Speculation Nation / Re: Guts's Lineage
« on: November 07, 2017, 03:39:22 PM »
The story makes it pretty clear that Guts was born normal and only became the powerhouse he is through a life of hardships and perseverance. And really, this is basically Berserk's central theme. A "mere man" standing up against supernatural monsters through the sheer power of his will...  and his brawn.

could not have said it better myself. that's what drew me to berserk, that he is just a man, forced to cope with hand he was dealt.

Anyone watch the short movies they released? I haven't ...

Yes. They are really cool and act as like a "fill in the gaps" sort of thing. ridley scott's son directed two of them and Shinichirō Watanabe (cowboy bebop) made the other,

I just saw blade runner in Imax. Holy hell what a film. I absolutely loved it. I am going to see it again, I cant say a  single thing displeased me until I see it again. It was like being in a trance, the cinematography, the score, the set design, It was all mesmerizing.

I will say jared leto is forever a creep.

I think it was an excellent continuation of the BR universe with out over doing it.

Destiny 2! anyone else playing? I am about 3 hours in and holy cow! This game is beautiful. I was super into Destiny 1 so I am not surprised how good it is but they did such a good job from what I have played so far. Its also very apparent they actually put in effort to telling a story this time around. If anyone wants to play or looking for a clan hit me up! psn Mufasa_315 Im part of a nice sized clan (23+ members) with a really solid group of people. We are always taking new members.  :serpico:

My new (old) baby, a 1985 Gibson Explorer in Ferrari Red:

I've wanted another Gibson since my friend took back his SG after I borrowed it for years (I sort of assumed it was mine at that point =) and I finally got the one I've always wanted. It plays like a fuckin' dream too; no matter how loose or out of control you feel, like you're about to fuck up, it just seems to come out right! I'm thinking of calling her Christine. :zodd:

Or Robin1, Magnum, or just "the Ferrari." :carcus:

Wow shes beautiful!
I have an SG, absolutely love it. It fly's. The action is as close to the neck with out buzzing lol.

I have been going hard on bloodborne for the hundredth time. This time around I'm rocking a strength build. I got the whirligig saw super early and have been sawing fools in half with great joy.

I eat these podcast's up regardless, however I do like the page by page because I feel you and gang often bring more incite to each page and pick up on things I maybe miss or don't think about. You and the group have such a deep knowledge of berserk and I like when that comes through in the rereads. Like I said though I will listen to what ever you decide to do.  :serpico:

I'm trying to hammer through this new DS3  DLC so I can be ready for this Destiny update. Im taking a break on Zelda Botw, Im about 15 hours in and its intense. I really love it but its a little overwhelming. Its always been my problem with open world games. I have open world A.D.D. Im like "hey whats that thing way over there..... hours later... O its just a rock. What was I doing again?"

I've played the prologue and 5 missions.  I hate to be the negative nancy, but if this wasn't Berserk there is no way on earth I'd touch this game.  I knew going in the formula looked generic, but wow.  There is no strategy at all.  On hard.  Button mash as a ton of ai stands around.  This is to video games as the 2016 anime was to Berserk imo.

You are not wrong my friend.

I also played about two hours of the main story. I only have three major issues. 1, I also got the Vita port and I'm not super impressed by the graphics. 2, no multiplayer. 3, this one is huge for me. The music! itís not bad but with such amazing scores to pull from I feel like they missed the mark. I know there is lots off issues with getting licensed tracks but if they can put in the ridiculous  sword clank sound from the 2016 anime why canít a dude get some "HAAAAAIIIII YYYYAAAAIIIIIII For cessssss!" like come on! Besides that I love it! Swinging the DS it's everything I ever thought it could be! I'm having so much fun.

Lets make it 4! No cross save!

Anyone have any insight on how the Vita version runs? I am going to get it for ps4 and I want it for vita but if its runs like crap I may pass. I also have a DW game on my vita and it runs just fine, so I hope it runs as smooth as that.

How's the world design in Ni-Oh? That's half of the reason I loved the Souls games so much, and I'm concerned upon looking at screenshots and videos that this looks a little generic by comparison.

The Lv design is good, I will say there are some shorter areas, almost like dark souls II, On the plus side of that, there are still lots of thing to explore even in the smaller levels. Some sweet breakable walls in some areas. The thing about the smaller areas is they are still super challenging. The second area is a cave zone filled with huge demons so it's more like "it doesn't matter how big it is it's how you use it"  :ganishka: As far as people saying it's a clone of DS, you are only a tiny bit right. It takes basic elements and builds it's own identity. I think at this point it would be impossible to make an action RPG and not compare it to the Souls games.

PS. Aaz if you do get a PS4 bloodborne is a must play for an infinite amount of reasons. The only one you need is, being soaked in the blood of your enemies under the light of a full moon.  :guts:

I absolutely would be playing it if it weren't a PS4 exclusive  :judo:

Walter if I could give you a ps4, it would already be on its way to you.

Is anyone else playing Nioh? I'm really enjoying it. Its like onimusha/souls. The combat at first seemed very convoluted but the more I play it the better it feels. Flows nicely. It has the speed of bloodborne that's for sure. The duels are super tense and you pay big time for missing a swing or being greedy with your stamina. It does some really cool stuff with the action adventure formula.

Skeleton Lucis, I missed your post! LOL. How do you like it so far? I didn't play the beta, I try to avoid demos.

Hey guys.

So, I put together a kind of review/thoughts/impressions video of Berserk Musou ahead of the Western release. Please take a look and let me know what you think:

I apologize for my terrible recording quality. I was using the PS4 capture and the crappy iMovie record function with no microphone.

I really enjoyed your video. Thanks for making it! :)
