Current Episodes / Re: Episode 337

I hold Berserk in extremely high regard and yet I continuously get impressed. Wow.

Some spitballing: if we presuppose that it was in fact the bakiraka who knocked out those guards in the previous episode - wouldn't it make sense for them to be (attempting to) spying on Griffith and thus also witness this event?

I'm currently reading The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy.

However, I'm almost more excited by the prospect of me soon getting my hands on On the Front Line: The Collected Journalism of Marie Colvin. Colvin appears to have been a truly exceptional person and writer so I'm very much looking forward to reading this book. Nota bene, she also looked like a female version of Snake Plissken:

Character Cove / Re: Favorite Berserk Character Introductions
« on: August 30, 2013, 07:14:36 PM »
A bit surprising (at least to my self) my favourite/most rememberable introduction is actally Mozgus.  :mozgus:

I tend to cringe quite a lot when "civilians" in Berserk get slaughtered and before Mozgus is shown you know things are going to end badly: inquisitors have a bad enough rep as it is and the torture devices visible on the carriage also really drives home this point. So for me the build-up was great and the rest of the introduction certainly lived up to my expectations.

What also really makes his introduction stick out for me is  the artwork: I'm very fond of the composition of that image when we get to see Mozgus in person, in front of his minions and would-be assassin.

It was Ken Burns-esque  :ganishka:

Yeah, personally I was going to suggest that last take was almost Mallick-esque  :guts:: the use of backlightning, the protrudent music, and whatnot.

That was very, very funny.  :ubik: There were really a lot of stuff to love (the dual nsfw-browsing, the long cut of slowly zooming out on Aazealh's "visual approximation", the sketches, etc.)

Extremely good work guys and I must say that I'm impressed by Gobolatula's comedic chops :)

This doesn't pertain exclusively to this episode but I must say that I've thoroughly enjoyed the podcast. You come for the Berserk insights and stay for Griffith's puns :ganishka: (I also think that my favorite quip so far has been, with the risk of slightly misquoting: "as far as lost chapters go, it's far from being Guts goes to the market").
