape and the sword is way too bloody, so its a no go for me.

I'd buy a bloodless euro version 100% since its a goddamn great sculpt.

But seriously, isnt next year or so the 25th anniversary? Just make a 1/4th version of the "headlong" statue, I'd be all over that!

I DISAGREE, black version looks weird because of the green skin.

Do you speak about guts's skin? The skin of guts has been painted like this in order to preserve the dark tone of the whole statue (From AOW : Guts' face is painted in a darker color to give the effect of a shadow, thus enhancing a sense of unity and authenticity). But there is an another normal head.

There is also some green color but you don t see it and the result is Awesome. I saw the european version and the Exclusive version I and IN MY OPINION, Black version is really much beautiful!  :iva:

It s the same color of the Black Version  :slan:

Ah, I thought it looked green... My bad :griffnotevil:
My favourite version would be the original non blood version except I am not a fan of that helmet design.
I asked AoW for a non blood replacement of the helmet only but they didn't do it.
I am not a fan of these blood soaked swords they keep coming up with, its too much and too thick IMO

THIS is how I want a bloody sword to look like instead (also done by AoW).

I totally agree about the sword being too bloody, too clogged somehow...and the red under the armor is too bright just like the egg shell on the latest femto (is this lollipop-red-theme their new "thing" or what). Though, it almost looks a bit like burnt flesh, so if you look at it that way its kinda cool, I guess.

Either way, looks like they've left me no choice here since its the last repaint. I keep telling myself I'll be satisfied once I got it on my shelf. Anyway, my favourite is the "8th repaint" version where the gushing blood is the most visible, limited to 10 peices.

ABOUT the 20th! :beast: :mozgus: :mozgus: :mozgus: :mozgus: :mozgus: :mozgus:

100 pieces made, Ver. 1 w.blood + daiba attachment   Normal helmet  80000yen
100 pieces made, Ver. 2 no Blood                             Normal helmet  70000yen
(With blood + 5000yen, with daiba statue + 5000yen)
---------------------------------------------------
0 pieces made,   8th repaint ver.    LOTS of blood      Normal helmet  90000yen
(Those 10 pieces are from the cancellation of the original 200 statues, they are NOT newly made, just repaints of the old stock. Also they steep up the price at this point... ... 20th with a LOT of blood should cost only 80000yen however they raise the bar by another 10000yen. )
---------------------------------------------------
50 pieces made  Euro ver.  blood. Sharp Wolf helmet.     90000yen.
(EXACTLY the same paint job as the exclusive bloody version 1, wolfeye helmet, if u want a wolfeye helmet 90000yen is the only option, and yes the JPD is raised so every single statue from here up u are looking at 1300$ shipped)
---------------------------------------------------
30 pieces made BLACK ver.  blood running down to base, wolfeye helmet. 90000yen
(Great paint job, sharp wolf helmet, the inner clothes becomes green, the cape gets a lot of paint details and blood is going more natually, armors looking great, tons attentions are painted here and there, one of the best 20th statue made)
---------------------------------------------------
50 pieces made  Final repaint ver. lots blood, wolfeye helmet, 90000yen
(Best paint job the other way around, i actually like the red inner, the armor looks brighter/sharper than the black version, with green paints on sword/body/base now, and golden 20th logo)
---------------------------------------------------
So on total there are about 330 pieces of 20th anni. berserk in the world, consider owning one Very VERY lucky especially if u own EURO/BLACK/Last repaint Vers. Those three are the most valuable vers around.  :troll:

I don't understand why so many are more excited by the helmet of the euro version, it's not even faithful. The helmet on the first version was much better on that point, in my opinion.

it lasted three years but finally the 20th anniversary commemoration it's over!!  :ganishka:

I totally agree!

