« on: December 20, 2008, 08:32:01 PM »
Ok, thought I would start up a thread that should get some debate going. :)

In order, list who you think the most powerful apostle is.

1) Emperor Ganishka
2) Zodd
3) Grunbeld
4) Locus
5) Irvine
6) Snake Baron
7) Wyald
8) Rosine

But that's because you're a wimp with your faggot sword. I can cut through car tires effortlessly with my $300 bastard sword (I hold it with a single hand, always), it's so well-balanced I have to be careful not to cut through my scabbard when I sheathe it. But then again, with my extremely muscular body it's no wonder I have an easier time than the average man.

I laughed so much it hurt

Gonna try and get this back on topic, As someones whos MADE swords (although badly I prefer armour) unless u do plan to go killing people go for which ever looks better to you. and even then go for the claymore rather than the zweihander or lowlander.

Your other alternatives are either a Ba*tard Sword or get a custom built DS :D. B'tard swords are my personal favorite light enough to be weilded in 1 hand but heavy enough to get that nice bone cracking noise when you strike a limb.

AS for all the rapier vs heavy sword argument... a 2 hander in full swing wouldnt be able to be parried by a fencing foil and a rapier/saber would prolly parry it but the momentum of the blade would make the parry difficult the fencer would probabaly get off a good 2nd jab/slash before the heavy sword came down again taking them out... imo the heavy sword would win against 2 equally skilled fighters. Its a very similar debate to what would win a medievil knight or a samurai... fact is noone is going to ever know.

"You're like the thief who isn't the least bit sorry he stole, but is terribly, terribly sorry he's going to jail."

'Gone with the wind'
I cheated to bump the thread :)

"You see that fella in the red sweather over there? His name's Donnie McCoy. Works a few of the protection rackets for Cunnaro when he's waiting for something better to happen. Donnie and I have known each other since we were six. Take a good look at that face, Floyd. Because if he ever finds out I can be beat by one lousy grifter, I'll have to kill him and every other hood who wants to muscle in on my Chicago operation."

Shootin' the Breeze / Film Quote Game
« on: July 20, 2007, 03:53:34 PM »
Ok heres the film quote game, all you have to do is reply with who said the quote and what film its from also post a new quote for the next person to guess :) if 2 people post at the same time its the 1st reply that is carried on. There is no winner prize so dont make them too hard  also try and avoid google hehe let people who have seen the films get the answers.

Righto here is the first quote.

"I'm scared, Fif. It's that rat circus out there, I'm beginning to enjoy it. Look, any longer out on that road and I'm one of them, a terminal psychotic, except that I've got this bronze badge that says that I'm one of the good guys."

Not really the 'definitive' (i hope i spelt that right) resource but worth a look if your into mythical creatures.

As for an encyclopedia of beserk monsters and their origins go for it :) would be good to see all of the comparisons between tolkein/warhammer/beserk/mythology/fairy tale/various other writers.

i read this a few days ago yea its odd but im sure its not the first 'web-rage' in the UK, ive read plenty of ebay related 'debt collection' where people have been ripped off so appeard at the other partys houses for their money back.

also with websites like whois.com its very easy to find out someones address, even given their firstname/surname/town its possible to find them just using the phone book.

Will he grow up to be a Ninja! or a Samurai!

for Guts to wield it, even if he's inhumanly strong the weapon would have to be made of some special alloy for him to be able to lift it.

Since Godo is a master smith i would say it was possible for him to have forged the DS from some alloy/technique to make it lighter but that idea is shot down when you see other people trying to move it such as the 1st cell of page 15 in episode 278 and iirc when guts is captured by the HICK's there is a scene of 2 knights shown carrying it.

As for the DS getting on mythbusters the things they do are well known myths ive heard of about 80% of them i dont think they are going to do something like this and even if they did it would just confirm that its not possible for a human to lift such a sword which we already know.

I think it would be a better thing to debate that if the DS had a fuller (concave dip in the side of the blade, sometimes called a blood channel but its used to reduce weight and retain strength) would it be wieldable by merely a strong human and not just Guts.

average match... a draw sums it up

Argentina 2 v 1 Ivory Coast
good match although i want holland to qualify they may have problems beating the ivory coast after the way they played agaisnt argentina
