Absolutely fantastic, i wasn't expecting that to happen. Thinking back to how Rickert was just a small boy when Guts first joined the Band of The Falcon to now slapping Griffith, the Falcon of Light, the absolute ruler. So awesome yet so sad.. what a panel. :ubik:

I also can't wait to see what that possible garden around them looks like.  :???:

Can't wait to see the whole episode, it looks amazing. :ubik: The panels of Erica talking to Daiba and Luca are pretty cute and funny. I'm lovin' that double spread of the black dome, Miura is really making it look ominous. It can't simply be just an arena can it? Maybe the pages of the apostles battling it out is whats happening underneath the walkway and smoke that leads to the dome?

That Gigantomakhia trailer reminds me of some kind of Berserk alternative rock AMV. :magni:

Young Animal's Facebook page showed the cover in a slightly different color.

Hmm, is it some kind of special edition of the cover? I dont mind the green on the eyes and logo but the hair and dress seems a little too much unless its suppose to look different in person. Glow in the dark maybe? Having the logo and Prome's android-like eyes glowing in the dark staring at you, that'd be pretty neat. :isidro:

Manga Mausoleum / Re: Manga character designs
« on: July 13, 2014, 10:22:00 PM »
I love watching Miura grow as an artist and seeing his art evolve in everything from backgrounds to character designs, it's a real treat.

Farnese I think Miura made her more plain looking over the course of the manga. I thought she was very pretty at first with her long hair and even after ward. Was this done to make Farnese look plainer on purpose so as not to out shine Casca?

As for Casca since she has lost hwer mind I notice She has gotten prettier and slimmer. In the manga when she was still a warrior she is boyish looking and kind of butch and no one opther then Guts thinks she is attractive (excepet random baddies who want to ream her). She had fairly tiny breasts and now it seems her boobs are bigger and more full then she was when she was a warrior. Also people tend to decribe her a being a beauty (like Luca) when she never seemed to be like that before. Actually when I saw the movies and some of the anime (especially the anime) they made her look so pretty. Why? Casca is supposed to be a butch warrior?

Butch warrior? She was tom boy-ish sure.. but butch? I dont think so. Just because she had muscle mass with short hair doesn't mean she was butch. It's not like she was fighting like Guts, overpowering her foes with her brute strength or joining weight lifting competitions in Midland. But even if she was a tom boy during the golden age.. she still was just as pretty as she is now in my opinion because she still had a lot of femininity to her even as a warrior.

I think the evolution of Miura's art plays a bigger role in her being "prettier" and more feminine then people think. Like how her eyebrows are thinner then they were in the golden age.. but whenever Guts gets a flashback of her during that time she still has those current thin eyebrows and not the bushy ones. It's not like Erica over the years used the tweezers on them. So it's not just the fact that Casca is supposed to look more attractive, elegant and "prettier" but Miura's art in general has gotten more attractive, elegant and prettier over time.

It'll be interesting to see Casca's reaction to her current physical state after she's cured. :???:

New trailer for TMNT

Really, Megan Fox? The CGI turtles have more facial movement then her.

am I missing a lot if I don't read the golden age arc ?

Yes, you're missing out on a lot. Read it, you'll be quite surprised how much is actually missing from the 97' anime adaptation.

Manga Mausoleum / Re: Strange German preview for volume 38?!
« on: June 23, 2014, 07:13:02 AM »
It's bullshit. We don't have enough episodes to fill even half a volume and if im reading the date correctly the release date is september of this year? Nooo wayyy. Maybe its little fake hype to get people to buy more volumes from them?

I actually quite like the cover. Prome looks more alien/android in this then the original. She also looks much older, maybe this is from the time when Delos first met her when she looked more like a woman?

The only gripe i have is that Delos looks wayyy older but its a small nit-pick. I can't wait to get mine. :ubik:

So, Elfhelm next episode? More Falconia? What's the overall opinion?

I'm thinking more Falconia. This event can't be the only reason why Griffith summoned Rickert. I think if we were going to transition to Guts it would've been after last episode.

Thanks LOicos for the early preview pictures! This episode looks fantastic, i can't wait to get my Young Animal!

It's quite interesting that we see people up there in Falconia, now it's really making me wonder where the not so charming looking apostles reside.  :griffnotevil:

Wow that's awesome! It's the Band of The Bunny! That attire that the Falconian wings are on looks almost pope-like.

I can't get over the Dwarf's expression, he just looks so jazzed and ready to go.  :ganishka:

Thanks Walter!

Speculation Nation / Re: Do you think Casca will be cured soon?
« on: May 09, 2014, 04:20:37 AM »
Yes i think Casca will be cured.

I'm also another fan of Aaz's idea of Guts delving into Casca's mind, that'd be really interesting.

I really can't help but think we'll see that inside Casca's mind she's experiencing something not exact but similar to what happened to Griffith at the lake before the eclipse. In her own reality and inside her mind everything is happy and pretty perfect. The eclipse never happened, Guts never left, and Griffith became king of Midland and attained his dream. I think it'd be quite an emotional experience for Guts to delve into her mind and have his eye and left arm back and be put into that kind of fantasy world that he knows isn't real but that she made up to block all of the horrible things that happened at the eclipse. It'd be heart breaking.

I kind of imagine a scene where the Falcons (well Corkus, Judeau, Pippin and Gaston) are with Casca and Guts having a good time (well everyone except Guts) and they're waiting for Griffith to arrive. While they're waiting Guts tells Casca that she needs to come back, come back to reality and she has no idea what he's talking about and doesn't wanna go and Guts grabs her with his left arm and she looks down and realizes that its mechanical and as she looks up at him she sees his eye missing and she looks at the others and they're all their post-Occultation Ceremony selves, mangled up and everything. Griffith appears, no longer the king of Midland in her mind but as his true self, Femto and all her memories come rushing back to her in a fierce way but Guts is there to comfort and reassure her that everything is okay and she wakes up in Elfhelm back to her sane self, opening her eyes up at Guts.

It'd also give Miura a chance to draw the Falcons in his current up to date art style again. We could see a little bit of young Rickert and Pippin, Corkus with all the ladies living up life, Judeau.. doing things, and maybe even Gaston's shop. :???:

Yeah.. sorry i went a little fanfic there and im probably blowing it way out of proportion, but what do you guys think the experience would be like?

Puck is such an easy answer because who wouldn't get along with him? :puck:

So i voted for Schierke. I think when Casca returns to her former self Schierke will look up to her, being a strong female and what not. I also think she'll notice how Casca and Guts interact with each other and the love the two share might help her realize how much she cares about Isidro.

Did everyone buy the volumes one by one or is there anywhere you might be able to get them all at once? I always see vol 1-37 on yahoo jap auctions but they all look like they are not in English :/

I wouldn't buy them secondhand from an auction website because then you're spending money that wont even go to the author.

I bought mine in bunches from They're pretty cheap there and they'll usually have a Dark Horse sale on top of that sometimes. But as Gummyskull posted earlier, at they're 40-50% off.. that's only 9$ for a brand new Berserk volume! Now that's a deal.

First off thanks for the info LOicos & Walter! I'm pretty pumped to see what Miura has in store for us. I'm equally excited for that bonus episode of Gigantomakhia as well.

what do you guys expect to see for Berserk in 2014?

I actually agree with you Walter that we'll get to the Elf King this year. Obviously we'll see inside Falconia, but how much? I'm thinking a couple episodes. I'm not sure if we'll see the chat with Rickert and Griffith just yet, i feel like Griffith is gonna be too busy to chat with him or there'll just be something in the way for them to not have that kind of chat quite yet.

Maybe after a beautiful yet small tour of Falconia, Raban will take Rickert to reunite with his old leader and "friend". Rickert will ask him about what happened but before Griffith can answer Charlotte walks in.. maybe even with the Pontiff, and Griffith will tell Rickert that they'll delay that chat for later and that's where we'll cut to Guts & Co. reaching Skellig.  :guts:

I also think we'll learn a little more about Puck. I see the crew arriving and everyone in Elfhelm reacting to Puck's return like "Oh god he's back.. *sigh*" :puck:

Hey Aaz, Happy Birthday! I hope it's a great one.  :griffnotevil:

I'm definitely loving it so far and i can't even understand a lick of Japanese. Can't wait to purchase the YA issue and see Miura's awesome artwork in person.
I think if Roderick and Chris Farley had a baby and that baby grew up to be a pro wrestler.. it'd be Delos. :ganishka: I like his look and personality, it's refreshing. And Burome might be some kind of cyborg? Very interesting indeed.

Maybe Miura will draw a Halloween color page with the episode as well with everyone in a costume!.. Guts in a puppy costume, Griffith in a Falcon costume, Isidro as a.. monkey?  :isidro: okay i'll stop.

They have to do the BlackSwordsman Arc, I just don't see any positives in skipping it. If they immediately go to the Lost Children Arc, how the hell are they gonna introduce Puck to Guts? Oh but wait.. we already read the manga so we already know! So it doesn't matter how they do it in the anime right? :schierke:

I thought i was done with GTA after the snooze-fest that was GTA IV. But that online just looks plain.. FUN. I'll definitely be buying it, i just hope the single player story doesn't give me boredom headaches like the last one.

Been playing Shin Megami Tensei IV for 3DS. About 10 hours in. Enjoying it, but not in love. The game really explodes with content around the 8 hour mark, and it's getting more exciting, but the characters and plot are just so interminably dry, it's hard for me to sink my teeth into. It's actually the same thing that kept  me from loving Fire Emblem Awakening on 3DS...
Did you make sure to get your 30$ nintendo e-shop credit?  :puck:

I recently finished SMT IV and i just started up Fire Emblem and my god i have to force myself to play this game. The story, world, characters, just everything is so generic and dull. I agree that SMT IV can be dry but it can't be as boring as Fire Emblem's world. It sucks because i really wanna like this game. The gameplay is enjoyable and i like the whole mechanic of: if you mess up and someone dies, they're gone forever so every move is important. I just wish i could care about the characters in my army, but i dont. lol Does the story or characters get any better.. at all? I'm only like 3 hours in.

Character Cove / Re: Favorite Berserk Character Introductions
« on: August 01, 2013, 05:16:33 AM »
I'd have to say the introduction of the God Hand in volume 3, that's when Berserk really intrigued me. Everything about it was just awesome. The way the beherit took shape and summoned the Count and everyone to the God Hand in that place with the stairs (which i hope we get to see again), and how they were in the shadows in different areas and then all of a sudden they appeared right before you with these really unique and interesting character designs that i definitely wasn't expecting, sure we got shadowy figures of them beforehand but i didn't think they were gonna look quite like that.. I think Miura did a damn good job of making them feel evil and powerful in their introduction.

I still can't believe the size of Void's brain in this movie. How could they sit there and agree with each other that it's totally okay to leave it like that..? Are they just gonna give Ganishka a mustache?

Every time Berserk is confirmed to not be in the next issue, it stings a little but i'm sure it's for good reason. I'd hate it if he glanced over a certain aspect of the story and hurried stuff up simply because fans wanted more Berserk. If this break takes a whole year, i'm fine with it.. as long as Miura gets the story exactly like how he wants it to be told.
