Buying / Selling / Need to replace my Berserk collection
« on: April 13, 2015, 05:07:17 PM »
Hey everyone! It's been awhile. Long story short, I've moved around a bit over the last couple years and I'm missing a bunch of my books. The ones I'm not missing are in rough shape. I've decided to replace my entire US version Berserk collection with brand new books.

Anyone selling or know of a place I can buy them on the cheap? I paid full price for all of them back in the day, so it'd be nice to save now if possible.

Thanks in advance!

Dragon's Dogma

We all know it includes Berserk goodness. Now it also comes with the RE6 demo!

Should we make a new thread for this game?

Capcom also revealed the pre-order incentives for the game. Customers who pre-order from GameStop will receive the Pawn Upgrade Pack with "additional Rift Crystals allowing them to rent higher level experience Pawns from the outset." Those who pre-order from Best Buy get an Armor Upgrade Pack, and Amazon customers will receive a Weapon Upgrade Pack.

Could this be the Berserk items?!?!?!?!?

Video Games / Dark Souls

Dark Souls.

Ladies and gentleman, which of you are delving into this?

I began last night. It's gorgeous and plays noticeably smoother than it's predecessor. Opted to start as a female Knight since my character in DS was male. :slan: I spent around 15-20 minutes making my character actually look good. The game begins and cue me saying, "Oh, she's undead." :ganishka:

Is it just me, but does anyone else miss the Nexus? I feel like I'm going to get very lost in this game.

Movies, TV, Books & Music / Doctor Who
« on: June 01, 2010, 06:11:43 PM »
I recently watched all the Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant series. It's a very fun show. Not to be taken super seriously but it's definitely entertaining. The new season is now being shown on BBC America with Matt Smith playing The Doctor.

Anyone else watching?

In case anyone is wondering what Doctor Who is about:

If you choose to begin watching, I suggest starting when Eccleston is the Doctor. That's when the series was relaunched.

Movies, TV, Books & Music / Directors to keep an eye on.
« on: March 31, 2010, 07:06:37 PM »
Forget the famous chaps for a bit. Which relatively unknown directors are up and coming in your books? Who are you guys most looking forward to seeing more films from?

I'll kick it off.

Neill Blomkamp (District 9)

Personally, I'm curious what you guys think. I need to watch new, good movies.

Video Games / The Playstation Move

Much like the iPad, the perceived value of the PlayStation Move is inherently tied to the quality of the software offered for it, and while many may not see a need for the PlayStation Move at launch, it could very well expand into an alluring platform addition.

I've tested out the Wii's boxing game and wasn't impressed. Maybe this will actually be fun...or not.

Video Games / Error 8001050F: The Death of the PSN
« on: March 01, 2010, 06:51:52 PM »

An error in the internal settings of the PlayStation 3 is crippling certain consoles. The affected PS3s can't play games or connect to the PlayStation Network, and their system clocks have been automatically reset to 12/31/99. Worse yet, Trophies earned before syncing the system appear to be lost and in some cases "corrupted", which would make it seem like you'll never get them back again.

I turned on my system, noticed the date and immediately shut it off. Only to read Sony advises you to keep your system off.  :judo:

Shootin' the Breeze / 8.8 Chilean Earthquake
« on: February 27, 2010, 10:32:01 AM »
Santiago, Chile was just hit with an 8.8 magnitude Earthquake (worse than Haiti's which was 7.0).

My father was in the capital, Santiago, and I am unable to get in touch with him to see if he's alright.

I know there's some Chilean members (I believe) that post here. I hope you all are safe.

Please keep everyone in Chile and my father in your prayers.

Creation Station / Comic book templates?
« on: October 16, 2008, 10:02:47 AM »
I was wondering if anyone knew if or where comic book template programs were available. Do they even exist as say, an industry standard?
If anyone can help it's be very appreciated

Shootin' the Breeze / Smartphones

I know some of you out there are iPhone users. The new 2.1 update is supposed to be available today (it's up on their site)

However, when I go to check for new update it says that mine is up to date (mine is 2.0.2), so something's up. I know I'm using the right version of iTunes (8).

