Shootin' the Breeze / are the specs on this computer good??
« on: December 29, 2007, 08:01:00 PM »
What do you guys think?

I might build something close to that, and if the price of building it is close to this price, I might just buy that. The video cards are around $250 a piece, so that's 500 just for that.

To help you understand, my old computer is a socket 479 2.8 pentium 4, with an AGP 7800GTS. It works great, except on the newer games. I figure if I get something like the above computer, I won't have to worry at least for a little while, yes?   :serpico:

Creation Station / That Damn Rose by: C
« on: November 06, 2007, 05:36:42 AM »
You know, the Rose you love? The one that glistens in the sun? The one that makes your imagination run wild and frees your thoughts like no other? The one object you break your back for, in the garden every day? The one that makes you push all the tulips, dandelions, tiger lilies, water buckets full of life, and any other thing out of the path you have made with you own hands to it?

The same Rose, that once you get to it, once you spend your last breath and minute diving for, sweating, hurting, bleeding, giving all you have, then *prick*

You look down and see your life, what keeps you going, a small crimson stream coming right out of the flesh that is yours. You look up to see the thorns, so sharp, so painful, so deep, ever so deep as the petals stares inside you like you are empty. Like you are not a man, not a soul, but a useless shell, made only for amusement, thrown away at the whim of the glancing smirk created by the petals as they blend together right before your eyes.

You catch yourself. You stand up. the Rose instantly turns into fear, knowing it's fun will be over as you are so much more powerful, so much stronger, as the inside of you was made of pure emotional high, no rest.

You tighten your newly gloved hand, the glove made to ignore and be immune to the thorns, you tighten it around the shears. The Rose can't get away obviously. So many thoughts hits you at once. You loved or do you love the Rose so much to give yourself, to win all the Rose offers. With one quick slash, you can get the Rose out of your life, I mean, as you look past this one, there are many more.

The shears are hovering around the stem of the Rose, the dew forming a very slight stream of moisture, looking like a tear almost. You pause, not knowing exactly what you are doing, not knowing what you want. It's so wonderful the Rose is, but you just can't take the thorns you hate. The Rose has a poison, a slow poison, a powerful and potent chemical. One more prick, one more glaze, one more slash of your skin, then you will no longer be the man you are, no more standing under the clouds of the heavens.

You stare, harder then you or anyone has every stared, cutting down walls, slicing people, boulders, buildings in half with a quick glance. Your other hand comes around the other side of the shears, and you still hesitate. You could have your life long dream with this Rose, you could go to the end of the world, you could live your dreams and make something of your life as if God Himself touched you and gave you divine favor and thrust you upon the heights of the greatest beings ever created....

....or there could be a single thorn.... hiding in the petals....  so soft..  glistening...  begging you to get closer, to win the world, no the worlds, no, the universe and heavens with just one touch......

Picking the Rose, winning all that can be one and making things right, or being stabbed and ending all that it has taken a lifetime for you to build.

Do you go with your blind conviction with the Rose you have been with, something which will take all of your strength and patience, or do you do the simplest of tasks as putting your hands together and cutting off those petals you thought so grand?

The choices have been placed before me. Is it really my decision after all this?....

Character Cove / The Carcus Chronicles
« on: September 06, 2007, 09:41:48 PM »
First off, I would like to state my humble opinion, how I came to this opinion, and then my thoughts on what would be a wonderful, intelligent discussion, capable of clearing up alot of loose thought on an otherwise well designed character.   :carcus:

Originally, I saw the anime, like most. That's what obtained my interest in Berserk. Let me tell you a side story and I will make this an interesting thread starter. I played the Dreamcast game years ago when I first got my Dreamcast. It was brand new. I went into Toy'R'us and picked it and a couple of games up. I looked around and saw "Sword of the Berserk: Guts Rage". I looked at the back and saw a guy with a huge sword and said what the hell. I played it and was captivated by the awesome graphics, which trumped the PS2 if you ask me, and the wonderful story with all the characters. Of course I wasn't 100% sure what exactly was happening because I had never seen or heard of Berserk before. After the first time I beat it, I would sit there and go to the movie reel and watch all the clips as a movie. I hated the end, because just like the anime, it just left off. No explanation.

