Speculation Nation / What will happen in the future??
« on: October 01, 2001, 11:17:18 AM »
One thing I keep wondering about, is Casca's and Guts' future. They have both been branded and up to this point in the story, have survived. But how for how long?? We all know that Guts can pretty much defend himself and kickass in the process, but what about Casca? True, when she was sane and a Hawk General, she was a damned skillful fighter. I think she has the potential to take out some apostle minions. However, sadly, I do not think that she can defend herself from apostles like the Snake Baron and the Count....and especially not against Zodd.

Even if she does or doesn't regain her sanity, Guts can't be there to protect her 24x7. Sorry...but it just can't be done period! So, they are now going to Pucks homeland. For what!! Possibly to find a way to help Casca or just to keep here in a 'safe' place. If it does turn out to be a 'safe' place, does that mean that there are two opposing forces in this world....the all powerful and fearless God Hand vs. the cute and cuddly elves? And humans are simply caught in the middle of this whole mess. Afterall, puck DID say he felt an 'elf' aura about the skullknight.

I also think that there are other powerful apostles. The world of Berserk is large. And we have only seen one continent...Midland. This world has got to have other continents....or am I presuming too much? Utlimately, I do not think that this story will end in a 'happily ever after' manner. Unless the elves know of method to remove a brand...

Hey!! My first post! Wow...I feel kinda...wierd...inside................someone hold me please :)

Speculation Nation / Schierke the witch girl
« on: October 16, 2001, 02:53:59 PM »
She seems to be quite knowledgeable for such a young girl. This leads me to believe that she is older than she seems...much older. Perhaps she is even knowledgeable about causality and the God Hand. She may even know what happened with Gaiseric. And I am not talking about just reading about it...I am talking about she actually being there. I wonder... :o

Speculation Nation / Guts the semi-unbreakable
« on: October 28, 2001, 05:23:46 PM »
I have another thoery of Guts' incredible strength and ability to take a beaten and ask for seconds. I thought of this after watching the movie Unbreakable. This theory is scientific and many of you will have your own opinions about it.

For those of you who are unfamiliar of the movie. Bruce Willis's character, David, is the sole survivior of a devastating train wreck. He is miraculously unhurt and uninjured. Enter Samuel L. Jackson's character, Elijah. He suffers from a rare genetic disorder known as Ostiogenesis Inperfecta. This disease leaves Elijah's bones as brittle as glass. The hypothesis of Elijah is that if he is on one end of the human spectrum, brittle, there must be an individual that is on the other end, unbreakable.

Guts may be SOMEWHERE on the other end of this disorder's spectrum... :o

Or screw this theory and the SkullKnight OR Zodd is Guts' daddy.  ;D

Speculation Nation / The Skullknight and humans
« on: November 13, 2001, 01:59:16 PM »
My apologies if this has already been covered.

If I remember correctly. The only humans that the Skullknight ever spoke to were Guts, Rickert and Luca. He speaks to Guts because...well, hell Guts IS the main character afterall. His exchange with Rickert was brief to say the least. Now Luca...of all the characters thus far, he spoke to Luca at some great length. My question is why?? Does anyone know what they said to each other?? Is it relevant to his past? I have always guessed that they both had some connection or relationship in the past...or perhaps she reminded him of someone...

And the main question of this topic....Why hadn't the Skullknight spoken to Griffith before the Eclipse?? Maybe he has but Miura has not shown us yet... :o

Speculation Nation / Griffith - the gender challenged
« on: January 28, 2002, 08:37:15 AM »
OK, my minds made up. Griffith is female!! Thats what I think. He is a she!! Just look at the pictures of the latest chapter and tell me what you think.

When Griffith was reborn, Griffith may have looked male, but maybe Griffith was still...had should I say...not fully "developed"??

I would not be surprised if Miura decides to make Griffith female.  8)

Speculation Nation / SkullKnight fated to kill Void??
« on: August 01, 2002, 09:53:47 AM »
Did SK actually say this (I sorta remember hearing something like this)?? If this is true, then we dont have to worry about the GodHand or Void atleast if fate has anything to do with it. Thoughts anyone??

Berserk Miscellaneous / Griffith's new legion
« on: October 17, 2001, 08:26:41 AM »
The appeareance of the DragonKnight, Locus and Rohkas is a huge event. However, I wonder if the SkullKnight new of thier existences. If not, are there others like them scattered throughout the Berserk world?

