Video Games / Re: Favorite Video Games (Series)
« on: April 14, 2018, 07:15:13 PM »
My personal top 5 favourites are Dragon Age, Battlefield, Civilization, AOE, and Dirt(Colin McRae Rally). There's an extra I wanna include but it's not a franchise; it's called Battle Mages, a Russian RTS Classic, played it a lot during the middle school years.

That peak in the distance doesn't look like The Hand, could it be a mountain of corpses? or perhaps a grim mausoleum?

The perfect comic.

Lmao the guy had a shadow of a smile on his face the entire time like he was about to break down and laugh his ass off at any moment, how the hell did he keep on going?

Thank you for this golden channel. :ganishka:

Agnostics are amazing. I mean, in a way, you have to be both brave and cowardly at the same time, it takes courage to admit you know nothing and cowardice to take no stand at all.  :troll:

Whatever.

Reminds me of the bond Guts and Griffith shared and all the battles they faced. I love the part that follows the 3:17 mark.

This new (Sept. 21st, 2016) Berserk fan animation is rather amusing and hilarious :ganishka:

Welcome to BERSERK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkS4DXxjciw

I somehow feel this is supposed to be a play on Berserk 2016.

Awesome! Tarot Cards have always interested me and this sounds like a lot of fun.

0. The Fool
Innocence, New beginnings, Potential

Our very first introduction to the world of Berserk (besides some hot demon action) is the chance meeting between Guts and Puck. Meeting Puck can very well be described as a new beginning for Guts, as it starts him on the road to redemption by introducing a conscience and voice of reason that had been lacking in his life since the Eclipse. This also ties into the innocence and optimism of Puckís character. Chestnut jokes aside, Iíve chosen to delegate The Fool to him.

Another character who fits this aspect (besides the "Innocent" part I guess) is Isidro.

4. The Emperor
Authority, Structure, Foundation

Lastly, the compliment to the Empress. The Emperor represents power and authority with a strong masculine leaning. But there is a sensitive element to this card as well, with the Emperor being described as offering guidance, advice and wisdom to others. Oftentimes this wisdom is obtained through worldly, life experience. Berserk has a few contenders for this wise old role model. At the moment Iím inclined to hand it to Godot. Who offers worldly wisdom to Guts at his lowest, and lays the foundations to stabilise the Gutís chaotic life in preparation for the Tower of Conviction.

I think Skull Knight is another candidate for this spot and not just because of the title of the card but because he has offered guidance, advice and wisdom to other people (mainly Guts).

KochiKame Concludes 40 Year Run with Guinness World Record Win

I used to watch the anime back in middle school, it remains one of my favourite comedies of all time.

Shootin' the Breeze / Re: Stupid Stuff We Really Want

This handy product will be perfect for me when I'm late night web browsing with my 1998 Apple monitor.

I can honestly say that this is not stupid, I used to stay up late to do stuff on my PC but my parents were very strict about going to bed at 10 p.m.. Obviously I did not comply and every night I snuck into the study after I was sure my parents were asleep, then I closed the door shut, took out a blanket and put it over the monitor and my head to block the light, that way even if my somebody were to wake up in the middle of the night they wouldn't suspect that something was off about the study room. It worked well but I had to keep leaning forward so that the blanket wouldn't block half of the screen, it made my back ache and messed my hair up pretty bad.
This would've been a godsend.

While I do not completely agree with your analysis of Farnese, I wholeheartedly agree with what you've written here.  :guts:

Berserk Miscellaneous / Re: How Did You Find Out About Berserk?
« on: September 01, 2016, 02:21:04 PM »
It didn't affect my reading too much at all. When I watched the adapted Golden Age, I already knew Griffith would eventually sacrifice everyone (read. Guts), but I had no idea what the context would be, or how the event would actually play out. Which is essentially the exact same position any manga reader would be in by the time they finish Black Swordsman.

And my knowledge of the World Transformation was literally "Griffith floods the world with magical stuff". Do you think I had any idea about Ganishka, Skullknight, Zodd, the Kushan war and the events that led to Femto incarnating and leading Midland's army? For a while I even though the WT and the Eclipse were the same event, or at least happened much sooner to each other than they eventually did.

I assumed you knew the details by the time you finished scouring the wiki, I'm glad that you didn't completely spoil yourself.  :guts:

Maybe those were the biggest highlights for you. But I still distinctly remember my first read through's highlights turned out to be the quieter moments like Guts' goodbye to Jill, meeting Rickert and Godo again, Guts reuniting with Casca in the heretic cave as well as the Hill of Swords, and the battle against Grunbeld.

No, of course not, I wrote "2 of the biggest highlights" not "the biggest highlights".

Eventually I kept noticing it popping up enough to look into the story online a bit. I scoured the wiki for a bit (because I sometimes do that rather than devote too much time to reading a series i'm only curious about. It has its downsides.). All that stuck with me after I left was the Eclipse and the World Transformation

...you basically spoiled 2 of the biggest highlights of the series for yourself.

One day I was browsing through a manga website when I came across the latest Detective Conan chapter (ch. 940~), I was baffled by the number (I mean how can somebody keep an episodic series running for such a long time?) and decided to find out if it's ever going to conclude. My search led me to a thread on MAL where I learned about Berserk, the fact that the series was older than Detective Conan and only 337 episodes had been published sparked my curiosity.

2nd page, 1st panel, Are those elves? they look rather big.

What's with the bone? Do they think Zodd is a dog or something? It's to play fetch? To insert in his mouth? I'm also not sure it's in the spirit of the character to have a reproduction of his head to mount on a wall, as if he was a hunting trophy. Lastly, the horn isn't as big as it should be. His remaining horn has grown disproportionately compared to the cut off one.

Yea, I never understood why that happened, could you explain?

I called it back in january when the teaser was released... I don't know who's responsible for the youtube poop quality ear rape sound effects, but somehow they keep getting paid to ruin my favorite franchises.

You undeniably did and I commend you for that, but I sure as hell wish you had been wrong.