This going on with anyone else?

What will happen to the remains of Ganishka's army? Forget the Kushan soldiers, I'm focusing on the Daka and Daiba in particular.

Does anyone think Daiba will play any role in this upcoming battle? What of the remaining Daka? It seems Ganishka will hardly need any assistance from his now 'ant-like' army. Anyone think Daiba will play any part in the future of Berserk or do you think he'll simply be accidently squished by his master?

I wonder if he and the Daka DO survive this battle, if they'd still oppose Griffith? We know the remaining Daka are on a ship somewhere. (Although I could be incorrect in regards to their current location) Daiba must've flown into Wyndham on his pet.

So with Ganishka's inevitable downfall do you think that guarantees the downfall/death of Daiba and the Daka?

Personally, I hope Daiba makes it out alive and escapes with the Daka. To what avail? I do not know.

Your thoughts...

Video Games / Ninja Gaiden 2
« on: September 12, 2007, 03:19:56 PM »
Well now. Ninja Gaiden 2 everyone.

First one was great. This one is 'exclusively' for 360.
"Currently, Ninja Gaiden 2 is set for a worldwide release on the Xbox 360 sometime in 2008. However, unlike its predecessors, it won't be ported to other consoles down the line. Instead of being published by Tecmo, holder of the Ninja Gaiden license, the game is being bankrolled and distributed directly by Microsoft Game Studios."

A random thought (and possibly a request).

Berserk Desktop Icons would be fuckin' awesome. I'm not talented enough to make them.  :judo:  Anyone up to it? Come on, you know 99% of members here at SK would love em. :guts:

The $27 million Creation Museum, a few miles south of Cincinnati, tells a biblical version of the Earth's history, asserting that the planet is just a few thousand years old and man and the giant lizards once coexisted.

Creation Museum = Stupid.

Movies, TV, Books & Music / Resident Evil: Extinction

Here we go again.
Well, from the teaser, Vegas is no more. Oh no.  :schierke:
Idk, it's basically Resident Evil meets Mad Max.
I know I hate these flicks, then every once in awhile I find someone who thinks they rock.
People are stupid.
P.S. I'm sick of the Resident Evil 'Commercial that turns into a trailer' style.

Boo to this.

News & Not News / Anna Nichole Smith is DEAD

Movies, TV, Books & Music / The Walking Dead
« on: September 22, 2006, 06:14:59 PM »
I think it's time this fantastic series was given a thread!

The Walking Dead is centered around small-town police officer in Kentucky named Rick Grimes, his family, and a number of other survivors who have banded together in order to survive after the world is overrun with zombies. As the series progresses, Rick and the others become more developed, and their personalities shift under the stress of a zombie apocalypse. Fighting growing despair—and occasionally each other—the group searches for a secure location which they can finally call home.
                                                                               *taken from Wikipedia*

As it stands, issue #31 was just released this week. They're 5 TPB's out there. Days Gone Bye, Miles Behind Us, Safety Behind Bars, The Heart's Desire and the Best Defense.

If you're looking for a new series to sink your teeth into, look no further. I can say so much about this series, so I'll just say this.
If you like Zombies, good character development, and a solid storyline...CHECK THIS SERIES OUT!

Anyone on SK reading this?

Movies, TV, Books & Music / DARK HORSE- MANHWA LINE
« on: September 22, 2006, 05:51:34 PM »
Saw this awhile ago on Dark Horse's website. Maybe some of you know about these series and maybe some of you don't. So if this is old news to everyone I apologize in advance.

Dark Horse is now getting into Korean Manga...or Manhwa. Personally I don't know of any 'manhwa' besides King of Hell, which is meh, IMO. I checked these out and I have to say they look interesting.

First up

Check out the preview.

SHAMAN WARRIOR   (original title is DANGU) thanx Aaz

No preview.  :(

Both seem interesting, but I won't know 'till I get my mangy paws on 'em. Discuss.
