Berserk Merchandise / Re: Oniri Creations - Berserk line

So The price is up, and damn I knew it would be steep but I believe thatís before shipping, after shipping it must be close to $2000.

Thatís really reaching the upper limit of what I can spend, but god do I want this. Ever since I saw the little version that AoW made in person Iíve always wanted a larger scale, but damn. 1k-1.2k I would jump on it, but at 1.5k before shipping? Hard to swallow that price.

But man itís beautiful, easily one of my favorite of all time.

Berserk Merchandise / Re: Max Factory Femto

Mine is here! Unfortunately Iím at work so I canít post pictures today, but Iím so excited. Been waiting on this statue for years and itís great to finally have it!

Femto and Void are tempting. I own a few figmas but my biggest gripes with them were their size, exposed joints, and the fact that I couldn't pose them to save my life. These are also quite a bit more than what I'm used to paying for figmas.

On the plus side, both femto and void don't really have to be posed and you can't see either of their joints anyway. Just drop femto in his egg, and voids most iconic pose is with has hand stretched, so no posing here. Void is pretty damn big as well, and while femto is small, AoW rendition of that scene is equally small and 6x the price.

I'm seriously considering getting them, but idk about slan. I already have guts and slan which is nicer, and I could care less for Conrad and ubik as of now. Still, it's hard to imagine paying $300 for figmas. That said, I don't think we'll be getting a nicer void anytime soon, and the only other femto figure I like is that max factory statue which I haven't heard any news on in like a year.

im going to pay $1000+ for a statue in 2016, but it won't be this one. IMO the femto statue from GSC is much better, and there aren't nearly enough femto statues of that size out there. At least skulls has 1/10 statues on a horse, which is about as large as a 1/4 statue. But maybe next year I'd buy this in a better repaint. Maybe in silver or (preferably) weathered bone.

Did the cape snap in hard or were you able to get it on without force?  I tried putting it on several times and kept walking away from it out of fear that I was going to damage it by forcing it on. It just seems like one side is always too tight to fit while the other is in the slot.

Mines not totally in lol. Same problem as you, one side goes in fully the other doesn't and but it looks good, so I'm not gonna mess with it lol.

Kind of off topic, but whats the name of the display case you have? I've been debating on a new one.

No idea. Found it on Craigslist for $200. The cheapest I've seen for these guys new are $600.

Nope. The only removable parts is the cape, head, and sword. That's it.

Mine came! Here is a quick snapshot of it:

He looks great. Cape is a bitch to put on, and putting the sword in makes you feel like you'll break his arm. But he looks good next to his art of war cousins that are 3x his price!

That's a nice chance to get one for those who couldn't^^
Too bad though they didn't improve some things.

Anyways, I can link people who want the painter who will be working with me on my kits.

Yes please! It isn't easy to find people that paint and paint good.

I'm happy and sad at the same time. On one hand, I can get my hands on that 1/8 Berserker on Rock that I've wanted for a while, but didn't want to spend $800+ on. On the other hand, I bought the Zodd one like 4 months ago for quite a bit more (though I did get a good deal on it) so that's kinda disappointing. But yeah, anyone do commissions?

Buying / Selling / Re: [FS] Kits (Slan, Irvine, Puck, Ivalera)

I'll vouch for him too. Met him several times in person and he's as honest as they come. I get it though, I'd be anxious too. He's been on these forums for years it would be foolish to do something funny like that all of a sudden if you know what I mean.

The 20th Anniversary Black Version is probably my favorite. I'm a little biased though, since that's the one I own...

I also like the European version and the Last Repaint (lol). The red skin probably isn't true to the manga but I like the way it looks all around.

They could treat it way better, improve it 1000 times, it's not the problem that matters here.
If you release something you sell, saying it's a limited product with a number that even comes with a plate, then there is a serious problem If you decide to re-release it later, even 10 years later. Because it makes the previous products less valuable.
So, good for you, you got a chance to grab it, but I wonder how would you feel as a fan If you bought the first one  :slan: probably not very happy.
But yeah, that's not your problem, keep thinking that way.

My work is unrelated to this matter, I'm talking as an ex-big AoW customer. I'm not even coming to every AoW thread...
Man, If I complain, it's because I believe that If people didn't buy their products, everyone would be winning : you would get better products, and cheaper.
And I would add I never said anything hostile to AoW customers, since I own a good number of their products... I said I didn't understand why nowadays people would buy from them, and that AoW customers would be really insane, yeah. Sorry not sorry  but it feels extremely obvious to me why one shouldn't buy anything from them anymore.
Just check out Gecco and their Guts... 1/6 39800 Yens and so much better face sculpting than AoW ever did... For a much lower price.
Also, considering it's also 3D printed (everything except the heads), which is much more costly than traditional prototyping, yeah, I will say it again, it's insane to buy AoW with their prices.

"Haters gonna hate" imply I kind of enjoy pouring all my negative feelings toward AoW without any valid reason, isn't it ? Is that what you think?
I never said A toys were making only good stuff. I looked at this AoT product and man, please look at the size. The sculpt job isn't bad, it just needs a repaint. With some AoW products you would need a resculpt as well as a repaint ...
Large boxes for shipping ? I own their first zodd revelations and the size of the box was way too huge for the size of the statue...

As it's been said previously, their surveys don't mean anything. I could give you so much more powerful scenes that people would probably enjoy much more than this scene... But yeah it's cheaper and faster to re-release with a few tweaks.

You misunderstood me, I do own the original, and the newer version doesn't make me feel any worse about my deciosion. I still stick to what I said and defend them in this case, but I agree they aren't always easy to defend (I doubt there are many AoW apologists out there, most people with a level head can see they have done some crummy shit).