I think it's all down to taste, but imho there's no contest... the "first press" is the best.. :daiba: The color choices and paint-job are simply top-notch!
The 8th repaint project seems rather a paint-over, too much blood, while the black version loses lots of shading on the armor and the blood application is really nothing special.
This last repaint seems outstanding but the color of the inner of the armor and again the "euro helmet" are a bit forced for my taste.
Anyhow, there is something to suit everyone.

lastly a sad observation... the original one was about 700 EUR shipped. Now, with the relentless rise of JPY, 1000 EUR (or 1300$) are not enough... :judo:

Well they originally released 200 statues... ...All 130 added ones has a different helmet design. Whatever you perfer, it is totally up to you, but for the total amount they made, these are some of the truly RARE statues. (look at sideshow, their limited edition is at 2000~5000 pieces mark most of the time... ...not mention of the 330 20th guts there're SIX different variants.)

Well, i am sure that euro version = 50 ex! It was a special repaint for the official european AOW retrailer (cyril M.)!

HOLD ON a minute... ...?

http://www.art-of-war.co.jp/english/items/detail.php?gid=302

Questions,

1. if that EURO ver. is offered to European AOW retailer (Cyril), how come you can still see this ver. listed on AOW japanese webside? I know the Gyakko Euro ver, the zodd on horse Euro ver. and Guts on horse Kolektakon ver. all have no info/release info in AOW japanese/USA webside.

2. HOW COME on the AOW webside it says limited 30 pieces WORLDWIDE ? How many pieces are carried by AOW and how many pieces are carried by CYRIL( Euro retailer)? Brother Where you get that number, 50 pieces world wide stardustgazu? From cyril himself?

4. HOW COME the euro ver. 's name plate has NO serial number on it? like from #1 to # 30? And does it actually includes the Daiba mini figure? I believe Cyril says no but the offiicial AOW webside says yes?

The number '50 limited worldwide' was put on berserk statues info!

The best is to ask info directly to Art OF War! It isn t a secret... But AOW knows the answers!

Euro version has got a serial number plate!

You really will change ur mind when u get that last repaint on hand... ... Did you ever pay attention on the details and intensities of this piece? It has the most shadow/blood work above all 20th... ... Also guts berserk armor bathed in blood to the point inner clothes are in bloody color is a soul screaming way to represent "berserk"  :guts:... .... You gonna shoot yourself in the head if u ever let go of this piece.

You gonna shoot yourself in the head if u ever let go of this piece.

Yeah I know it looks epic and I´ll treasure it like it´d be my very own offspring, but what makes me like the old ones even more is as simple as the shape of the helmet, seriously make a comparison and dare tell me you honestly like the newer design more... simplest little detail, yet a very defining one. Plus just look at those blood effects on the 8th re-paint, it kicks the last re-paint´s ass SO bad....not that I´d ever expect anyone to come forth and be willing to let it go... I´d expect that person would starve to death before selling it :iva:

Dude I don't have to see I used to owned the exclusive 1 with daiba and I sold it.  I knew exactly how that statue looks. And I can tell u on the face now the last repaint is far better painting wise.  The pics of the ex.1 does show some crazy nice effects but in person the real production model of ex.1 is not as good as the phototype one. It is still awesome but the wolf helmet is definitely looking better as a whole(and rarer/more valuable). Not that I don't like the exclusive 1 but since guts having one of his eyes blind when look through that big eye hole from certain angle it is such a meeeh. The 8th repaint I never see in person so i donno how that one actually looks but that piece for sure is the most valuable one as it only released like what 10pieces? Nothing is rarer than that.... ...maybe guts on horse repaint but that repaint is really a bs.

BEST NEW YEARRRR PRESENTTTT AARRR ARRRR ARRRRHHHHH :beast: :beast: :beast:

On the outter slip it says 201, it proofed my theory that the 8th repaint is the left over stock of the original 200, so EURO ver. has plate number 201~250.

On the actual wood plate mine is number 236... kinda wierd. but since i got 236 i can savely saying that euro ver. is limited to 50 pieces.

I SOLD my exclusive ver.1 now im ended up with EURO, oh lord I know im crazy:

Congrats Andrew!!! Great pics, I love my Euro version. You really captured the blood details in your pics. It doesn't matter what version we have, they all are equally bad ass. I have a second upper helmet part I bought from yahoojapan, I've been meaning to mod it a bit, to make the Z eyes stick out a bit more instead of the painted paper I'm currently using.

