Cancelled my Bloody EX. It's for the best. The statue is decent, but I don't have the room it.

No one will judge you, we aren't all DirektDK after all! :ganishka:

There's been some new teasers the last few weeks! :carcus:

We've had a confirmation that Void and Conrad is coming (they might've only given Void 5 fingers but it's a bit hard to tell), and that they'll be a combo deal like Slan and Ubik:

And we've had the gigantic teaser of GRUNBELD(!!) :isidro: :

I haven't had much interest in posting any further comparisons, but with official pictures and measurements out I feel it would be a disservice to not update the crude quesstimate I made with the risk of it coming off as misleading or willfully erroneous. :farnese:

P1 Guts' height is pretty accurate. The official numbers is slightly bellow 90 cm (emphasis on slightly), and my own production piece is a few mm less than that.

The first two comparisons I made were a bit too generous regarding F4F Guts' size, cause the (little) information from conventions we had proved to be incorrect for one reason or another. The obvious answer is that it was wrongly or haphazardly measured, however it could also be that the early prototype, if there was several, was bigger than the final production piece. I marked the red line (both being the same size of course) to roughly show that the comparison should be pretty accurate (albeit still crude), since P1 Guts stands 73 cm tall to the top of his head, which should be 2 more than the total height of F4F Guts.

Unless I've made some critical error this should be the final comparison I'll make for these two statues, unless something tremendous happens to F4F's production run.

Hope someone else takes interest in these comparisons, anyway, tally-ho. :daiba:

Hi all, I usually doodle some sketches either inspired by Berserk or straight fan-art, and this is probably what I'll post here in the future. The first one I'll submit is a bit different though. Aazealh tickled one of my funny bones in the last podcast episode (94), so I wanted to make something like what he was joking around with.

It's probably been done before, but I wanted to make it anyway. :iva:

It's all of our favorite tin can, chomping down on some Friday snacks while he watches the drama unfold between Guts and his wench. :badbone:

This was posted on P1's Facebook fan group, they've worked on engineering the Prime1studio store exclusive helmed portrait so that the visor will be able to be opened and closed. They have also reworked the face sculpt on the regular portrait, which everyone seems to agree is an improvement! :ubik:

Alex, the head of First4figures, made a post about Guts yesterday, he more or less clarified that Guts' price will AT THE VERY LEAST be $699, but nothing is final yet. He finished the statement with saying that they should have a final price in a few weeks, which suggests that their latest estimate for the pre-order won't hold. It was suggested that Guts might go up during March, but with the price being a few weeks away that's starting to seem a bit unlikely.

With the emphasis Alex put on the price being at least $699 makes it feel like it's probably gonna be a bit above that. Really hoping it'll stay around there tho.. :/

This is one of Oniri's two completed pieces. I have high hopes for this diorama, and I hope they can survive with Prime1's newly announced diorama series competing for the market.

I have no words. I started reading this series when I was a little kid, and now 14-15 years later we're getting something of a closure of events which occurred while I still couldn't ride a fucking bike. I've grown through puberty and into adulthood waiting for this moment, and now when I have it in front of me I can't contain myself. :judo:

The art.. THE ART!! oh my god! Miura has made some terrific panels and spreads since Guts and co. got off the boat, but this chapter was a damn treasure trove of magnificent and poignant pages and panels..

During one the long(er) hiatuses I made peace with the fact that I might never see the end of the story, I've gotten more from this unfinished story than I have from 99.99% of the media I've consumed in my life already, so letting myself get distraught over a distant possibility when I've already gotten this much didn't make sense to me. However, there was always this itching thing in the back of my mind, one last request for Miura if you will.. All I wanted was to see Casca's face again.

And now I gotta go and do something about my teary eyes before the family dinner..

Peace. :casca:

This is how Zodd is supposed to look like IMO.

I respect AoW, but that is objectively not how Zodd is supposed to look, where in the Manga did they find that enormous overbite and slanted nuzzle?! :schnoz:

I'm pretty hopeful for it. Plus, the speed and dynamism in the picture Zurth posted of the statue from the side is quite impressive. I can't wait to see the final thing!

I'm hopeful for it as well, can't wait to see the production piece! However I am also a bit wary about it, cause of how their recent Sif and Nightmare pieces turned out. I just hope there was some issues at the factory for those specific pieces, and that it isn't telling of their realistic pieces at large. :puck:

I heard that it was going up for PO in march though, so that's really cool! Not sure if that info is correct though, since the piece was supposed to have a blind PO before the actual pre-order went up.. Gotta research some more.

I threw together a (really) quick comparison on different Zodd faces including P1's statue.

Hardly think you guys need any clarification, but the panels are, in the order as viewed:
  • Berserk -97
  • Golden Age movie trilogy
  • Berserk 2016/17
  • Volyme 5 - First encounter in the manga
  • Prime1studio's Zodd statue
  • Volume 26 - Duel with Skull Knight outside Flora's mansion

I feel the the relatively tiny AoW Zodd's were better in many ways.

