Character Cove / Re: Griffith and Love???

he loved Casca, Guts and all of the Band of the Hawk. otherwise his sacrifice would have been meaningless.

Rather than 'love', perhaps the more accurate term would be 'value.'

Honestly, with the utter ease with which Griffith humbled Ganishka earlier, I don't think it'll take much more than a episode or two for him to utterly humble and defeat him again, as soon as Griffith has managed to set the appropriate stage.

He was an interesting and useful character foil, provided a good edge to contrast with the other characters being all lovey-dovey towards guts, but... eh, the need for him seems to have passed, though it'd be interesting to have another like him.

Interesting point that the only time that Guts has felt anything resembling peace in his life was with the Hawks, and even then only short intervals between campains. Since they were destroyed, he was thrust again into a succession of years where every minute was a bloody fight for mere survival, everything he did was to keep himself, and later Casca, alive.

Now, again, he's found a brief respite from the constand struggle and pain. It must be quite an alien feeling to him - the certainty that he'd be facing another life and death battle at any moment, for the first time in a long time, just isn't there any more, and for the first time in a long time, he has time to think beyond the next day's survival.

Heh, can I change my vote to Farnese? After seeing Schierke oil up her naked body, damn, I didn't realize how perky her breasts still were. Farnese's breasts, that is, Schierke can't have more than mosquito bites up there.

Is there a Japanese word for "Mother of my child"?

I honestly don't see how Guts can go much longer with the armor.  Between the ridiculous amount of scarring, and the loss of the senses the cons have got to outweigh the pros.

On the other hand, not wearing the armor seens to lead inevitably to him and his friends being easily slaughtered by Apostles. Either way, he's fucked unless the elf king can help him out somehow.

Also worth mentioning is that none present, aside from Guts himself, knew Casca before the Eclipse - all they've seen is her current, broken self.

"Guts – Slipped right through.  Even if I forcibly replace (or add on continuously to) things which I’ve lost, they won’t go back to normal…"

Interesting, if he perhaps (even unconciously) applies that to his new comrades, as well.

Did Guts left nipple explode? o.O

I... still don't know what' going on in this thread. Did someone see Fantasia for the first time?

I'd say Casca is just staring at the sea with her usual, vacant look, Guts protectivly watching over her.

Heh, so who's going to get seasick first? I'm betting it'll be  :serpico:

Otherwise, I'd like to ask the board - do you think there'll be any fairies left alive where they're going, or will it be as deserted as the other 'places where faries used to reside but are now mysteriously absent' places they've been to?

Honestly, I think you guys are overestimating Serpico's abilities, though I agree he's been underutilized recently. With what we've seen of that Shaman's abilities, he wouldn't last more than an uttered syllable. True, we've onle seen the Shaman display wind powers so far, but that seemed the least of his abilities. And I doubt that Serpico, even with the aid of the elves, could survive a demon tornado the way the armored Guts did (with injuries).

Speculation Nation / Re: The Powers That Be

-Griffith/God Hand and associated misc.

-Misc. unknown powers, which includes Guts and co., the Elf King, Skull Knight and such. Relevant, but not powers so much as independant players, not at all united or coherent.

Hell, even with Guts group there's tension - Serpico is only staying for Farnese, who is mostly there for Casca and Schierke, and Schierke's mostly there for Guts and from her mentor's command, and Isidro, who's only mostly there to learn Guts moves. And those other two dudes, who are really only there by accident and from their own motives.

The other misc. entities (eg Skull Knight, Elves, various kingdoms and unknowns) are even less united.

Though Guts does seem to be somewhat of an unintentional bringer-together of some of those misc forces, we've yet to see how that's going to be played out amongst and relate to the larger (Griffith/Kushan) and smaller (Griffith/Guts) and even larger (Guts/Skull Knight vs God Hand) conflicts.

Me, I'm looking forward to it all. :)

I'd say a big reason for it is that Guts just couldn't protect many more people than he is at the moment. With the things chasing after him, plus apostles and etc varoius misc demons, any army he built up, unless it was comprised of monsters such as Griffith now has, would be slaughtered.

(Wait, why DID the chicken cross the road?!  :???:)

Because OMFG berserker Guts is right behind you!

Would certainly be an interesting twist, if Schierke's body was suddenly dead, her soul forever trapped within (but guiding?) the armor.

I'd also say it's significant that Schierke is shown to be in Guts' right (blind) eye.

Makes me go "hmm..." and "woah..."

Another point for seeming greater control would be the efficiency with with he killed these guys, whereas previously, when he went up against just one it almost overwhelmed him.

Someone named "God Hand 1" is shown, as of a few moments ago, as being the newest member of the site.  Coincidence? :???:

Damn that's sneaky. Better watch out, this guy's smarter than expected.

Well, with a name like God Hand, shoulda known he'd be evil. :carcus: :schierke:
