Been slowly playing and enjoying Spidey PS4, it's been pretty fun but the non-Spider-Man gameplay parts are always an annoying pain. I'm at like 65% completion and hope I don't have many more of those left.

I really liked the tiny bit I played of Into the Breach, I should install it at work so I can waste time doing quick missions instead of browsing twitter... or maybe I should be more productive.  :troll:

Revelations Persona is such a weird choice considering it was a heavily edited version of the original game with stuff gutted out of it that had a PSP version that was true to the original. I know it's for nostalgia and all, but are there really Persona 1 USA ver. purists out there?

Playing Killer7 finally. It's such an insane and cool looking game. It took a bit to get used to the controls but I'm really enjoying it. I should have checked it out waaay earlier since I loved No More Heroes 1 and 2.

Also got back into the pit of FFXIV  :farnese:

It's pretty fun though and the music is amazing, especially the cool FF6 remixes for the Kefka, Warring Triad, and Phantom Train fights.

Wow that's truly incredible! And it is a lot of money... Will there eventually be a "non-premium" edition?  :griffnotevil:

Apparently there won't be, but I mean, if this sells out, which I'm sure there's just enough rich LoGH fans out there for it to, then I'd hope they'd just fund a regular release.

Hope 800 bucks falls into my pocket randomly at some point if not...

In other LoGH news I've been rewatching it from the beginning with my GF and enjoying it all over again while ignoring the really bad looking remake. Oh, and a friend working at a retro game store in Little Tokyo in LA got me the super famicom game that I can't play but looks nice sitting on my shelf! :badbone:

Lastly, I really have to get back on reading the novel translations, I think they're on 5 or 6 now and I'm still in the middle of 2. My attention span is really crappy these days.

AYYY glad you enjoy it pal. A friend made me one for my birthday a few months ago so I commissioned them to make a Christmas one as well. It ended up being a lot bigger than mine on accident, so you guys got the Alpha Schnoz!

As for me, I got Mulholland Dr. from good ol Gobby! Thanks pal, I want to fill out my David Lynch collection on Blu-Ray, so this is a great gift. I also got a nice postcard from Gobs and Graily! Miss my buds up north  :judo:

Merry Happy Schnozmas! Can't wait to do it next year!

My gift is going out a bit late due to LA fire related delays (and some personal delays) so it will arrive right after Xmas :farnese:

But I am excited to see how they like it!

I have my gift here and will open it on Christmas myself!

Welp, the worst happened.  :judo:

A few weeks ago, about maybe 10 hours into BoTW, I had my girlfriend back my save up to a flashdrive so we could test playing on multiple accounts on a Wii U, which was super simple, but we wanted to be sure. 60ish (or more) hours, 2 Divine Beasts, ~40 shrines, ~30 Koroks, and like 5 hours of exploring Hyrule Castle unprepared and I find out the hard way that the Wii U saves all data to whatever USB harddrive is attached to it instead of internally. The flashdrive had been sitting in the Wii U and we thought it was doing nothing but holding some old save files from weeks ago, so she formatted it to use for some work related stuff.

:mozgus: :mozgus: :mozgus: :mozgus: :mozgus: :mozgus:

Why the hell would the system just start saving ONLY to a flash drive? What the fuck Nintendo. :rickert: It wasn't even an accidentally turned on feature, the Wii-U just straight up starts saving save files and game data ONLY to whatever external drive is plugged into. AND it's in a Wii-U only format that I doubt will be possible to recover through whatever free data recovery options are out there.

Funny enough, this sort of thing happened to me in Ocarina of Time as well like 18 years ago. I kept the system at my mom's house which I went to on the weekends and was spending months exploring every inch of OoT. I came over one weekend excited to most likely beat the game over a weekend non-stop marathon just to find that my mom let a neighbor girl play the game who deleted my save to make her own. I still feel bad to this day about exploding at her, but I was a kid and didn't have to complain on when this sort of thing happened.  :troll:

In any case, I can't decide if I will force myself to continue from somewhat near the beginning of the game and do stuff in a different order this time, or try to dull the pain by playing a new game like Cuphead or Ruiner(guess in the end I really might stop playing Zelda for it :)

Breath of the Wild is controlling my life at the moment. I might give some longer thoughts on it in the Zelda thread, but in short, it's fucking good!

I'm not playing it YET, but Ruiner is out today. It's a Cyberpunk-inspired action game.
Just grabbed that, will probably try it out after finishing Zelda(which will be never I guess)

Another revival! :griffnotevil:

Well, I live in the LA area now! San Fernando Valley to be exact. I moved out here to live with my girlfriend and that part of it has been awesome. What hasn't been awesome is getting laid off a few months after moving here.  :judo:

I was working for a small company in Valencia doing A/V, networking, security camera installs, and whatnot and we lost the other guy who was the backbone of the company and whoops my boss couldn't afford to keep me with the low volume of work coming in. In the meantime I've been driving Uber/Lyft, doing freelance tech stuff, studying for the A+ certification, and looking for entry level tech places that'll take me. I'm a bit tired of crawling through attics and under floors pulling cable, especially with Summer coming up, give me the office work!

So, to put it simply, I'm hoping to get a tech job soon, get my A+ computer cert, and maybe learn some new skills. My GF's dad is opening a T-shirt printing business in Orange County and has a client that needs tons of video editing done, so I might start learning that with the free time I have.

Ayy I did it!

Now, by "beat," do you mean that you played through them once, or through all the requisite times needed to see all the endings? Because from what I understand (I haven't played either, though I do plan to pick up Automata, so correct me if I'm wrong), in order to get the full experience, you have to replay them multiple times. Something in the story changes each time, as does the ending, and the first Nier in particular is rather infamous for what its "final" ending does.

