Wouldn't that be a little too easy? I like the dangerous price Miura gave the power of the armor. It fits so seamlessly in with all the other elements of the series that show that power comes with a price. I wouldn't want that to be written away with some magic from the elf king.

Aye I agree, the same with Guts gaining back his other eye. He'd curbstomp all of his enemies if he got it back.

Oi which sense do you suppose Guts will lose this time?

Miura you jerk, I'm 19 man, I'm still a spring chicken.  :guts:

Other then that I am so goddamn elated.

Well you can forget Michael Bell voicing Guts. I was at the NY ComicCon/Anime Festival and dude was barely able to recall playing Guts in Sword of Berserk Guts Rage. He was like O.o and then when he figured it out his eyes lit up like  :isidro: "Oh yeah I remember now!". Dude just shook his head when I mentioned the new anime.

I don't know, Dwarfkicker.  Whoever did the english voice for Casca sounded atrocious to me.

I personally prefer the original voices with subtitles, but also agree that having dubs is a useful tool for getting unfamiliar people interested.  I recently told my girlfriend the entire story in great detail and she is actually interested in berserk now.  However she pretty much can't stand anime with subtitles, so I really hope they have some decent english voice-overs so I can enjoy them with her.

When I was  trying to introduce my aunt, my cousin and his friend to a anime live action prequel (Crows Zero) they were staring at me like I was crazy when I suggested watching it with jap audio and english subtitles. Although, I didn't know what they were think when I had it on the dub because to me it sounded bloody awful. The only ones able to understand the beauty of untainted anime/movie w/eng subtitles are people like a few of my anime buds from High school and my dad.

That's nearly my position. But i'm not against using CG in Anime, but it is indeed hard to embed it well. Also I had the feeling that cg could olden very fast when it is not very well embedded. The effect at the scene with zodd didn't bug me. But the CG with the SK, doesn't felt right. I mean the manga is very dark and the drawing style expresses that darkness very well. But a polished CG version. Okay i will try to make it easier to understand with some images etc. give me some time walther

I don't think I'll ever understand people's problem with CG

It looks gorgeous. How can you feel uncomfortable with it? If anything the original 1997 anime warranted more uneasy feelings. The characters look nothing like their manga counterparts. The new Berserk Griffith feels like Griffith from the manga come alive same with Skully.

Steven Blum-Random Soldier

Steven Blum has been in so many anime, I wouldn't be surprise if he just has a small role in this.

Steven Blum is like Samuel L. Jackson

He's in everything

Hopefully, the Casca & Puck images from last year are in CM 5.  :guts:

Because we don't want the Berserk: New animation thread littered with posts about the voice actors I decided to make this thread. Marc Diraison should voice Guts' during the Golden Age while Michael Bell from Sword of Berserk Guts' rage voice older Guts for the other arcs in the anime. The voices from the original english dub are fine as they are. Also Aaz what's this about Media Blasters? Last I checked they were doing pretty alright. Hopefully, Funimation doesn't get a hold of this new Berserk project. I don't know why but I just feel an weird vibe emanating from the decision.

Hopefully they show more of Guts childhood and how Gambino sold him to Donovan to give the viewer a more in-depth view of why he hates being touched in this new anime. Guts whole shtick about it in the 1997 anime felt really vague. Also Wyald dude is the man his volume was definitely the best foreshadowing and will be an awesome addition to the anime. What I'm looking forward to most in this new series is the "Guardians of desire" anime adaptation.  :ubik:

The Conviction arc is going to suck if they follow the rules of censorship.

They'll probably only show 5-10 seconds of the nude fest then cutaway after showing the orgasmic faces of some pagans. I wouldn't be too negative about it; the 1997 TV series did a good job handling graphic scenes of the series.

Probably gonna die and play a key role in the defeat of the sea god

The 1997 TV series had its fair share of nudity. Regardless, this sort of stuff really isn't what matters most...

If they redo the episodes I hope they put back in that crack Guts makes about Casca "biting it off" when Adon and his henchmen confront them. I was laughing my ass off at that panel and Casca hits him.

A many people have said I get the feeling that the pirates have become like the crew of the flying Dutchman  :ganishka:

The art looks fucking beautiful and reminds me of the anime Count of Monte Cristo

Zodd didn't tell him to not leave Griffith behind. ALl he said was that when Griffiths ambition crumbles Guts will be sacrificed and he will die, in so many words. He didn't even "brush aside" the warning. Did you really misinterpret that scene so poorly?

I interpreted it correctly thank you very much. Here's the part that makes me mad that he didn't understand even though it was crystal clear at the time that he was one Griffith's greatest assets, his best friend and that leaving him trying to become his "equal" wouldn't count as being the first step to his downfall.

Sup everyone I'm new to forums

Blaze of Glory

I've been a lurker on these forums a pretty long time and a long time fan of the manga Berserk

As I've discussed on another forum is Guts the cause for the completion of the Godhand as well as ushering in the age of darkness? I can't help but believe that it is true since he brushed aside a warning from an immortal that leaving behind someone who he considered a friend and who Griffith couldn't admit was also his friend.
