Berserk Miscellaneous / Re: Review/Informations - PS2 Berserk game
« on: October 15, 2004, 04:53:34 PM »
I've heard that there are some problems playing the game with a modified system, though.

Nah...
It works even better from Hard Drive using HDLoader.
Really reduces loading times.

Berserk Miscellaneous / What interests you the most in Berserk?
« on: September 15, 2004, 04:53:15 PM »
After years of reading this story I still think the original story (first 16 volumes or so) was the best part of what's happened so far, but what keeps me reading is not so much the end of the story, but the begining that we have only glimpsed at.  I want to know more about the history of Midland.  The trip to elfhelm is dragging IMO.

Any other opinions?

Manga Mausoleum / Re: What happened to the Sword of Resonance?
« on: September 10, 2004, 05:31:55 PM »
He has been using that sword for a VERY long time.
If you look back at the chapters immeadiately after Guts gets the berserk armor you see an image of the armor's previous user getting his blood drained, holding a sword that looks exactly like Skully's... ala it was Skully.

Just remembered: sword used against Zodd looks a little different... so who knows.

Pfffff, I'm just waiting for the day people have Berserk scans in flash with someone fucking reading it to them as it automatically goes from page to page. They can even do the voices!

ooh ooh, that would be great.
Let's start a thread on which of our favorite actors should do the voices for the characters that weren't in the anime yet.

BTW when is second season coming!!!!!

Berserk Miscellaneous / Re:How did you get into Berserk?
« on: July 01, 2004, 01:56:27 PM »
Well I wouldn't consider my self an old fan, but back in the late 90's when the fansubs started coming out I got kinda in to it.  Then when it finished I got really hooked so I went searching on the Internet and found BSOM.  And then maybe a year or so later Walter posted the "Post Eclipse Manga scans" on a very early version of this website, and I got hooked on the manga.

Thanks again Walt.

I'm pretty surprised that Guts is not able to use his throwing knives, his cannon, or his mini-bombs. Hopefully those will be useable at some point in the full game.

Um, Hold L1 and press a button, you can do arrows, knives, cannon, or bombs.
All are working in demo.

Cannon - an awesome looking blast forward
Knife - Throws and makes enemy stumble
Arrows - a barrage of arrows that hit multiple enemies
Minibomb - hard to see but causes a boom

Okay, So It dl'd pretty fast...

The game is pretty fun.  It's neat to see the the new crew talk and stuff.
The game play is pretty solid.  The sword swings have some momentum too that kinda prevents you from turning as fast as when you're swinging, which is cool.  The dash also forces you to pause a moment.  Its solid.
Plays mostly like the DC version but with much better graphics.  The cannon shot is really awesome, the summons are kinda gay, but it's all good.

Please ask questions, because this review sucks....
I'm going to go play more.

Downloading as I type...will review tomorrow if it finishes tonight.

This will be my first real benefit of having a mod chip.  8)

Way to go Walt,
You're really doing a great job.
You've definately locked yourself even more firmly into hosting the premire Berserk website.  8)

BTW If you need help on small projects don't hesitate to post requests, I'm sure some of us could find the time to do them...

Site & Forum News / Re:Is this site ever going to be updated?
« on: April 05, 2004, 08:56:01 PM »
Hey Walt,

You can just cut and paste the source from this snippet into the bottom your trans page.  You'll have to put the pictures in the right places of course but I referenced the same directory structure so....

Volume 26 Table

I can do 27 like this too if you guys want...
Since the board based translations are organized now and usually the most up to date I think that works best for the links.

Speculation Nation / Re:why didnt Charlotte get pregnant?
« on: March 08, 2004, 02:51:25 PM »
I think Casca's child was actually from Guts.  But Femto's special spew turn the child into an abomination that was bron prematurely. Now that Femto is no more, Griffith would probably have a human child with Charolette.

Speculation Nation / Re:Is the Berserk World Unbalanced?
« on: March 04, 2004, 03:47:25 PM »
Yep there is no good or evil in the series.
So it's not unbalanced.

It's all very realtive to the nature of the inhabitants of Midland.

« on: March 04, 2004, 03:38:59 PM »
Also something important to keep in mind is that pregnancy isn't guaranteed.  Just because Griffith and Charlotte had sex doesn't mean she'll automatically without a doubt be pregnant.  It doesn't work that way.

Wow.  Sex Ed.
I forget the the average age of the Internet is 12, and might not realize this.

I think the most logical translation is:

"Dude watch the door for cops while we kill these people."

Megaman 2's opening theme is the best theme ever.

The end music almost makes me cry.
I always see that helmet sitting alone on the open hill.

This game had the best music ever, IMHO.

P.S. This is where you can get original songs straight from game:

I've been lookin to download that for a while now, I just can't find it.

It's like 13 bucks shipped, but good luck.
Since it's such a little known title it will be hard to find, probably.
Worth the 13 bucks tho, IMO.

Saw this a the theaters last year.
It's was really good for a music oriented anime.

Much better than Robot Carnival IMO.

That episode was inspired by the animators love for Batman: The animated Series.  He's supposed to be a cross between The Joker and Penguin.

FYI

Confirmed. You'll have to deal with it.
(also, Guts and the others will indeed be back in the next episode)

Thanks,
Now can we get back to the important stuff like who's sleeping with Zodd.

Speculation Nation / Re:Mark
« on: February 12, 2004, 04:01:12 PM »
Has anyone else thouhght this?

Two linked spirals -of Karma?- (two maybe to cover any direction of the two possible so that with every complete circle we have a mirror of their beginning).

In the center of those there is an axe(line in the center) that could be a plan?

From our prospective we see two meeting points of the axe with the spirals(one in the beggining and one in the middle): the two final eclipses?

After the middle point the plan ends to a crown: Griffith being a king?

Note also that the points in the end are five: Godhand?

Note also that there is no meeting point or conclusion after those ends: future unknown for the plan or Godhands(at least to our perspective)?

Well if this is no total Bullshit there is a slight possibility that when Griffith becomes king all the five of godhands manifest on earth.

Oh...
I looked in this thread for Mark.
But I guess he just took a shit and left.
