Wow  :schnoz: that Skull knight looks amazing, but there is a part of me that wants to see any company make a newer character, like any one in Guts party, lets hope they keep the line going.
Great interest and number of sales figure of the series guarantees the next character.

Good example of this is 66' TV Batman. many people cry for it. Hot Toys ans NECA developed good looking 12" figures and everyone liked it. The sales, however, wasn't that impressive as expected and the left over ended up in the bargain bean. Hot Toys also stopped scheduled other products in the series.

They also announced Skull Knight

Good question. From the last two images and a view of the arm (elbow area), it doesn't look like the arm bends. Not sure about the legs or other joints.
Actually, I believe it's using silicon muscle body. It's quite popular in muscular body type these days (Hot toys Hulk, Thor figures used them.
One problem is silicon rubber has deterioration issue over time. You need to apply protective oil and don't keep the figure in bent pose too long.

Nice!
Nose seems a little long, but overall detail looks better than Medicom already.

Hopefully they will be more faithful to original graphic novel and do a better job with leather and metal(ic) parts. :guts:
I still wish Hot Toys or Enterbay do their version.

Shameless self bump to celebrate the Medicom 12inch version news!! :guts:

They did make layered moving armor on the pelvis area. They should have used the same on other layered armor areas as well.. Anyways, this is great news!
Hopefully they will do the Berserker wolf armor after this!~

Head sculpt looks great! A must buy for me as well.
The layered armor is only articulated on upper legs, it seems... Too bad they didn't do that for the arms and knee armors.

I got mine as well.
The way they did the shoulder armor (attached to shoulder muscle) is not the best solution, but the head sculpt and the eye movement system is pretty nice.

Eh? Matrix cutting machine? Really? I thought they are used in making keys? Is there a new advanced machine that uses 3D model as base??
Can you put a link to pic of the machine? I'm really curious!

This has been almost a year now!! :loony However actual work on this project was only about 3 months. Lazy me...
It's almost there thou. This will be my last WIP post before final post!

Painting, Color toning continues + some minor leather work

Painting, Color Toning, Light weathering (metallic edges) + Prep work for blood stain (Althou I'm not sure I'll do the blood stain paint.. I might just leave it for now)
Test fitting armor pieces

Head armor Painting, Color Toning, Light weathering (metallic edges) + Clear painted sheet for eye area. (and, of course, light up test)
Also started head painting.

Made a quick new sword grip, cape,  and base with Styrofoam and epoxy. Quick test pose shot!

Next post will be the final and various pose shots!
Thanks for following my very slow progress and Stay tuned!!~:hifive

Thanks for many encouraging comments! I've been crunching on my job away from my home, so I had a very little time to spend on this project. However, it still goes very slowly and I try to post progress whenever I have enough to make an update.

So, i made a pair of armored hands and finalized his head armor (even smaller now. left is the first original)

And cleaned up all metal parts and resin parts - and treated metal parts with gun-blue chemical to blacken it (same thing I did with my other Guts figure) This time, it was just a lot more metal parts!! and I had to disassemble them and treated them piece by piece. all 82 metal pieces total!!!

After that, I sprayed protective clear coating and airbrushed thin layer of clear blue. And assembled them back.

Resin parts are also airbrushed in 2 color layers + clear coating

After doing some more color matching passes, I'll start add weathering/metal scratching to add some flavor! :)
Again, I have no idea when the next update will happen, but It's still going (and going..)

First of all, Happy New Year to all SkullKnights!!

Came back home for holiday & vacation
I was going to restart on the project right away, but I got some other piled up stuff to take care (and also got sick - that always happens to me on long holidays or vacation..)
Anyways, I started by making a smaller version of head with LED light unit & switch for the Berserker glowing eyes.

I cut out the head for battery box, 2LEDs and a toggle switch box. Somehow I managed to fit them in there with partial face where it's exposed.

And then the more of the armor parts..Arms, Shoulders, Legs and back of the feet.

Proportion test and posing test. (The crouching pose photo came out looking like he has a big head, but actually it's not big. It's because I didn't fit the back head armor all the way in and partially the camera lens)

All parts are rough cut and surfaces are still unfinished. Will get there before surfacer and metal treatment.

I'm going away for more business trip next week, so I'll try to do more this weekend before that.

WOw hope the project still at progress:) anyway kyekye do you have plans on recasting Guts head? let me know:) thanks
I'm away from home to to my job, and It's currently on hold. I'll get back to it whenever I get back to my home base - or over the holidays :)