And by hostile I don't mean you come out and attack them individually, its just the way you come off when you say people are insane for buying their work.

Lastly, I think you have to realize that most people (including myself) don't have the same understanding as to what goes into making these products as you do, so "obvious" reasons to you may not be as obvious to most people.

I really have no Idea why people keep buying from AoW...
If I were AoW and with their means I would create so many great things. For the same price you could have a lifesize Guts bust... With a good face and decent paint, and not this...

They improved their faces but they are still not accurate to either the manga or anime.
The paint job is as always one of their strongest point but I agree with Rayhato the color scheme doesn't fit.

Overhall it's once a gain a giant flying fuck to collectors like me who originally bought a statue which was said to be " limited " and modified quite a bit and produced again... This is really ridiculous, and people who're buying this for this price are really insane....

I agree and disagree t the same time. I think what they did with the 20th anniversary statue was ridiculous, it went from 100 statues to around 300 in a matter of 5 years which is insane. But Zodd Revelation and Guts and Slan were treated much better, and haven't had any re releases in 10 years, which is quite a while (I was 10 years old in 2005, I didn't know what berserk was not did I have $500 to spend on a statue, just saying). I don't mind a rerelease after that amount of time, but I agree AoW can get crazy.

I respect the work you've done and look forward to your guts bust but I don't see the point in coming in every AoW thread and being so negative towards AoW and the people that choose to support them. Hate the company all you want, and you have every right to complain about them, but you come off pretty hostile to those of us that choose to purchase stuff from them which is unnecessary. At the end of the day, it's just and overpriced statue no matter how you slice it.

Just bought it for $440 and really like it. Considering the price bump for zodd revelations I'd imagine this is gonna go for 50k yen or so. Still worth it I think.

90k vs 130k, and it still cheaper than Max Factory. Plus as mentioned before, exchange rates are bit different this year.

Also this is a bit offtopic, but their last "Zodd & Wyald" was on auction a few weeks ago, and it was sold for like 470k jpy if I remember correctly. So I'm not telling we have a new "not be repainted" repaint incoming, but this could be a tricky plan to check how much people ready to pay for it :carcus:

This. I've seen what people paid a few years back when the yen was strong and the dollar was weak, and it evens just about evens out. It's probably less than $100 more expensive (prices go up, shit happens). Didn't they say they source their material from the U.S. Or something, which also plays a big part in it. I doubt the prices would ever go down though, even if the yen gets stronger/dollar weaker

Lol wow. Glad I just bought the Black version for a good price. This one looks worse and I wouldn't want it just out of principle. Sleazy ass company (but they can make a decent statue every once and a while). Hopefully this guts and Femto Max factory statue sells decent and look good and they decide to make more berserk stuff. I'd rather give my money to them at this point.

I actually kinda dig this, and thats saying something from someone who generally hates articulated figures. He looks really nice and the joints don't look nearly as bad as the medicom releases (which aren't bad per say, but not good IMO). Probably won't be picking him up, I have enough stuff I want to buy and I already have the 1/6 gecco statue on preorder.

I wish we got more non art of war non posable statues though (1/8 or bigger). I find every time I buy a posable statue, I spend an hour trying tops him just right and end up giving up. I'd be all over some more $200 - $350 PVC statues like the gecco one, but it seems people are more interested in making posable figures for that price and $1000 statues lol.

Buying / Selling / Re: Sell] Berserk Bust kits
« on: May 23, 2015, 06:14:15 PM »
Nice to see these available for sale, but it's hard to believe that they're the real mccoy (due to how many bootlegs there exist of these). If they are though (would be nice with pictures of the boxes the kits came in), I think these are real nice finds for any Berserk collector. (

I've seen this guy selling them on Yahoo Auction Japan for what that's worth, and there is a legit unpainted kit on YAJ right now, but it's pretty pricey (considering the price this guy is asking for). Like you said, never know of its legit when it's already painted though.

I think this is possibly the best Guts face I've seen on a statue.  High price for PVC, but if the quality comes close to these images, it'll be worth it (comparitively speaking).  Budget is tight, but I think I might snap this one up.

The only guts face off the top of my head that compares is art of wars 1/10 birth ceremony guts. It's probably the perfect statue, besides is relatively small size.

But I agree, it's expensive for PVC, but it's pretty much the only option we have for a non berserker armor guts with a great face, great size, that isn't close to $1000. With the current rates the statue is about $260 or so. With shipping it'll be around $325 I'm guessing. Not terrible.

I kinda wish Art of War would make PVC statues in the $200 - $500 space. All their newest statues and repaints are in the $700+ range, which leaves a huge gap for others to fill. I think it'll ease their repaint problems as well. Instead of repainting a statue a dozen times, rerelease polystone statues as PVC ones and call it a day. Older collectors won't cry foul since they have the "better" statue and people would bitch less about the price and how it's too high or way higher than before.

I must be stupid but I don't know how to see my sent PMs at all. I see a part that says "sent messages" but it's empty, and I know I sent a few of them this past week. Any help would be appreciated.

Berserk Miscellaneous / Re: How did you find out about Berserk?
« on: April 26, 2015, 12:03:41 PM »
I believe I learned about it from Gigguk, he did a video and mentioned the berserk movies, and how they were good but had shit CGI. I saw the first and second ones dubbed on neon alley about a year ago. At Comic Con 2013 I saw the dubbed version of the third movie on the big screen, and it was a great experience. I saw the series a few months ago, and since then it's been my favorite franchise.

But yeah, I got into it with the movies, though TBH, I probably would have gotten into nth rough the anime anyways even if the movies never existed though.
