Speculation Nation / Re: Griffith's face after the torture

That picture is from the movie trilogy's art-book.

Wow thanks for the fast answer! :ubik:

It's nice to know where this picture originally came from but now it's concluded, there's no "true" art of Griffith's face after being tortured.  :griffnotevil:

Speculation Nation / Griffith's face after the torture
« on: August 11, 2014, 01:19:51 PM »
I was lookin' up on EG's forums and I noticed a thread where they speak on how Miura never really shown Griffith's face after he had been tortured.

Looking up trough the archives over here, the last thread I found speaking of which was 12 years old.  :SK:

Miura clearly left this part of the manga to our imagination, even if the jailer/torturer spoke openly about what he did to Griffith's face.

I just wanna know you guys' impressions/thoughts about this picture who has been posted yesterday on that forum, it definitly leaves me clueless on where did he get all these details from.

That's terrible.

What's so terrible about this theory Aazealh? I mean, it sounds pretty legit to me! o.O

Been playing Divinity: Original Sin for about 2 weeks now, I'm totally addicted...  :magni:

Got my friend Chrono Trigger for the Super Nintendo this week for a birthday present. We were both playing it all day, such a blast!

Chrono Trigger is possibly the best RPG ever, played it countless times, even got the DS port and if your really into the story, I suggest you try "Crimson Echoes" or "Flame of Eternity" which are two fan-made game/hacks.

BTW: If you wanna get your mind blow (once your done with the game) go out on Youtube and check out this video!

Speculation Nation / Re: The voice of the IoE?
« on: May 13, 2014, 12:29:22 AM »
Same voice that starts the anime "in this world is the destiny..." thats my IOE voice in my head
I thought the same too, a deep, slow-paced grimmy voice...

But some other users prefered it'd be multiple voices from different people, all in the same being (ala Gantz), that works too

Speculation Nation / Re: How do you think Berserk will end?
« on: May 13, 2014, 12:23:09 AM »
I'm wondering if the last page of the series (or close to it) will be a picture of the dragon slayer in some form, maybe either broken finally or it stuck in the ground in a cool pose.
My first thought came trough Cloud's sword in the FF7:Advent Children movie lol but Delta's picture shows pretty much the same concept :D

As for the ending, there's no way anyone can speculate about it and end up being right. This is no common manga, it's not gonna be a cheesy/easy conclusion and there's literally way too much stuff to be revealed yet...

Speculation Nation / Re: Casca killing Griffith...?
« on: September 11, 2010, 09:41:26 PM »
As far as we can speculate, Griffith's current body is actually made out of Casca's+Guts' baby vessel...

So my vote goes toward the fact that she will be unable to kill him, since it would also mean the death of her child as well... That whole concept is probly one of the so-many reasons why Griffith will NOT be killed by neither Guts or Casca!

That's just my opinion anyway, straight vengeance won't work with this case!

Ok, this is probably way far fetched, but that SK sword strike to Femto reminds me of the strike Guts made to Griffith when they dueled for the second time (on the shoulder too, even if now Griffith is with his back turned). But it just seems familiar in the sense that Femto/Griffith isn't aware of his vulnerability.
I don't know, i just remembered it. Maybe this could trigger something in Femto/Griffith like that other duel did.

EDIT: disregard this post, too many beers.
I actually LOVE that theory!  :chomp:

On another note, while some may discuss on how SK's actions might bring him to his fall, I'll just say that :badbone: is never wrong!

He's obviously the protagonist who has the highest probabilities of hurting/slaying the God Hand. Even if he's facing Femto, Zodd & Rakshas... I'm just too convinced that he has a much more important thing to deal with Void before resting in peace! :SK:

I understand why they did what they did to melee (and I completely understand and advocated for some way to stop Survivors from becoming unstoppable melee machines), but I'm not sure I like it. Will need to play some more games to get a good impression.
The new patch is amazing I mean at LAST, survivors aren't that OP anymore...