How about Zodd? He was looking for the ultimate strong one afterall. I am surprised that he has not met them in a battlefield yet. Either one of these new characters ARE definitely strong.

Strange things are amidst us ;)

« on: October 10, 2001, 10:22:57 AM »

Shootin' the Breeze / What do ya'll think
« on: October 26, 2001, 07:44:27 AM »
The other day, I was telling my girlfriend about Berserk. She thought that the whole story about Guts and Casca was so sad. But I assured her that, while true, Berserk is not really about sadness, but about hope and inspiraton. Anyway. she thought it sad nonetheless and Guts being the unsung hero of it all. She told me that the perfect song for Guts would be Superman by Five for Fighting. It sort of fits the Guts and Casca predicament. Listen to that song and tell me whatchya all think :D

Shootin' the Breeze / Which Hawk would it be?
« on: November 05, 2001, 07:47:52 AM »
Hey all!! Of the Hawks that died, which one would you choose to have survived the eclipse. I would choose Judeau because he was an all-around cool cat. Plus, I think he would have been an excellent choice to take care of Casca. However, there would still be that love he has for her. But that is what made him so damn awesome. He always thought of other before himself and he would never jeopardize his friendship with Guts and Casca. I even bet that Judeau and Puck would be pretty damn good pals. If he were still alive I would bet my left arm and right eye that Judeau and Farnese would have hooked up. If only... :'(

Shootin' the Breeze / An american comic that did work
« on: January 25, 2002, 08:39:00 AM »
This one is in regards to Walter's american comic thread in the 'Berserk related' section.

Well I'm not into comics too much.  The extent of my Japanese manga exposure IS Berserk. I know I know, thats sad. But one US comic that I loved as a kid was Eastman and Laird's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Its an awesome comic and in no way anything like that snot-nosed tv kiddy version or the horrid live-action movies(well, the first TMNT movie was alright). For those not familiar with these comics, I highly recommend that you all check it out!! I don't think you will be disappointed.

Shootin' the Breeze / Metropolis
« on: February 02, 2002, 12:21:47 AM »
Hello all. Just got back from the local cinema, I watched an anime called Metropolis for the second time. Let me tell you...its a very beautiful, beautiful production. Ranks up there with the Grave of Fireflies anime. The first time I saw it was because my buddy dragged me into it. This second time I took my girlfriend, her brother and my younger sisters. They all loved it!! I rarely do this for any movie, but I feel I want to share this with you all. If you get a chance to see it, I hope the movie effects you same way it effected me. I just cant get this movie out of my head. Its that good, in my opinion! Follow this link for the official website. Please go check it out if you like!!

and heres an awesome review:

well, good night all!!

Shootin' the Breeze / HHAHAHHA.....yeah right!!!......HAHAHAH
« on: February 19, 2002, 10:53:48 AM »
An excerpt from...well, know where:

"Plans for an American television broadcast of Berserk were quickly killed (no pun intended) as the series contains so much graphic violence that editing it out wouldn't leave enough running time to make up a single episode."

but on a lighter note:

"The first DVD volume of Berserk will be released in two formats: disc only, and disc with slipcase sized to hold all 5 DVDs. Details on the DVD slipcase have not been clarified yet."

Shootin' the Breeze / An homage to the Hague
« on: August 01, 2002, 11:30:17 AM »
Ok, so I'm sitting here at work and hating every minute of it. So I decided to think up some wacky shit and here's what I came up with. Enjoy and add if you wish.

Mighty Robots, Mighty Vehicles, Haaaaaguuueee!!

Transformers! Hagues in disguise.

Haagueee Joe! A real american hero, Hague Joe is here.

By the power of Hague, I have the Powerrrrrrr!

Thunder! Thunder! Thundercats Hagueeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

And a quote as it should have been intended:

Dying Leader: It is to you old friend, I shall pass the Hague of leadership to you as it was passed to me.

2nd in command: I'm just a soldier. I'm...I'm not worthy.

Dying Leader: Nor was I, But someday, someone will rise from our ranks and use the Power of the Hague to light our darkest hour.

Shootin' the Breeze / Now this is just too much!!!
« on: August 11, 2002, 09:20:36 AM »
My friend just told me that hes gonna ask his gf to paint her nails red with little black brands in the middle, on all ten fingers!! I said 'what, your smoking crack man!!". He was like "Yeah, I think she'll be down with that." It would be interesting to see that though. I'll let you all know how that goes and maybe scan it to show everyone here.