This Art of War statue? Think they have 2-3 pretty good ones of Zodd.

How big is Zodd?

No official numbers yet, but he's looking somewhere around 32" tall and 34" wide (~80x85 cm), as a reference: Guts is ~29" to the top of his head, and Zerker / Human Zodd is ~36"..

In other words.. BIG A/F!! :zodd:

EDIT: I was looking for this image when I replied but didn't find it, here it is anyway. You can see that Zodd is somewhere between Guts' head (~29", ~73 cm) and the tip of his sword (36", 90 cm).

Some more tasty pics from Prime1's showing at Wonderfest Winter 2018, mostly close ups and a few different angles! :troll:

Hope you wanna see more pics.  :casca:

Zodd... full frontal nudity.

Slan... Lovely plume gurl.

Slan... Another... angle. :slan:

Prime1studio's affiliates and representatives repeatedly told us to lower our expectations on how much new stuff would be shown at WFW 2018, since they brought their A-game to Tokyo Comicon just back in december. Let's just say that this didn't apply to P1's Berserk fans lol! Gonna be interesting to see what goes up on PO next, probably Femto but after that it's a crapshoot.

Another update was their inclusion of blood on the statue :slan: , and I believe you'll be able to chose (free of charge) whether or not your ordered statue will have blood on it. It's nice that Alex caved in the end since he was against blood (and gore) from the start, and I believe the general consensus is the same.

The update was made like most F4F's tweaks are done, decided by the fans more or less.

The image to the left is the first paint attempt at it, and the image to the right is a digital touch up.

Here we have the first physical tweak to the initial paint, most fans still thought it was far too bright and monotonous.

(Firstly, sorry for the picture, the panel to the right is not the F4F statue I just couldn't find the original posted image, only this comparison) The third touch up, and second physical paint tweak, was by far the best received since they darkened it down a whole lot (image to the left).

This was posted in F4F's fan group a few days ago (regular base, not exclusive), proto looks pretty good and I'm hoping the price will be competitive! Also hoping they will have a better proto to product transition than their recent realistic pieces. :judo:

Is Femto taller than Griffith?

Yeah, by quite a bit at that. :isidro: Guess his dream body didn't only have longer and more luscious locks and even more so refined facial features, but also a closer proximity to the stratosphere by a good few inches.

Berserk Miscellaneous / Re: Dark Horse Releasing Berserk Guidebook

It's an artbook (the only real one for Berserk) released in 1997, featuring a long in-depth interview with Miura. The translation for it is here, thanks to Puella and our Patreon backers.

Ahh how silly, I have it in my bookshelf. Never known it by that name though! Thank you.

Neat to be able to read the interview at my leisure, I own the Japanese one as well so as Walter said, rest is pretty meh.

By the way, what is this illustrations guide you guys are talking about? Don't think I've ever heard about it.

This is just disgustingly beautiful!! :isidro:

To be completely honest I've been using this as a wallpaper ever since it was first posted on the Berserk subreddit, so allow me to throw some praises to you here as well Lithrael! For the lavishly painted art spread of course, but mostly for getting me to stow away the bleak and gloomy Bloodborne picture I've been using for the last few months. :ganishka:

Foul whores and putrid posers,
It's time you greet the Dragonslayer.

Like a hellraiser,
Monster of rage,
Unleash the fury through your sword of hate,
Destroy and murder,
Harness the power of the beast.. in black

Yeah it feels like they wear their influences on their sleeves. :ganishka: I like their sound, and while it's not my favorite interpretation of power metal I'm still gonna keep an eye out for their future work.

They have another song out called " Blind and Frozen ", I like it better, however they have not written the lyrics around Berserk. give it a listen if you wanna hear more from them.

I do! It really looks amazing, the size and the level of detail are impressive. Thanks for sharing these pictures. ;)

Nice to hear, and no problems of course.

Yes, thanks for sharing those pictures.

No problems ma..

Now we can have a closer look at how they've fucked up Guts headsculpts and Zodd face.

Oh.

[...] They don't understand (or care) that people wants something accurate to the original material, and not their own take on the characters.

I mean.. Shouldn't they create what they want to do? You're not forced to buy it, and if you want a more exact transition from 2D to 3D then you could always go with First4figures, GECCO, Art of War, Headlong, Max Factory, probably Tsume once they start pumping out some pieces or numerous unlicensed products. Saying that something is ugly is perfectly fine mate, more power to you (maybe a bit rude to people who actually like it, but you're not obligated to cater to our feelings), but don't speak for the majority of the fan- / customer base as if your opinion reflects theirs. In the end Black Swordsman Guts has sold very well and their Berserker flew off their shelves. :iva: Don't know how well Zodd has done so far, but obviously not as good as the other two.

But I imagine that's P1 "realistic" touch...

Yeah, you said it best yourself, and what is wrong with that?