Back then any kick-ass team of survivors would stricly rape everyone and keep on killing newcomers + ragequitters until the versus' campaign is over. They didn't added the melee-stamina thing to the normal campaigns because expert is totally impossible without infinite melee.

So yea... any of you good Hunter players can tell me how to do the jump from wall to wall thing? I thought it was as simple as to target a wall and just jump from that crouching position from there to where ever.
You need to do it Prince of Persia style, leap from one side to another, try it out on the multiple silos that you can find in the Blood Harvest campaign. You'll  I'm used to do 20+ dmg leaps but sometimes it's better out doin' a diversion than aiming for the "crazy" jump. You might just miss it, leaving you dead within seconds after doin' poor dmg in the best case.

I've been playin' L4D a lot since the new patch and since... RE5 FUCKED MY PS3's BLUERAY!!!! DIE CAPCOM ROAR!!!!  :chomp:

Wow I get myself a brand new job, set the date up for my Brand of the Sacrifice tatoo... then I come home... ZOMG I'M SCREAMING LIKE A SILLY 11 YEARS OLD GIRL ROAR!!!!!

Thanks Aaz, you just made my day :griffnotevil:

Honestly I'd take Guts over Irvine any day. Sure, Irvine has been portrayed as a nice guy in several occasions and I'm not particularly looking forward to his death, but he's still a monster in the end.
Irvine's death would certainly make me sad :judo:

But Locus & Irvine both stand in the "nice guys" category, Rashkas, Grunbeld & Zodd tend to be a little more in the "evil" one... I wonder if Miura really wants to keep his antagonists categorized this way.

"Power ups?" Weren't you the guy saying that Berserk wouldn't become more Shounen?  :schierke: That sure sounds like shounen terminology.
Well, power-ups... It's not because your weapon become stronger that your manga is linked to the shounen terminology... Guts' Dragon Slayer became stronger trough the massive ripping of Apostles, which makes total sense, that's an apparent logic reason. Noneless than that Walter, I don't see how can seinen mangakous are supposed to bring their characters' strenght to another level ;)

Quote from: Walter
And SK can ONLY die once he's done with Zodd and Void? That's a very specific hypothesis. What's it based on?
1000 years of battle between SK and Zodd just cannot end without one of them dyin' from the hands of the other one... and as for Void, I'm simply assuming this by the FIRST thing SK did as he entered the Eclipse  :SK:

Quote from: Walter
I think you're misunderstanding the usage of the Yobimizu no Tsurugi, but I could be wrong. "Power" here isn't what's at play. It's the ability of the sword to cut a rift between the worlds that's its function. It wouldn't add +200 attack power or anything, if that's what you meant. Remember what SK says about how he'd intended to use it: "This was only meant to entomb _them_ in the Vortex."
I've never said that the Yobimizu no Tsurugi was a rip-ass sword that destroyed tons of apostles by it's mere sight when unsheated, I just meant that it holds more functions than what the Dragon Slayer does atm... I gotta admit that I wouldn't really seein' both fused up together  :chomp:

Quote from: Walter
It's _causality_.
What a terrible typo, it's fixed now!

Speculation Nation / Re: Guts and the Beherit Sword
« on: April 04, 2009, 03:39:24 PM »
First, welcome to the community! ;)

Second, that theory is kinda solid and I also believe like you that Guts won't find any power-ups until the God Hand's confontration. Skull Knight can only die once he's done with Zodd & Void, so yeah that'd probly only leave Femto in the way of Guts' revenge.

Even though your theory makes sense, I don't see Guts' enhanced Dragon Slayer becoming anyhow more powerful than it is at the moment. Miura will probly come with something more discret, like Skull Knight telling Guts' some very plot-wise important secrets about the berserker armor or about the fate of our protagonist... or how SK was able to swim against the flow of causality and foresee things...

