I just got Clive Barkers book Mr.B Gone didnt get a chance to really sit down and read it but I am 16 or 20 pages in. Its pretty interesting it isnt like reading a book more like the book is talking to you which I find pretty neat. This is my first CB book I hope I enjoy it will post more if anyone is interested in knowing about it.
I really enjoy that book that one of Clive Barkers best books and the writing is just excellent, I really like how Mr. B Gone tries to do evil things and they just happen to look silly to me or when he explain how he was going to torture someone and the reader, that great

For some reason I've felt more of a connection with The Dark Tower series than any other books I've read. My most favorite was The Drawing of the Three. I kinda wish they would of made the comic book series out of The Gunslinger other than The Wizard and Glass :( Don't get me wrong, good comics.. but I would of loved to have seen one of the other books in comic book form.
That was indeed my favorite work from him. I don't know guys I really enjoy the Dark Tower series but then I'm always about mixing it up. I think it get sort of boring when you are reading and 'oh Mr. Magic just cast a spell' but instead if they see something like 'oh Mr. Magic is eating those kids testicles in order to get to the underworld and open dimensional portals by binding their souls to mutated dogs' I mean its the way the write brings up. Anyone can write anything however not anyone can make any writing look good or excellent. I think King makes concepts that otherwise would be dis-carted into books and generally their good. That impressive by itself.

Bringing that into the mixture how come there no more Berserk video games? Gosh Bleach and Naruto overwhelm the anime video games and I'm just getting sort of tire of them

I can't say for sure but from what I gather I think Musashi would consider a victory a victory regardless what is done, well maybe kidnapping people and hiding behind women and children

Vagabond / Re: Musashi Kill Count
« on: April 02, 2009, 02:13:32 AM »
Yes, it's not actually kills, I just thought it made for a more compelling thread title, it's actually a list of men Musashi has crossed swords with and gotten the better of. There's people he's killed out right, cut down, overpowered, or who simply conceded. To it's basically like a fighters win record, but this gives me an idea, like I should go through and count what kind of win each was, like by decision or TKO. =)

Like branded said, I just went through the volumes paying special attention to all of Musashi's encounters and battles. There's still a few sequences open to the interpretation of the standards one applies though. I tried to be conservative, but sometimes there'd be conflicting accounts, like where it would show him surrounded by a certain number of enemies, but then you see him fight a different number of them, and then there's yet another number of bodies around him afterward. Then it becomes complicated.
I must say I'm totally impress with that! I don't think I could possibly count them and come up with actual number

I am also a foreigner who has been here for 13 years and I'm also in the process of getting a residen alien card and I am working, you just have to know how to look. You don't need a permission because there are jobs that pay cash. So coming from someone who has the experience in that, you can get a job. So no more excuses sir.
You totally have to show me where too look because man I been looking for a job and can't find anything

Musashi's expression is an indication of his shock dealing with the idea that he retire from the way of the sword to settle down with a job and a family, not the location. He also seems a bit surprised that such a path is open to him as well.
most likely you guys are right and just ridding between the lines and trying too hard

Yes that sounds correct but much of the kabuki has large effects done simply, not sure if you ever heard of demon river. Don't actually know the full translation name but it had several parts with tremendous effect and it was done simple, so I think those parts were Musashi sees his inner bloodlust can be done too

I go with what you brought of several people he killed could have officially die from wounds or complicating so those would not be counted as kill to me but how did you came up with the number 171 if I may ask?

Yeah, I'd even say that's an understatement.
\Well, in Matahachi's case, he'd push them down a hill and run away.
that made me laugh so hard but in all serious yes he is Musashi very foil

Considering that he was in fact a real swordsmen, a historical figure. I would admit he is fascinating and legendary. Although, not every single detail is written, there's still enough proof of his greatness.

YEah, risking your life to achieve the goal of being the greatest swordsman ever is sure shallow.  :schierke: Musashi why didn't you just turned out like Tsujikaze Tenma. There's a real role model.
Not saying Tenma is an example to live by but Musashi is not the greatest person I really prefer Takuan as person as he even thought Musashi about what is life, death and what it means to take a life. You have to say before that Musashi was not the best person and after that his one goal is to battle, he does care for people but takes so long for him to demonstrate

Uhh, what? What exactly gave you the impression he didn't know about Edo? He's taken aback by the proposal that he go there and teach, but that's it.
Just the way he express himself and his face emotions

My old friend use to work for Budweiser. I remember one day a priest shouting curses at us for "working with the devils drinks" and about two weeks later the priest's brother who was teacher that time end up having a relationship with some middle school girl and got fire and no one even got close the priest. So what he do? The hypocritical ass starts to drink like son bitch
