Title: Man at Arms: Reforged: Guts' Dragonslayer... is it?
Post by: Scorpio on March 09, 2015, 05:01:16 PM
Guys at Man at Arms made one of Guts' earlier swords and it turned out pretty well. Just try to ignore that they call it the Dragonslayer...

Yeah, the original video title said it was the Dragonslayer, which got me really excited, then I scrolled down and saw that they had clearly done none of the research on this build outside of watching some clips from the anime and assuming that that was what people had been requesting.  I applaud the build they did, it took some insane effort, but boy did they get some backlash.

Not half as cool as Chiba's Dragon Slayer replica: http://www.skullknight.net/forum/index.php?topic=6201.msg124881#msg124881 (http://www.skullknight.net/forum/index.php?topic=6201.msg124881#msg124881)

:slan:

P.S. I merged all of the similar posts into a single thread, as this had been posted in three different places.

It's still pretty impressive to see what goes into making a sword of this size, even if it is an overlong raider's sword.

Sure, although this isn't exactly traditional forging.

Haha sorry for the repost, I was on mobile and posted it in a hurry without checking first - my apologies! (I just got so excited- I have been hoping they would tackle Guts' sword, though this it's not the Dragonslayer  :judo: ) I'll take what Berserk I can get!!

I prefer this guy's raider sword over man at arms version. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmJtDYvLzqg it's not made the same way, but it's more accurate and it looks better.

I've seen that dragonslayer on google image search before I joined the forums. I always wondered who it belong to. It has inspired me to build my own version of the dragonslayer.