Ok, my post is getting out of hand! But with Miura's written answers, this part of the forum will rise from it's ashes :guts:

I'm also surprised that most people seem to assume that Guts or one of his new companions will be the one's killing them, who's to say they won't die by another means?
Skullknight will take Zodd's life, then he'll die by killing Void!  :badbone:

Quote from: Walter
Again, you seem to be forgetting things that have already happened... Where was Grunbeld's superior strength and intelligence when he underestimated Guts and nearly got himself killed?
Yes and it is at that very point where Guts became more than just a human swordman, let's just say that the berserker armor is very capable of killing apostle lieutenants. I don't believe they'll (Grunbeld first) ever underestimate him anymore  :chomp:

But I think it's your specific portrayal here that's cheesy and unoriginal. You must not have a very vivid imagination if  you think it has to play out "just like" a shounen series.
I was tryin' to say that it won't be played out as a shounen series, there will be no "hunt" of such strong apostles, they are the beasts, they are the one tracking. Sorry if I didn't made myself clear enough about this...

So volumes 1-3; 14-17 are too shounen as well, then? You know, when Guts was hunting apostles down one by one?  :schierke:
These apostles somehow knew they were being tracked at one point and they were careless, kept underestimating Guts and they are clearly not strong/intelligent as the lieutenants of the Band of the Hawk. :rakshas:

Anyway... we're only speculating, nobody knows how it'll all happen aside :miura:

I'd say things are setting up to be the opposite actually. After the war, peace will probably cause Griffith's forces to spread out to get some autonomy amongst themselves. And at that point, Guts and Co. would hunt them down one by one :rakshas:
Not exactly my thoughts Walter. The possibility that they'll leave Guts & Co hunt them one by one doesn't quite get into my mind.  :???:

It wouldn't make sense because these apostles are very strong for sure and they have lived for many more years than humans would. They have obtained a sense of awareness and they cannot be tricked by Guts' group and die by un-original "hunt for the heads of the lieutenants 'till Zodd" (because he's most likely the strongest apostle aside the God Hands).

This isn't how Miura has brought up any epic battles or in terms of plotline, Berserk isn't the "usual shounen" manga-type, this is a serious adult seinen, this isn't Naruto/Bleach.

So it ain't hard to tell that my vote went for "two or more" and my guess would be Grunbeld + Irvine (Serpico serving an arrow decoy or something would be great)  :serpico:

I just can't wait 'till we get to see how Miura's gonna bring the fall of the lieutenants of the new Band of the Hawk.

Merci Aaz...

Yeah like most people said, I'd call the Golden Age as "Berserks' happiest moments"... Elfhelm is probably gonna be the last time we'll see our heroes tryin' to relieve themselves from the BIG FREAKIN' EVIL THAT'S COMIN'!!  :griffnotevil:

I'd like to comment the awesome discussion you people had trough the second page of this thread... Guts bein' responsible for what happened to Griffith? Are you folks out of your mind? There's no way, any person in this world can be responsible for someone's else feelings, that is something you cannot be blamed for.

I'm just wondering on another note if the  actually used Guts for his own schemes... I mean yes the IoE has been pullin' strings and has been setting up Griffith's life for 1000 years but it seems Guts played a bigger part than he was supposed to.

I'm glad with the recent patch that has fixed most of the infected problems.

Now the tanks/witches have the exact % of spawn rate for both team, it was about time to make it even for everyone! :chomp:

I'm just pissed out because the smokers are SO freakin' overpowered now but I'm very happy about the hunters aren't getting owned by humans melee-spam anymore...

Hopefully the next patch will give us new content/weapons/zombies... BRING 'EM OUT!  :daiba:

^^ wow Griffith that was amazing but I guess we're in such a huge need of new Berserk content that the speculation is getting out of hand :P

Personally I believe the  shall be destroyed by Griffith's repentance and by thus, giving the "happy ending" that Miura claimed he'd do... But something Merlin-like isn't impossible either.

But seriously Griffith, this is some incredible work! :griffnotevil:

Skullknight gets my vote because of the whole mystery behind his character. On top of that, his actions are totally unpredictable and he's obviously Guts' best ally to put down the God Hand/IoE plans because they share the same goal  :void: :griffnotevil:
