Wow that still hasn't comed out yet

At this point it feels like everyone's been waiting for Bannerlord since the beginning of time.

The good thing is that Miura trained us for this. You got nothing on Berserk, Bannerlord!

I'm sure someone mentioned it already but I'm (still) waiting for Mount&Blade II: Bannerlord  :puck:

I’d really like to see more interactions between the characters and individual members of the Godhand.  How many more encounters can Guts have with the Godhand before they decide he has to go and we enter an endgame scenario?  I would hate for the Godhand to be defeated simultaneously or in some sort of boss rush ala Ninja Scroll without learning about their stories, but once Guts really pisses them off I think time is up and we are headed towards the conclusion.

There’s no limit to what’s possible to avoid this scenario but the group is going to need at least a new kind of defense to withstand the scrutiny of the Godhand to allow for more interactions.

I wonder what does Guts need to do to piss them off. I guess they still see him like an insect. I think they will give a fuck only when they have to defent themselves against him...But, can Guts do something to them right now? Even with the Berserker armour, he would just die using it against the GH.

Glad to see this thread is spawning awesome debates :D Keep them coming, I love reading your comments.

And to think that this thread has more than a year. Damn, I'm in this forum since last year, that's crazy.

People regret their past Internet behavior!? :isidro: As even-keeled as I now strive to be, I kind if miss the old spark, really. Better to be brash than boring, maybe. :guts:

Well, I really was an asshole, I could not stand myself from those years. But hey! Now I'm fine....  :carcus:

Unfortunately there aren't that many good true sandbox MMORPGs. There is Albion Online which is probably the closest you can get, but it's cross-platform and kind of simplistic and boring in terms of design because of that.

There's Black Desert Online. It's grind intensive and has a pretty steep learning curve, so if you want to just have fun and sink in large amounts of time it's the go to for that. However, there comes a certain point when you need to invest real money to be even remotely competitive. I played it myself, it's a good game, it has the best combat system in any MMO if you ask me, but if you're the hardcore type of player who doesn't like to be left behind it probably isn't worth it.

EVE Online is F2P if you're into sci-fi and also Ashes of Creation is supposedly and ambitious, upcoming sandbox MMORPG, might wanna keep an eye out for it. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. It's kind of disappointing, I love a good sandbox game as well, but so far haven't found anything that would keep me interested for a long time.

Thanks for your answer, I will check them out and report back. I played EVE Online, but I felt kind of lost and aimless, but I should give it another chance. Thank you!

Alright. Albion Online. I should play it before saying anything, but, watching some videos, it doesn't grab me yet.

Black Desert Online. "Your country has restricted access to our services.". I kinda hate this, this happened before with Combat Arms, South America was banned because many cheaters came from here, at least that's what they said. I don't know if this is the same case. It makes me think, do people still see South America as we are portrayed in the movies?  :magni:

Eve Online, I should play it again, give it another chance and just let myself be swallowed by it.

Ashes of Creation. Like you said, I will keep an eye on it, see how it advances and see if it's the kind of game I would enjoy. It's expensive for me right now, though (dollar is getting crazy here, our "peso" sucks)

Thank you very much for your recommendations! And sorry I'm crying a lot in this comment  :judo: I should get back on my trusty horse Wilbur and go back to my cave.

As long as you don't look at my old comments, yeesh. (#douche) And thanks!

That happens. I found some old forums where I used to "hang around" back in 2009 and, damn! I was a childish asshole! It's a weird moment in life but I guess that's advancing. I guess it would be wrong to look back at those old comments and say "ha! I was and still am awesome", at least mine comments.  :ganishka:

Hey guys, how are you?

Sorry for the lame topic title, but I thought this thread can be useful for people looking for a specific type of games or for the ones who forgot the name of one they played way back but remember some details that can be useful to search for it, with the help of others.

I'm looking for a Sandbox MMORPG, like Wurm Unlimited.
I don't know much of the genre and didn't play many games of it, but for example, Wurm Unlimited in theory has what I'm looking for, but after playing it for some 30 hours (it is not much for that kind of game) I felt something was lacking. The entire world is built by players, not a single one NPC exists there, and while exploring the land you encounter many towns, camps, cities, farms, ports, castles, all built by players, and that's awesome (you encounter hostile and neutral creatures aswell), but I find the lack of consequences a bit boring. There are servers full PVP, but they become a deathmatch and lacks what the other PVE server have. I play in a server that has both, PVP and PVE, but there is only a zone for PVP and everyone build outside of it. So wherever you have your base, you are safe. And that makes me a bit aimless.

