Review from advanced screenings of next months "IT" release are VERY positive. Stephen King's IT is probably my favorite novel of all time, and while the 1990s mini series was a horrible adaption of the work, it was a fun and creepy attempt of turning a R rated novel into a PG13 tv experience.

Not sure if there are any other IT fans on these boards, but for the first time I might not be too disappointed in a book to movie adaptation.

The images of them descending into the tree along the lily pads REALLY reminds me of The Great Hollow in Dark Souls.

That was my first thought upon seeing it, but there have been similar shots featuring Griffith and others since; it's when I saw her hair when I really considered the similarities beyond that. Still not much to go on though I should add, but it's a fun thought.

I think the thing that sticks out the most is the similar slender display of neck and cheek bones. No other image from the series springs to mind as matching that particular style other than the one from this episode and the one episode 175. Wish I had a screenshot I could link to for any other interested readers.

I knew I shouldn't have tried to show off using jargon and quit while I was ahead! I didn't really mean Griffith's and Danan's ods would feel similar in nature but that it would be interesting if whatever it is about Griffith and the Boy that causes the latter's manifestation and/or projection was similar to a trait or ability of Danan's that Schierke thought she recognized. I'm assuming Schierke would recognize Griffith's od since she presumably felt it through that bird, so like Aaz said the Boy's is probably unique.

I personally find that the final page in this episode draws an especially striking resemblance to the final page in episode 175.

Griff, its been a lot of fun reading your recaps of your NG+ run. I'm sure others have already said as much, but I love DS1 and its DLC so so much.

I've been guilty of consuming the contents of this thread without providing anything back. Now that their hasn't been any new discussion for several weeks I will add in my renewed excitement for the series after watching last week's S6E07 "The Broken Man"

Series Speculation:
I'm excited to see further confirmation that the long time fan theory regarding "Clegane Bowl" is looking more likely than ever. The hound is back with the beginning of a humble religious affiliation. For the uninitiated, the speculation is that Cercei will indeed choose the Mountain as her Champion for Trial by Combat rather than stand trial, and the Septum will in turn call on the Hound to represent their side.

Riverlands speculation for the rest of season 6 and spoilers for those who haven't read any of the books:
After last season I had pretty much given up hope that we would ever see Lady Stoneheart in this show. In the book timelines it should have happened during season 4, but with Jaimie and Brienne finally getting to their Riverlands story arc (The promo for Episode 8 shows that Brienne will be there), its appearing ever more likely. To further support this theory we have the Brotherhood without Banners being re-introduced in this episode, and Thoros of Myr is rumored to be cast for at least one episode in season 6. I may be setting myself up for more disappointment, but the writers have put all the right pieces into place for her storyline to take hold.

Humor centric Dark Souls 3 video review. I hadn't spoiled anything about the game for myself, and after watching this still don't think I have spoiled anything. Your mileage may vary.

I love that MMV, excellent editing and timing (and nice use of a song that is not metal/grunge-ish in sound). Definitely one of my favorite Berserk MMV's of all time.

Yes!! Due to the lack of any responses until now, I can only assume everyone had already seen it before my original share. Its far too depressing to imagine a world where people live their lives never knowing fluid Berserk greatness. :ubik:  We are truly living in a Utopia now.

That's an interesting theory, that Flora actually actively extended her life through some sort of magical means. I had always assumed that Flora just had a (un)naturally long lifespan simply due to her nature of being a witch in of itself.

If you recall old man Morgan's story from that same volume, he said that Flora hadn't aged at all since he had last encountered her when he was a little boy.

What's interesting to me now is if your original interpretation of Flora's dialogue about living too long, was the correct one, and that there was indeed some other form of time flow deviation happening at the sanctuary, to explain Morgan's observation. But I am fairly confident a moderator will be along soon to debunk this whole thing, bless them.

Ditto. I really enjoyed this project two different times during its evolution yesterday, and just wanted to mention how much fun it was to learn which other Apostles beyond Rosine, Volkov, and the ones from books 1 - 3 have returned throughout the series.

Just stumbled upon the a new one of these that has really blown me away with some nice after effects video editing (maybe the best ever). I thought the 2nd half was really good.

How good are the rest of the issues?

I've watched a few videos of AnrikuZer0, and the fun of his videos is basically watching this guy unfold the story piece by piece and getting his reactions in essentially real time.

Well said

I'll check these out but... we've been doing a series re-read, volume by volume, on our podcast for almost a year now. Currently up to volume 12. http://www.skullknight.net/forum/index.php?topic=14529.0

We've actually adopted the opposite strategy over time. From doing a volume at a time to splitting it up between sessions.

Thanks Walter. I admit that I haven't been keeping up with the podcast lately, and I'm sure you guys would have a lot more to say about each individual volume or episode given your vast knowledge of the series. I'll have to catch up as well.

These guys on youtube are first time readers, its fun to see their reactions, and thankfully they seem to both comprehend and appreciate many of the finer points and details too.

Berserk Volume Reviews on youtube!

I've never seen anyone attempt to review the entire series of Berserk during their first read through, volume by volume before. In the past 6 months or so, 2 first time readers started doing reviews episode by episode but quickly ramped up to entire volumes at a time. The best part is that they only review the official releases and occasionally flash a page or two of the section they are talking about on screen to remind people to buy and support Berserk.

Right now they are both at volumes 26 and 27 respectively. These have been somewhat of a guilty pleasure of mine the last 3 - 4 months, but if you're like me, reliving someone else's first time is the next best thing getting to go back and relive Berserk again yourself.

They start off perhaps a little shaky, but skip ahead to volumes 5+ and their commitment to the series shines through IMO

I saw Interstellar myself 8 days ago. I've grown to like it a lot more after ruminating on it for several days. My initial impressions were mixed. With that 3rd arc I couldn't shake the feeling that I had just seen an M. Night Shyamalan movie.

However after reading reviews online I believe I missed some key dialogue in the movie which make the events in question a lot more acceptable.

As others have mentioned, I thought the movie did an excellent job depicting the feelings of isolation and desperation that interstellar travel must invoke. I really liked the focus on time dilation but I also thought the movie missed an opportunity to depict phenomena of spageittification
