Hated it. So, so many lingering questions remain.

REAL late to the party on this one. Just read the whole thread. Aside from the typically gorgeous illustrations, not much else about this sits right with me. The whole thing is frankly a bummer. Would've *much* rather have seen this told in the f***ing manga. Oh, and people preferring a backstory told this way, um, no. Not at all.

Amazing! Have to agree with Griffith, this is a pretty eventful episode. We've truly waited so long for these very pages and I think the payoff will be something to behold. :casca:

This 4 minute nepotistic short made me roll my eyes for several different reasons. The music was awful, the dialogue was lame, the symbolism was too on the nose, the jokes/references were off-putting, and the product placement was cringe worthy.

It looked nice, that's about it.

Thanks, guys. Found an old fog machine and have been a total one trick pony with it. I think it lends itself rather well to monster photo atmosphere.

Waiting of a 1/6 scale Guts to arrive. I'm also debating on whether or not to pull the trigger on the Threezero Skull Knight.

Hey, It's been awhile. I don't color much these days sadly, but I've gotten pretty big into photography. Thought this would be the best place to share tonight's subject. Hope everyone is doing well!

Some crazy similarity I just noticed while perusing an art book at my friend's place.

Lilith by Barlowe Note the grey bird creature at her feet.

Corvian Settler

The similarity seems too on the nose to be an accident. Sorry if people already knew this.

Incredible. Absolutely incredible. 346 left me in total awe. I've never smiled so much reading an episode. At least not for a LONG time. Puck's whole King troll was everything.  :troll:

Berserk Anime / Re: 2016 Berserk TV series: Episode 1
« on: July 04, 2016, 05:35:41 PM »
Very rough in most places. I hope there's improvement as the season marches on. I wasn't surprised at all when Isidro was introduced out of the gate. He's a character younger viewers may gravitate towards (basing that off Isidro's age and the main character from One Piece and how wildly popular that series is) and I suppose the producers thought it couldn't hurt to include him from the outset. In a sense, they were right, it won't change much. Like most properties based on books, it'll never stay totally faithful and compromises will be made.

I do think it's important to see the good, however little there may be of it, in this situation. There's no way it won't bring new fans to the manga and hopefully Miura made a solid chunk of change of this too. The show's kind of shit as of this moment, especially this episode, but I hope it makes us eat humble pie by the end. Make no mistake, it's shit so far, and I'll only stick around and half heartedly watch it to see Mozgus.  :mozgus:

Yeah, we all want anything Berserk related to be perfect. I think that's a naive way of thinking though. This show is targeted for the youth. No one cares about hardcore fans like us. Kids hear the music used and go, "Ah, sugoi music! Kakui!" We sit here reminiscing for ol' Susumu and throw the Dreamcast OST on.

We're old men on our lawns yelling how the old days were better. They were.

The manga was always and will always be the perfect form of Berserk.

This is us basically:

Pretty decent reviews so far. Happy to see no review embargo for this.

This was absolutely, positively, amazing. The way Gob mispronounced Japanese was subtle and had me laughing so f***ing hard. The Aaz drawing and story was glorious. Pure. F***ing. Gold.

^Your post made me more emotional than the actual episode, Walter. Jeez.

You're right, for so long, so much has hinged on what will happen in the next few episodes. It's insane to think we're finally here. So much has happened from Puck saying, "My home."

« on: November 17, 2015, 04:38:32 PM »
Not terribly hopeful about this project, tbh. Prometheus' story was so sloppy. Could a sequel clear up the lingering questions? Sure, but I don't really feel like watching a whole other movie to find about about what happened in the first. That was the first movie's job.

I could be (and hopefully am) wrong and A:C will be some glorious accomplishment, lifting Prometheus from the mire of disappointment in which it currently lies.

MGS5.  Someone tell me how this game got such rave reviews.  I'm on mission 10 and bored to death.
-Same boring terrain
-outposts have little diversity
-the fast travel is ludicrous
-all this open space with nothing to do, oh look, a plant
Yes, the motherbase is neat and sneaking around can be fun but these little bothers kill this game.  I feel like I'm playing farcry: super capture the fort edition.  I'm not trying to troll here, I just regret my purchase and wonder if the further I go some enjoyment can be had.

I'm in the same boat as you. I have a handful of missions to go to be be done with it and I haven't touched it in almost a week. Replaying past missions in the middle of the story is absolutely enraging to me. It's a total let down for so many reasons. Yet it's getting a hardcore fanboy reach around online.

Go play Bloodborne instead.