I forgot all about it and went on my way. Years later, me and a now dud girlfriend were in Media Play, and Guts face caught my eye on the first DVD sitting in the new anime section. I bought it and went home to have a look. I loved it, went back for more. Only the first two were out at this time. I waited and bought them as they came out for the next year with high anticipation of the next DVD. After 6, that was it. WTF?@!?

Blew my mind, I had to know what happened! Years ago, there really wasn't a whole lot about Berserk on the net. didn't even come up. I searched and finally found it. I lurked for a long time, taking in all the info of the manga. Then I started posting here, very young and adolescent, of course that was almost 4 years ago. I had a wreck and was in a coma and have changed alot since then. I started the infamous gif-a-mania thread back in the day.

Ok, I'll stop down memory lane.  :guts:

The main subject at hand, is my second favorite character, Carcus.

Instead of asking about him, I will state a few facts and what I think about him, then anyone can take it from there or whatever. I just feel he needs a new thread to get all the haters off his back.

He was a dynamic character, always doing the best for Carcus while still staying in his box and loyal to Griffith no matter how much he disagreed with him. He was not pessimistic or optimistic, more like realistic which is why alot of times he didn't go with this unrealistic world and seemed to push other characters and readers buttons at once.

I loved that about Carcus. He was real. Everytime it seemed that everyone was getting all happy and yAy for Griffith and the team, no matter the circumstance, there was Carcus, to bring them down and say "Hey! That ain't gonna work dumbasses!". His character was built to annoy you, the love to hate type. He used to have his own little gang, had to give it up, friends killed by Guts, and was forced to like him, even follow Guts orders. No wonder he hated him. It's not that Carcus wasn't really smart enough to get rid of him, he just got so frustrated and angry, that his spontaneous and ignorant spur of the moment plans never worked.

I was really sad when he died. I know some might scoff at me, but I would love to see a good long flashback, or maybe have his soul resurrected, or maybe even a Carcus apostle or something. I know that's an extreme stretch, but I miss the guy.

People have complained and said before that he was not needed and was a waste of space, but really, if Berserk was happy go lucky and Griffith and Guts just had the greatest of times, would you really have read it, would it really be one of the greatest writings of fiction, ever. My opinion of course.

I could go on, but I will let my hands rest and let others plug in here. I know the people that have been here a while get tired of the Carcus bashing, not needed really, so here's a Carcus appreciation thread.

Anyone chime in.

 - C

ps. what if Miura writes in a son Carcus had, that grew up not knowing his dad, Carcus, and finally figured out all about the Hawks and Guts and such, I know, too much really, yes?   :carcus:

News & Not News / No Mr. Wizard?

My computer has exploded recently, leaving me with no home access to the world. I looked around, but I didn't see anybody mention the death of Mr. Wizard.

Here's a link for details:

I watched him as the young strapping lad I was, and it sadens me to hear of his untimely demise.  :judo:

Shootin' the Breeze / Year Zero
« on: April 07, 2007, 03:23:29 PM »
"Year Zero" is the name of the new Nine Inch Nails cd coming out in a couple of weeks. I would like to give a quick history on it's come about if you will, it is quite interesting.   :serpico:

Trent Reznor, lead man of NIN, announced he would like to start a new album during his last tour in 2006. Reznor said that Year Zero is a concept album, "could be about the end of the world," and marked a "shift in direction" in that it "doesn't sound like With Teeth (the 2006 album). The 2006 tour merchandise designs featured overt references to the United States military, which "reflects future directions."