There is a lot more to the game, it is pretty good, you can check it out, but maybe it seems it is not for me.

So, can you recommend me a game like that?
(Sorry my bad english, it's hard to articulate these things)

I've now made a few additions to my Recurring Apostle Rogues Gallery as of this recent episode. Miura has started reusing a few designs from the Ganishka battle and the Eclipse. I love how each apostle is individually unique and how each was once human and has a tragic backstory of their own. Amazing designs.

Apostle Rogues Gallery

This is quite awesome, thanks for sharing!

I encountered an old game for MS-DOS called "Sword of the Samurai", it has so many elements that remind me of Mount&Blade. That's what I'm going to be playing if I find it.

I can't say I'm not a bit dissapointed because of the switch, but I welcome this episode with open arms. We are advancing, and that's always a good thing. Not to mention the incredible art Miura always delivers, and this creature hunt Griffith is leading is quite interesting, let's see where it goes from here.  :puck:

Awesome! Did you read the manga from the beginning or where the movies drop?

I got into Berserk with the 1997 anime, and read the manga from the beginning after that!

Nice to have you here!

May I ask where are you from and how you got into Berserk?

Shootin' the Breeze / Re: tom's introduction
« on: April 15, 2018, 02:22:00 AM »
Welcome Tom! Fancy pants you got there ;-)

Alright, so for starters, here is the full version of the prophecy, correctly translated:

"When the sun will have died five times, a red lake will appear at the west of the city with a name both new and ancient, and it will be the sign that the fifth angel is born. The angel shall be a Falcon of Darkness. Both master of the sinful black sheep and king of the blind white sheep. The one who shall bring an age of darkness upon the world."

Notice that the Falcon of Light is not referenced here. This prophecy is specifically about the Falcon of Darkness.

We don't know who created the prophecy, but it predates the Holy See as far as we understand. We know that because Schierke quotes the prophecy when she's first introduced (while gathering intelligence on Griffith), indicating that it is known among magic users.

The Holy Iron Chain Knights (led by Farnese) mistook Guts for the Falcon of Darkness, but that was long ago. I guess in theory, yes, if the Holy See had known Griffith was really the Falcon of Darkness the prophecy warns against, they might have opposed him. But things have worked out very differently. Griffith was recognized as their prophesized savior and has been acting as such. It seems pretty clear by now that the Holy See as a religion was part of a long-term scheme to benefit the God Hand and their master (the Idea of Evil). And at the current point of the story, it's not clear whatever leadership they had still exists aside from the Pontiff (who's completely enraptured by Griffith).

Yes, the resemblance isn't coincidental. Walter first connected those dots over 15 years ago.

Excellent, I understand know. Thanks for taking your time to answer my doubts. I know it can be tiresome to answer the same things or discussing the same themes over and over again through the years, so I appreciate that you take your time to answer newcomers like me.

I can sleep well now...Until the next episode.

Speculation Nation / I don't understand the prophecy, can you help me?
« on: April 12, 2018, 10:09:41 PM »
I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to post this but I thought we could get into speculations with this.

I'm not understanding the prophecy about the Hawk of Darkness/Light.

Azan, at the "red lake", said: "The revelations said that when the sun dies five times a red lake will appear to the west of the city with a name both new and old."

And Farnese said: "It is proof that the fifth angel will alight. The angel is the Hawk of Darkness. The master of the sinful black sheep, the king of the blind white sheep."

I know Griffith/Femto is both, but my questions are...Who "created" this prophesy? I mean, did the Holy See write it? I know they confused the Hawk of Darkness with Guts, but if they make the connections and realize Griffith is the Hawk of Darkness, would they be against him?

Could the God Hand be related to the Holy See? I don't know why but the brand reminds me of the Holy See logo.

All this prophesy and Holy See stuff it's just confusing for me, maybe you can help me. And sorry for my bad english.

Off Topic: Wow, my karma went down from 7 to 2, maybe I did something wrong? Is there a way to see what comments of mine got down voted? So I can improve.

Alright, Walter pays for the drinks! Let's celebrate

The countries weren't named until vol 5, so there is absolutely no way to know, nor would it matter which he fought for on a given battle, because the next sortie may have been for another.

I know it wouldn't matter which side he fought for on a given battle, but maybe someone could tell the sides because of armor design or something like that, but now I know that there were no names for the countries until vol 5, that's good to know.

Thanks Walter.
