Shootin' the Breeze / Returning old member
« on: September 14, 2018, 12:04:19 AM »
Hung around from 2003-2006 reading the scans from Skullknight and Band of the Hawk (RIP?), eventually started buying the Dark Horse releases to support Berserk stateside and to have physical copies. Somewhere along volume 27 I tapped out, either because Dark Horse hadn't released further, or I just grew out of it.

I always remained a fan of the series and checked in over the years to see if it was (hopefully) finished so that I could buy up and close out. I gotta say...still pretty bummed it's ongoing only because it's hard for me to stay vested for decades especially when an author has a leisurely pace. Within the past few months I saw Berserk on Netflix, took a peek, and got excited with the show opening featuring characters from the Conviction Arc. Naturally I was disappointed at the outcome. I've only seen clips of the 2016 anime and understand why it's considered shitty, but I'm still curious to see how the manga is interpreted.

So now my interest has been reignited and I return, rapidly approaching volume 39 and likely to lurk here.  :carcus:

Manga Mausoleum / Zodd getting out of proportion...
« on: December 03, 2004, 10:25:11 PM »
So I'm reading vol 27, and once again I've realized how damn out of proportion Zodd's horn is getting. Its like 3 times the size it was before one was cut off! If he had the other horn, they'd be so fucking huge that they'd be stickin out on the sides of his head or right next to each other w/no space.

Just looks ridiculous and is bugging me... :P

Manga Mausoleum / Finally, Lost Episode Scans

Only because I didn't want to post responses in both of the Lost Chapter topics, and because this is much more direct, here you go: and English scans of the Lost Chapter.

In my case, the folder color/icon isn't changed at all, yet to the right if I look at the dates it will mention "TODAY @ whatever."

Thought i'd bring it up.

Site & Forum News / Cookies, Mozilla Firefox + This Site

So perhaps its this type of message board system, but I'm using Firefox here at work and this (along w/1 other msgbrd) never keeps cookies, even though my cookies are enabled in both browser and site.

Perhaps its because this is a weird yabb? No problem with vb's, phpbb's, ubb's...just this.

Whatchu think?

Berserk Merchandise / Guts on horse resin: on ebay
« on: October 16, 2003, 05:20:29 PM »
Its DAMN costly!  But, I found it interesting, and if anybody is willing to shell out the $$, go right ahead. ;)

Skully isn't too cheap, either!

I also found this doujinshi to be rather entertaining, at least from the scans shown:

Berserk Merchandise / 8" Guts and the normal price?
« on: October 12, 2003, 05:38:14 PM »
I just won this item for $32 total, which is cheaper than I've seen elsewhere on ebay lately (40-55 or so).  What is the normal price for this guy, out of curiosity? I've been anxious to get the 4" figures too, but the quality on Black Swordsman Guts looks a little weak.  Anyway:

Berserk Merchandise / OOP Berserk Beherit Necklace
« on: September 11, 2003, 04:53:27 PM »

I've been drooling over this thing for years.  Obviously my only way of finding it is probably ebay, or some other Japanese auction site.  However, does anybody OWN this thing?

Anime Jungle in Little Tokyo (CA) has a Beherit necklace that I guess was promotional, for 18 bucks.  However, the Beherit itself is a squishy plastic, and not really that great looking since its somewhat transparent. =\