Fifteen original tracks were considered for inclusion on the album, which Reznor described as "Highly conceptual. Quite noisy. Fucking cool." He further wrote that when he finishes a new album, he has to "go into battle with the people whose job it is to figure out how to sell the record. The only time that didn't happen was [for] With Teeth. This time, however, [he was] expecting an epic struggle. [Year Zero] is not a particularly friendly record and it certainly doesn't sound like anything else out there right now." Reznor has expressed his dissatisfaction with current trends in rock music, especially emo music.

Trent seems to be against huge advertising just to get your money. On April 4, 2007 a high-quality leak of the promotional disc supplied to listening parties was also leaked onto peer-to-peer networks. Perhaps to counteract and discourage any piracy of the leak, the entire album was made available for free streaming on the album's official website later that afternoon.

Perhaps in another response to the leak, Trent Reznor commissioned Q101 in Chicago to play the entire album on their radio station. He seems to think if they give it to you, and you really like it, you'll buy it anyways. I will be buying it when it comes out.

Another cool part is the usb drives he left around the world leading up to today. On February 12, 2007, a USB drive was found in a bathroom stall during a NIN concert in Lisbon, Portugal. It contained a high-quality MP3 of the track "My Violent Heart," which quickly circulated the Internet. Another USB drive containing the same track was purportedly found in Madrid, Spain.
On February 19, another USB drive was found in Barcelona, Spain, containing the track "Me, I'm Not" and an MP3 of static.
An image file found on the February 25, 2007 USB in Manchester, England, titled "invitation.jpg". On February 25, a third USB drive was found in Manchester, England, containing the track "In This Twilight" and an image of the Hollywood sign apparently demolished.

Concerning the use of USB drives as a form of promotion, Reznor explains:

ď The USB drive was simply a mechanism of leaking the music and data we wanted out there. The medium of the CD is outdated and irrelevant. It's really painfully obvious what people want - DRM-free music they can do what they want with. If the greedy record industry would embrace that concept I truly think people would pay for music and consume more of it."

That's awesome.    :guts:

There is a song I have listened to from the NIN page, "Me, I'm not". It's awesome. here is a link to the whole song from the NIN website, and I also posted the lyrics right below it, Excellent:    :casca:

Me, I'm Not <---link

well it's happening
never planned on this
you've got something I need
kind of dangerous
and I'm losing control
I'm not used to this
what you want from me
I'm not used to this

I can't shut it off
this thing I've begun
and it's hard to tell
just where it's coming from
and it's hard to see
what I'm capable of
and it's hard to believe
just, what I've become

hey, can we stop
me, I'm not
hey, can we stop
me, I'm not
hey, can we stop
me, I'm not
hey, can we stop
me, I'm not

I can swallow it down
keep it all inside
I define myself
by how well I hide
I feel it coming apart
well, at least I tried

I can win this war
by knowing not to fight
if I take it all back
someway, somehow
if I knew back then
what I know right now

hey can we stop
me, I'm not
hey can we stop
me, I'm not
hey, can we stop
me, I'm not
hey, can we stop
me, I'm not

I can't wait til it comes out, April 17th!!!!!!    :carcus:

Site & Forum News / Proposition for a new section
« on: April 05, 2007, 10:23:27 PM »
Hello everybody. I have been on the forum for a few years, and been through my skullknight ups and downs, but I am a very happy part of this place. Yes, I know most people hate me, or maybe they are just jealous.  :carcus:  Just kidding, seriously though, I was curious about a new topic or section if you choose to call it such.

I see sections like the movie section, and video games. Of course those are just extras and minor compared to Berserk obviously, but I was just thinking if maybe there could be an auto section, or cars to be more specific. I am big into vehicles of all kinds. I own a 310 hp (horsepower) Muscle car myself with a 0 - 60 time of 4.8 seconds. Now this section would be for ALL autos. Fast, slow, trucks, vans, domestic (US), imports, base models, super cars, EVERYTHING! I like most vehicles and enjoy learning about such. I like learning how things work and putting them to use, as well as just knowing facts and checking out pictures and videos of Excellent machines.

