Buying / Selling / [FS] 20th Anniversary Guts (bloody ver.)
« on: March 25, 2015, 11:22:58 PM »
Hi all!

Been a while since I've crept back on here. I'm moving and I really don't have room for my statues anymore.

20th Anniversary Armored Berserk (bloody ver) - 1200 USD, pre-shipping, negotiable
Femto (black ver.) - 100 USD, ", "

TBH I've done some light searching and still can't find any recent sales, so I hope it's okay to take offers via PM.
Once I've found a price (I've messaged a few people, waiting to hear back), I'll update this thread with an actual price.

I ship internationally and have the product on hand. As soon as the transaction goes through, I'll head over to the post office and send it off :)

Cheers!

Buying / Selling / [FS] Selling Berserk Statues
« on: August 20, 2012, 09:43:25 PM »
Yep, it's that time again. Dad passed away a few months ago, need some extra dough to pay off some bills. I'm not in a financial disaster or anything, but I'm definitely out of my comfort zone. Looking around my room, there are a few things I could definitely do without. All items listed have only ever been displayed in a glass case. All items will come with original box.

Zodd III - $150
Zodd Senma - $350
Femto (black) - $250

I'll provide pics if you're seriously interested.
Thanks again, love you guys :)

Hey guys,

I'm making some room for new statues coming in by getting rid of some older stuff. The two that I'm looking to sell are:

1. Guts, Kingdom of Falconia (#296)
2. Skull Knight, standing, weathered green (#1634) *part of SK's hilt is broken, but you can't even see it. will mail it to you (or glue it on for you).

Both are in great condition and have only ever been displayed inside of a glass case.
They both come with original boxes, although the Guts box is damaged.

I'm asking for $120 for each of these, which is about $30 off market price for both. I'm open to negotiate deals if you want to buy both simultaneously.

Thanks!!

Hey guys, it's been a while since I've posted here. I've been fairly busy with school and work and haven't had much extra time to dabble with Berserk statues any more. In fact, I just don't have any more money right now for them. For those of you who do not know, my major is advertising design, and at the end of our schooling, we have to spend a gagillion dollars on our personal branding stationery (business cards, letterheads, etc), a high-quality printed portfolio, a booth for our portfolio show, and various other expensive bells and whistles. It's adding up to a bit more than I originally expected. I figured since my display cases are a bit overloaded right now, that I could hopefully move some of these statues both to clear up some temporary room and give me extra monetary padding for this coming month. Nothing crazy for sale, just some of the older statues that are great for starting out anyone's collection (or for those who missed out on them earlier). I'm going to lowball myself here because I'd really much rather have the money than be concerned with breaking even. If you have any offers, go ahead and make them too.

Guts: Kingdom of Falconia @ 100

Griffith: Millenium Falcon I @ 100 SOLD
Griffith: The Shooting Star Night (Purple Mantle w/ Locus Bust) @ 100 SOLD
Guts: Hawk Soldier (LE - Green/Blue Cape w/o helmet) @ 100 SOLD
Daiba (from 20th Anniversary statue) @ 50 SOLD

Here are photos of my cases here:
http://www.skullknight.net/forum/index.php?topic=5082.msg189157#msg189157

All of my statues have been kept in cases and are dust/sunlight free. I have the original boxes for all of these (some of them might be slightly damaged), so expect safe shipping. That said, domestic shipping is going to cost a bit (my guess is $40-50 bucks, depending on weight), so please be aware of that. I also consider these prices to be PRETTY DARN GOOD - I remember exactly what I paid for each statue, and I'm probably undercutting myself by a few hundred dollars here. As I've stated though, the goal is to move these quickly for some quick dough, not to make a profit or even break even. So please hurry! My dilemma is your easy fortune!  :SK:

News from ART OF WAR: 『Guts』 2010 ver. 1/6 scale

Dear Customers,

We are pleased to inform you our latest item, "『Guts』 2010 ver. 1/6 scale", will be open for preorder at 12:00 p.m. (noon) 12th June, 2010 (Japanese time).