And sorry to hear you got robbed.

Yeah, I got all (main) endings in both. A-D on Nier and A-E on Automata. Bye bye Nier save data ;_;. Dunno if I'll work through all 21 other joke ones for sure, maybe some day if I'm bored.

Also if anything everybody should experience the soundtracks for both games, they're spectacular.

Damn, that's a low blow!

Yeah... overall I'm glad all my important stuff was already in LA at that time so my game consoles, other games, TV, computer, etc were safe.

DarKlink, welcome back!

Shoot, I read the forum so often I forgot I haven't posted in a while :schnoz:

Cool. Not sure I need yet another adaptation of this series though. The OAV is just fine.

Speaking of LoGH though, I just started finally reading the novels. They're good, and it's impressive to me (so far) how faithful the OAV is at conveying not only the story, but also the character designs.

I recently finished book 1 after having it sit around for a while and it really is crazy how closely the anime followed the books. Sometimes the writing(well, translation more likely) feels a tiny bit clunky, but it's a really easy read and quicker way to re-experience the story without going through 110 episodes.

I have not real opinion on the anime yet, it doesn't feel like something that needs to exist but I'll definitely watch it.

Recently beat the first Nier after having it sitting around for years and then Nier Automata the sequel. Really enjoyed both a ton, especially the music. The way Nier blended gameplay mechanics/genres was cool but clunky at times and Nier:A greatly improved on that, thanks to Platinum developing the combat this time around, but was a bit too easy. Overall though they're both really worth playing and probably some of my favorites of their respective console generations.

Also started Persona 5 and just beat the first dungeon. The UI is so perfect, one of the coolest I've seen in any game and I love all the little extra mechanics they added to dungeon crawling. It makes things a lot less tedious than P3/4 and is a great step forward for the series(as it should be almost a decade after Persona 4).

I have tons of stuff on the backburner and that I need to start. Breath of the Wild(really want to get into this but Persona 5 is already a 100+ hour game so fuck), Yakuza 0, Dark Souls 3 DLC, Bloodborne, Final Fantasy XV, and FFXIV's new expansion is coming soon. Not to mention I wanna play Nioh, and The Last Guardian, which I was about to receive as a gift from my family before somebody robbed my old house and stole my gift cards/valuable gifts leaving me only with new slippers for xmas from my family. :judo:

The past few months have left me with way too much to play, which is a blessing and a curse.

So much to love and enjoy here! That guidebook cover is awesome and Farnese's dream is hilarious and very fitting.  :beast: :mozgus:

I've been letting things build up without fully diving into it in for the past few years and I'm so ready to catch up. We're at such a great time for Berserk.

DS3 update: beaten all but the final boss, SL 100 something (I don't even keep track), max Astora Straight Sword + Flame Arc ready, Hidden Body, Dragoncrest rings, 40 endurance and mucho stamina = invincible under the sun. Invade me, bro.

How'd you feel about Nameless King?

Honestly the prospect of running and dodging a flying enemy who can spout flame made me stop playing and it's been rough finding time to get back into the game.

Other than that, I believe I have everything done on my first playthrough other than the last boss. I messed up most of the NPC quests so I'll have to do almost all of them in NG+ or a new character, but I honestly expect that on my first play of a Souls game.

Sadly I didn't make it to the panel at Anime Expo because of how bad the lines were this year in terms of crowding and terrible management. Shit's getting to the level of SDCC where you have to get to a panel line 2-3 hours early if you want to make it in.

Crunchyroll is premiering the 1st episode at Anime Expo on July 2nd with a Q & A and autograph session with the producer of the new anime, Reo Kurosu. They didn't mentioned when they'll be streaming the episode on their site. Only that it will be "soon".

Oh hey, I'm going to be there actually. Guess I'll pop in and take some notes. HERE WE GOOO.

Berserk Miscellaneous / Re: Berserk Musou game...?
« on: June 13, 2016, 02:50:29 AM »
Aww yeah, the fact that it's coming to the west and on Steam is awesome! I don't know if Berserk lends itself to a Musou series exactly, I mean Guts mowing through waves of enemies fits, but these games always have tons of playable characters, it's weird thinking of Serpico, Isidro, and Farnese fighting hundreds of enemies. Either way, I'm excited.

Buuuut.... using Casca's rape scene to promote the game is really fucking dumb and tasteless. Seriously? Couldn't they have just shown Guts suiting up or a shot moving up the Dragon Slayer or literally anything else from the series?

I got my gift from Rhombaad the other day and got some awesome stuff!

An Eraserhead bluray I've been eyeing as well as some volumes of Berserk to help round out my collection. Hurray for Lynch solidarity Gobby! Thanks Rhomby, I'll probably watch the movie tonight or tomorrow! I'm really excited to see it in Criterion quality!

I was going to post this but waited too long! This seriously made my weekend and I really hope many new fans get to experience the series. It's such a weird surprise that I never thought I'd get.

Honestly, without an actual source it's hard to take this seriously..

That's the point of my post, it's basically barely above a rumor and even the people that were there and heard the info are confused by how it was worded. It's not like I said THIS IS 100% TRUE BERSERK TV ANIME CONFIRMED or something like that.

Anime Asylum / Re: Berserk Saga Project News
« on: July 07, 2015, 07:47:03 PM »
I debated about actually posting this info, as it's unconfirmed and a bit confusing, but...

This weekend at Anime Expo a friend was at the Studio 4C/Production IG panel where somebody asked about more Berserk movies and the director there responded in vague terms with what amounted to "A TV anime is being worked on taking place after the movies." Nobody reported on it and it's only secondhand info to me, so take it with a huge grain of salt and keep an ear/eye out for concrete info.