I was just wondering if it would be good to maybe get the others on this forum, whether they be regular posted or lurkers, and start a car section just to add more to the community. Also, there would have to be a bashing policy. That means if you come in bashing on a vehicle for a moronic reason, like saying "all imports are gay those damn ricers!", or "Found on Road Dead", just to get a kick out of yourself, then that would require forum punishment of DooM!

Now I do understand jokes and such, I'm just saying that too much of that, equals horrible, non quality posts and threads. I would just like to maybe see a cool auto section and maybe bring more people here. Yes, I guess maybe they could come here and randomly see cool cars then get into Berserk more and support Miura, but maybe that's a far fetched theory, but why not have a cool fun section, yes?   :serpico:

So what do you Admins and everyone else think? Be honest. Just a thought from  berserk fan wanting to add to the community.  :guts:

Creation Station / C's first attempt
« on: November 24, 2005, 10:21:36 PM »
This is my first attempt to ever color anything in Photoshop. With Lith's tutorial handy, which was an extraordinary help just to understand the basic principles, I have made my first coloring. Of course it is not the greatest, it might even be trash. I had fun making it and any pointers, hints, etc, would be cool.

Here is the original:

Here is what I colored:

Hope you all like. I went with the yellowish background because it reminded me of a type of evil aura and also I like the comic style, which just seem to match.  :guts:

Creation Station / A surprise!
« on: September 19, 2005, 09:34:28 PM »
I was supposed to get new software a long time ago, but alas that didn't happen.  :judo:

I did get it recently though.  :serpico:

I have created a new video that is alot better than anything else I have created. I spent some extra time on it to make it the best I could. I used 7 songs and put them all together to make a cool video, the words from the songs match whats going on, and with this software, it's just so much better.

Originally, the file was 1.2 gigs. With my conversion software, I made it a Divx file that is only 34 mb.

If you do not have Divx, are not sure if you have Divx, or you hear music but don't see anything, then go here:

click on divx play bundle in the blue square, which is free, and this will allow you to play any video that uses a Divx codec.

Right click and save as on the video title below, then watch it when it downloads. Also, turn up your speakers!  :guts:

Shootin' the Breeze / Ms. Answerman
« on: June 20, 2005, 10:42:05 PM »
I was bored and just killing time until later this evening. I was doing some random google searches on Berserk, when I came upon Ms. Answerman. Here is the link to what I originally found, which is just a filler with a email to this person from June 6:\

It hasn't been answered yet because it is too new, according to the filler at least. I then did a search on the site and came up with a profound debacle of a description given to the Berserk manga by this site, here is the link:

I believe this is just preposterous, especially for a site that actually does a bit of business. I was just curious what everyone else thinks. I put this in the nursery because I was not sure as to the correct section this would go into, it is directly Berserk related, if you choose to move it Aaz, or if this is the right section, then here it is.

Should I or someone else maybe send them an email or get in contact to clean the name of Berserk up a bit, or should we just let a dead dog lie?  ???

PS. maybe we could get them to put a link in there for better info, yes?  8)

Berserk Merchandise / My new collection
« on: May 15, 2005, 09:25:46 PM »
I think this is the right place to put this, regardless, I visited my local Media Play today. That is the best place around here to get Anime/Manga stuff. In the past they only have one figure at a time. They only get a new one once a year.  :( I walked in today, and they had the Vol. 4 mini-figure collection, ALL OF IT!!!  I was so happy, I bought it all!!  ;D I was so excited I came home and put them out immediately:

(I labeled the characters if you could not tell  :))

I know alot of you probably wont care, I was just so happy they have them locally now!!

On a side topic, I am not sure if any of you remember my old Skullknight figure that would never stand up, here is the thread it was in:

HD gave me a good idea with the super glue, but alas, they only lasted 10 days.  :'( As I was putting out my new collection today, it dawned on me. Since I totally moved everthing around to make it fit, I had a place where Sk would work!:

That's right, I leaned him on a pole!!! He stands there omnipotently like he should now!!!!!