^Please post some pics of yours as well, if you havent already.

Dude I don't have to see...
Hmm, you might be right, Im still undecided though since I´ve never seen any 20th anniv. in person myself, but soon...very soon :beast:

And congrats on the Euro vers. man! After seeing those close-ups of the blood effects I definitely appreciate this version more, thanks.

I am so jealous!! I haven't even had the chance to see one in person, and you have had a total of three. So lucky my friend. Those pics are great, blood effects look amazing. Euro version-wow!

On the actual wood plate mine is number 236... kinda wierd. but since i got 236 i can savely saying that euro ver. is limited to 50 pieces.

Congrats on the purchase! Have you asked the seller how the number-switch may have happened? Because now, either the person who has 201 has a box that says 236 or the numbering on your box was done erroneously. Btw, Zodd's riding the DS in that second picture heh.

I donno but i wont bother. The seller told me this is his last piece. I dont care as long as the name plate/outter box is even there im happy.

I was so excited to see the number 201 woopping on my face and when i opened the box the plate says 236... ...

And yea bro zodd on horse is a really underated, amazing statue. I really like him and he is so beautifully done.

When i get my last re-paint on hand i will do a side by side comparison, for you folks to do the judge. :guts:

^looking forward to that! :guts:

Btw would be SOOO awesome if there was a nerd god out there that owned all the version or like 3 or 4 at least and made some side by side shots :guts: (oh Im such a day dreamer :iva:)

And that numbering issue, whatta weird incident, such bad luck, I could totally imagine something like that happening to me - the way you describe it with your anticipation and all  My condolences, dude.

My camera doesnt reflect the real color of this piece. It is the same color of the black ver. plus blood effects all over the armor to the bone. The inner clothes are dark, deep bloody red. You really have to own it to appreciate it. I'm still looking at it after half an hour.

I'm speechless. Berserker should look like this, from the begining.

As for the which ver. is better, i personally like last repaint more. The paint is completely different from my EURO ver. head to toe so it is worth keeping both.. ... I'm keeping both anyway.

Without a doubt. This is the only statue in my collection I want a double of. I have some Sideshow, Cinemaqutte, Hot Toys etc.....this statue outclasses them all. The paint, the fine details, it's just amazing in person. Kicking myself in the ass for second guessing this latest version, when I came to my senses, it already sold out.

Post by: Diaz on February 07, 2013, 06:28:37 PM
I recieved mine yesterday and I just had a chance to open it.  It is freakin AWESOME but its not without its faults.    I have the black version and what made me decide to get this is the red on the inner armor, nice and bright which stood out the most.  BUT looking at it in person it fell short of brightness, looks more black than red. Second as you will see with the pictures you can't really tell he has blood on his armor unless you're right next to it, and I only noticed the blood because of the flash from my phone. IMO Art of War should have made the blood on his armor a little bit more brighter, it doesn't even look like blood.  Dont get me wrong this is still an awesome statue and its huge. Oh and sorry about some of the pics I'm not an expert at taking pictures.

yep you are right, i actually found it very difficult to photograph because it tends to look lighter in photos, and i wanted to represent the color accurately but i couldn't,, anyways I'm still toying with my camera and trying to learn how to take good photos, i hope i can post some more photos that can reflect the true color, by the way for those who have this statue have you realize that the upper color of the statue is different from the lower part, the upper part is darker and has a more matte finish than the lower part, or is it just mine??

Nice photo ! Unfortunately none of the photos so far reflects the true color of this piece.... In human eye the armor is gross dark black with no light reflection.

Great detail through.

Best version ever

Which version is this? What's with that red eye on the helmet??
Title: Re: 20th Anniversary Model- The Last Repainting Version
Post by: andrewdsz on July 15, 2014, 03:20:34 AM
That is the black ver.  30 pieces ww.

