I've just done a clay model study of Ganishka for my painting.

Thank you Gobolatula and IncantatioN for the comments.
Here is the unedited version - will start working on the detail now. Still have the top parts to do.

Hi everyone. Many thanks for the comments.
I'm now working on an oil painting of Ganishka on 60cm X 80cm canvas. The biggest Berserk paintig I've tried so far :ganishka:
I started with the underpainting so you can still see the lines. I tried Burn / Dodge on photoshop for highlight and shadows first to see what it's going to be like . Still not much detail at this stage though.
I want to go for the raging tumour stage when he first appeared to Daiba (Episode 295)  rather than the flaring red eyes seen on Miura's original oil painting.
Any suggestions on the colour of the flesh? I want to make sure that he doesn't turn out like the Treefolks from The Lord of the Rings.

Thank you Aazealh.
Trying to draw Berserk characters with their faces looking  up is quite problematic to me - especially with proper shading. I still get them wrong most of the time.
I'm a little happier with Isma's second pic..

Lith: Thank you very much for the advise. I decided to give it a go with a new drawing.
See what you all think.

I think it looked quite a bit better before the "fix."  :void:

Or something in between, perhaps?  Guts in later chapters seem to have longer hair and it gets quite messy, i suppose.

Truder: Many thanks for pointing out the hair issue and the diagram. I think you're right about that. I've done the correction here.

Stay safe over there.
Thank you, Bangkok seems to get back to normal now. No more explosion, at least.  :ubik:

Here is a new oil colour of Luka. It turns out to be a lot tougher to paint than the last one with the limited palette(Titanium white, Cadmium red, Yellow Ocher, Ivory Black).

Sorry I've been away from the forum for such a long time. I've now moved to Bangkok, completed several exams and now applying for a new job. Life in Bangkok wasn't too easy in the past month - as you probably saw it on TV - I think I can now tell the difference between giant Chinese fire cracker, grenade, M16, sniper rifle sounds. Thanks God now  everything goes back to normal (within the 'normal' parameter). A lot of adjustment to do still.
So, now I can go back to my painting routine again.. Here is another study of Sonia.

Jaze1618 - try to look for Ubik's face. It's a very rough sketch  (far from perfect) so it can be a bit tricky.
Aazealh - many thanks for the suggestion. I will try to do a more refined version if possible.

Just got a friend who came by with a camera so i took a photo of this unfinished project. Still quite a long way to go..
any comments and suggestions are welcome.

I did this rough sketch after I came across some books on Dali's art. Still a lot of room for improvement, I do admit. Hope you can make out what it is.   :rakshas:
I did these two last weekend, although they ar not related to Berserk but i hope you like them.

Void's picture to follow but it will take a bit of time to dry.

Wow. Lots of interesting ideas here. I'm going to start with some God Hand Studies.  :void: :slan: Will post them as i go along. Maybe four separate pictures that can be combined together would be an interesting concept. Not quite sure how yet though  :schnoz:

Thank you very much for advices. Aazealh is right, selling someone else's intellectual property on ebay is quite dodgy. Suppose i can try doing a few small commissions here and see how it goes.

I will be quite free this weekend. Apart from the characters march painting (the one with swans), suppose i can try to do a few A4 size paintings.. Anybody has any suggestions of what i should paint next?

Thank you very much for all the comments. The original size of Ganishka painting is about 30cm X 30cm . Suppose it would work quite nicely as a big picture like 1mX1m size  although  i will probably struggle to get rid of it afterwards.
Zodd picture is on A2 size canvas.
I would not mind selling these pictures at all since its nice to know that they are going to someone who will look after them better than I do. However, I have never sold  a single painting of mine online just never get round to it. Anybody manage to sell their artworks on the net? Any advises on this area?

Many Thanks.

Here is an oil painting of Ganishka.  :ganishka:

For the horserider pic, I decide to change the colour quite drastically. LOADS of cadmium red went into it this time :) A few more detail and it should be finished :zodd:

I will be off work next week so it's going to be my painting spree session!

Hi vee209.

I'm working on a 3D model, Zodd riding a horse, and seeing your own I was wondering if you had some references for the horse equipment, because it's difficult to find and I don't want to do any anachronism, even if it's fantasy...
I was also wondering If I could use a similar pose like the one you made in your great painting.

sure. I will send you some of the reference pictures i used if i have your email address.. Feel free to use this pose. Glad to hear that it inspires you :) Will try to post the complete pic soon.

:isidro:

Seriously, that's the best sketch of Zodd, ever. I'd proudly have that up on my wall. Ever thought of selling your art? :carcus:
Many thanks, Henry. I'm still working on the picture though since i'm not entirely happy with it yet. I kept reworking on it so hopefully you will get to see the final product at some point soon.

I decided to change the colour of the background of Zodd's picture altogether.  Did quite a lot of modification. Here is the state of the pic right now.

Walter - I didn't get a chance to draw Guts last week as the library was closing. Here is the scan. Will transfer it on canvas this weekend.
Many thanks for the comments, M, Griffith and Bunnet.

Thank you for the comments, everyone. It occurs to me that I completely forgot about the two elves! :puck:
Here are more detailed studies of the characters.

Just finished two big exams.. Thanks God I passed both of them. Will start painting again soon.
Here is a pencil study of my next project (although i will have to finish Zodd's picture first). I did this after spending sometime listening to "Sign 2".

Thank you everyone for your comments and suggestions on the drawing. They are definitely very helpful.
Here is where I am on zodd's painting at the moment. Sorry about the quality of the picture. Any comments on the anatomy/ proportion etc before I move on the the details? Many thanks in advance.