I am so happy with my new collection. I'm sure many of you have alot better Berserk things than I, but I am just happy to get them and support Miura at the same time.  8)

Have a pleasant evening all!

Speculation Nation / The most important speculation of 247
« on: October 26, 2004, 01:51:52 AM »
will guts come in and beat the shit out of everyone, or will they see his power and decide to help him?

the more feasible is of course for him to kill them and some run away, but if they decide to help him, will it be for a price?

and if the more feasible happens, he kicks their ass and a few might escape, will word leak to *gasp*, griffith?!?

just curious of all the speculations and what all the different minds on the board think? ???

talk to you later

hello everyone :),

not much has happened here the last couple of days on the board besides the latest chapter,

so i figured i would post about somehting i thought was interesting, maybe not the most important thread in the world, but i thought it might be fun ;D

i used the search button and didnt find anything about guts dressing up as a pirate,

why would he dress up as a pirate? ???

to avoid being seen or captured,

or he might try stealth mode† ;D

i was just curious if anyone thought there might be a possibility of that,

we have never seen it before, but there is alot of things we have never seen before :D,

just curious as to your thoughts 8)

hello everyone,

but alas, it was wrong :(,

i apologize, and i mean it,

no links to a middle finger or anything goofy like that,

i had my fun at you alls expense,

it was in the trashcan where anything goes though,

say what you will, but i will admit it,

i was wrong,

i hope you all at least dont hate me,

everyone have a great evening, and when i get home i will see the new chapter and be happy :D,

once again it was my fault, i got caught up at work and i am sorry for any anger i have caused,

Creation Station / newer music video!
« on: September 17, 2004, 04:54:49 AM »
hello everyone!

ive been wanting to get into this for a while,

i just havent had a chance to do it,

but, earlier tonight, with the help of a few items , 3 free low-end software programs, a low quality video, and a low quality mp3 ,

super c is proud to bring you my first music video ever!

now i will work on the editing, and get better software,

so just like the gifs these will get better,

anyways, i used an awesome song i like (of course ;D) turn it up loud!!, and here are the lyrics:

Endless day
We search for what we hold inside
So hard to find
Luck turns
Will the fallen ever reach within
And rise again

For the rest of my life
I will find the answers
That were always here
I will find the meaning this time
I will fight the end
Till the end is here

Wasted time
With words that seem to break our will
They blind us still
Without a care
They tarnish what we hold so dear
What was once so clear

For the rest of my life
I will find the answers
That were always here
I will find the meaning this time
I will fight the end
Till the end is here† †8)

but here it is!:
(it is the best if you right click and save as)

The best first video EVER!!!

let me know what you think!

i hope everyone enjoys and agrees,

Berserk is the best!!!!

Shootin' the Breeze / not again
« on: August 29, 2004, 05:03:38 AM »
this is the billionth time in a row this has happened ::),

its extremely annoying,

heres the story:

im about to go to bed, so i can get up and go to church in the morning (our annual ice cream social is tomorrow† ;D),

i excersice, then leave a shower (im not a thief so i never take one 8)),

i go to turn off my light, then i see it,

for the billionth time like i stated earlier,

as i gaze into my beautiful display case, of all my Berserk figures,

i got him back in december for Christmas and he has never stood for more than a week,

heres the side of ol no stand:

and heres the bastard on his face:

sorry the pictures arent of very good quality, but im tired and frustrated,

ive placed his feet left, right, left and right, the same directions, and of course i always make sure his feet are in the feet holes,

i was wondering if anybody here has one and if it does the same thing,

i also suppose i might have recieved a lemon-knight,

i was hoping that the all knowing super powerful skullknight could at least stand,

hell if he even lasted for a month i would be happy,

i would only have to fix him 12 times a year :D,

let me know if anyone knows how to fix it ???,

short of duct tape :-X