That red eyes are custom made piece of red paper stuck into the helmet by the owner.

That ver. Has pos and cons IMO. Last ver. Has Inner red armor( IMO better looking and stand out more) and better colored base. Blk ver. Has better blood effect over the body.

All six versions of this model are extremely good and with their uniqueness.

100 pieces. 1st ver. Is with in-control eyes, blood effect and the most important daiba attachment. However looks ugly from certain angels when u see through that blind eye of guts.

100 pieces 2nd ver. Is the only non-blood ver.  The cheapest ver. Nothing special.

10 pieces 3rd ver. Is the 8th repaint project, tons thick blood over the body, some ppl think it is too fake.

50 pieces 4th euro ver.  With same paints as the first ver. But changed wolf eye helmet. Too bad no daiba and with steep price increase.

30 pieces 5th ver. Is blk ver.  Good blood effect but overall too dark and not much color differences.

50 pieces 6th ver. Last ver. Good inner red armor and base, blood effect can not see well from faraway.

340 pieces of this model on total.

I have collected slightly different information over the years, but the story of berserk 20th ann. statue is a mess... The most "used and abused" Art of War statue of all time, I guess. Different releases, different edition sizes, different paints... almost impossible to keep track of the exact total number.

1- Berserk - commemoration statue of the 20th anniversary Exclusive ver.1 Bloodstained armor (Code No. 194)
http://www.art-of-war.co.jp/english/items/detail.php?gid=255

3 - Berserk 20th Anniversary Model Euro version
(berserk-statue.fr European web exclusive, not listed on ART OF WAR website. berserk-statue.fr was closed about one year later and from its ashes was born Tsume Art )
original price: about 800 euro. (I don't remember exactly)
Attachment: interchangeable head, serial Number plate N.201-250
released: November 2009

4 - 8th Repainting Project- BERSERK 20th Anniversary Statue (Code No. 222)

I actually squeezed a tear, you are so nice lad!
I always have some spare cash for situations like this, and I was hoping for Christmas present from AoW. Maybe next year, then!

Upd. I just got mail confirming this, in a next year we will have another variation of 20th anniversary. I guess it was too much requests so they couldn't resist.

We are very sorry since there were only 2 pcs be re-in stocked this time, they were sold out very quickly.

Our company is planning to do another model changed version in next year, therefore please kindly following our news.

Sure, now that people are starting to get fed up of repainting, the new frontier at AoW will be the re-in stocks with special name plate  :troll:

I hope they don't intend a new version of the 20th anniversary, that would be really pathetic...

Thinking about it I can't possibly imagine the name plate..
"Berserk 20th Anniversary Model - The 25th Anniversary Special Version" ahahahah  :ganishka:  :magni:

all those re in stock pieces is very weird, imean i dont think these are un sold peices left because they have a diferent name plate, and i cant belive that  for example they dindt sold all guts and casca pieces since they released only 30 units and they sold out quickly, are they producing 1 or 2 pieces of olderproducts only?i dont get it...

for you who didn't like this version or didn't get a chance to own it. art of war just emailed me

"there are many customers asking for this model, our company is planning to do a new version.
The other details are not confirmed at this moment, therefore we are not able to offer more information to you.

Their items are really fragile and sometimes postal services didn't gentle enough. That's why they always have some of them as an insurance, and sometimes they resell them in events and holidays.

Are you serious?  So what's this, the last-last repainting?  Maybe when they say "the last", they mean the one before the next one they repaint.....you know, thinking into the future.

Just got this from Art of War, so owners of this version could relax.
For me its a good and bad news at the same time, I missed black and last repaint versions and really want them on my shelf.

Quote
Since we also received other customers inquiry about the re-in stock ones, we asked our company today about if they will really re-release this model in next year or not, but unfortunately there has no exact plan.

We have accepted many requests for this model and we really wish we can answer customers wishes, but since we marked the previous one the last version, we cannot just resell the same model again.

Therefore if we plan to do it, it will be a new and changed model which will definitely be different to the previous version.

Thank you very much for your understanding.