“『Guts』 2010 ver. 1/6 scale” is a large-sized statue, which the total length is over 50 cm and Gut’s mantle is around 34 cm wide. Compared with previous works, this statue’s armor and mantle have been more carefully crafted. We tried to present an image that Guts already controlled the armor completely, since the armor was a perfect fit. In addition, when Guts went down on his knees and swung the Dragon Slayer, Gut’s mantle was flying in the wind and featured a dramatic shape. Moreover, in order to represent the overwhelming power of Guts, we polished the armor and made it with metallic shine. As a Berserk’s fan, you will love this novel design.

There are two versions of this project. For Exclusive Version I, we chose Senma Solider as a special attachment. Although Senma Solider is tiny, he will catch your attention absolutely by his humorous pose.

Pretty, yes, but not quite sure what to think of this one.

-It's a similar pose to the first Berserk's Armor.
-We just had a massive (though unscaled) Berserk's Armor.
-One of the chief differences is that this one is cheaper than its former.
-Will I be getting this one? Not sure yet, gotta see more pictures, but my initial verdict is no since I already own the 20th Anniversary Guts.

Thoughts?

Not terribly excited, but the final verdict will have to wait till I see the rest of the base and how good the details are on Femto.
Also note that there will only be a hundred of these made.

Video Games / Bayonetta
« on: January 12, 2010, 03:12:12 PM »

This game is living up to the hype for me.

I'm not sure if the game deserves the 40/40 that Famitsu awarded it, but it's damn sure close to it. This game is 100% meant to have tons of replay value (note cut-scenes that revert back to real time seamlessly - you basically have to know exactly when things are going to happen or not get a platinum every level). You have to learn to recognize enemy attack patterns and dodge to activate Witch Time, taunt, and pump up your combo scores without ever getting hit. Bayonetta has a lot more gameplay depth than people give it credit for - it's not just all mashing and beating hordes of enemies up, especially on harder difficulties.

The story is decent. It's slightly discombobulated, but it makes sense in the end. Not the forte, I'll say, but the characters definitely make up for it. Bayonetta's sassy personality tickles my fancy and I really enjoyed the over-the-top ridiculousness of the entire game. It's really a bunch of un-abashed fun.

Cheers.

Disclaimer: This is indeed a Thai kit. I know many of you are against this, and I am sorry if this offends you in any way. I do, in fact, intend to purchase a legit version in the future to work on again, but the reason I did not in the first place was because I had scrounged YJA for several months before giving in to the clutches of ebay's recasters. To my dismay, I had found out that the kit recently popped up (and is still) on YJA. I would purchase that particular one, but I currently don't have any extra money for it. I was impatient, yes, but not ignorant. I have no excuse, and I do intend to pay my dues in the future, so if possible, I ask that we please keep any discrepancies about this issue in PMs. I would greatly appreciate that.

I apologize in advance for the song and dance - this is my first resin kit and the results came far beyond my expectations, so I may get carried away with WIP photos and writing. Griffith is my favorite character in Berserk, and thus this was the only kit I really wanted to see happen. I wouldn't have been satisfied with the 1/15 AoW statue. I would also like to thank Joa in particular for both the inspiration and great amounts of advice during the construction of this kit. Without him and the hobby community, I would not have been able to attempt this feat.

A comment on the kit itself and my decisions on how to construct it -
I had originally wanted to follow the traditional color scheme (blue lightning bolts, silver armor, etc.) but then decided against it. After careful consideration and research, I consulted a few friends and we all ended up agreeing that performing an ivory white paint job (much like Art of War's Griffith repaints) would much better depict the "immaculate white hawk" that I had originally intended to portray. With that came the gold splattering on the base and the flag idea, which was inspiration drawn directly from one of Griffith's victory scenes in the manga. A little bit of improvisation and the use of a pastel purple instead of the over-used, bludgeoning blue took the kit a long way forward. Once again, I am extremely satisfied with the results, and I hope to do more of these things in the future!

I'm going to briefly go over some of the major points in my prep work, just so you can get an idea of what I did to put this thing together. And yea, don't buy Thai if you ever have the option not to  :mozgus:
(if you want to see my entire WIP postings, visit my blog @ banirasoruto.blogspot.com)

The kit in its entirety. I'm not sure how many pieces there are in total, because a lot were broken and a few were missing.

Take Griffith's helm for example. There's a buckle melded onto the top of it and a huge piece of flash by the nose.

The larger pieces had no problem fitting together, like the horse's main body below.

Soooo...I had to do a little "convincing". By the way, this stuff does not heat easily. I had to hold each piece in scalding water for several minutes before they became malleable enough for me to manipulate.

Filled the bottom of the rock base with coins and an iron chain as a counterweight, and sealed the bottom with an inch of bondo.

I had to reconstruct parts of the sword and horse helmet because they were broken and/or missing  :chomp: See the recurring theme?  :troll:

The hardest part about this kit was attaching all the pieces of the horse's cloak. I'm not sure if it's because the Thai resin is so heavy, but I had to use atrocious amounts of masking tape to hold the pieces in place while the epoxy glue slowly set.

Painted Griffith! Ivory white armor, pastel lavender shirt, and golden bolts.

Created the flags out of thin sheets of brass.

I took this straight from Joa's Zodd Revelations WIP. I needed something to secure this insanely tall base.

Added extra rocks made from putty and the Band of the Hawk crest to the plaque. I also painted the base with several dark, earthen washes and used a toothbrush to splatter flakes of gold all over. The effect came out nicely (see the photos at the bottom).

Hand painted all the hawk crests!

I had first wanted to put flowers around the base, but couldn't find any. I then decided that Autumn foliage would do nicely to compliment Griffith.

Five flags surrounding the base.

The white decal just wasn't doing it for me, so I painted the hawk crest gold and peeled off the decal, leaving a crisp rendition!

And that concludes my month-long journey! Check out the results!

Hope you enjoyed it! :griffnotevil:

Berserk Miscellaneous / Looking for SK emblem decal
« on: January 05, 2008, 08:26:46 AM »
Hey guys,

I'm looking for a high-res (or as good as res possible) image of SK's emblem, the rose with thorns circling it.
If anyone has one or can make one for me, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Manga Mausoleum / Favorite Quote?
« on: December 22, 2007, 09:18:31 AM »
As a disclaimer, I'd like everyone to note that translations do vary and may alter the actual meanings, impact, and intention of whichever line you choose. So be please careful where you get the line from and try to use an accurate translation.

Other than that, there aren't any threads asking peoples' favorite lines from the series. Granted, much of the power is lost in translation, there are definitely still several memorable dialogues worth mentioning. The lines don't have to be word for word, but at least describe the scene and tell us why you think those lines were cool / meaningful / or struck a chord for you.

Cheers!

As for some of my favorite....

When Griffith says, "...I sacrifice"

before the gigantic hand encloses on his puny body. So much emotion in two words followed by a tide of hell that would forever change the paths of all the characters in Berserk.

and

When Zodd inquires SK about the berserker armor, "Dear friend / enemy. Do you really intend on allowing him to follow the same path as you? The path down the road of hell?"
I don't know what exactly about this line struck a chord in me, but it really makes you feel the ancient aura between the two rivals. Between Zodd referring to SK as a "friend" and "enemy" at the same time as well as the "path of hell" that SK had apparently taken, more and more questions popped into my head about each of their pasts and how they became what they were.

and finally

When Guts and company return from the Qliphoth, Guts reminisces with a simple, "Friends...Who would've thought I'd ever have them again..."
The nostalgia from the two-page spread with the old Band of the Hawk was overwhelming for me.
