Video Games / Re: Your first Video Game?
« on: March 21, 2011, 01:35:19 PM »
The first console I played was my uncle's Colecovision, along with Zaxxon and Donkey Kong. My own first system was the NES, along with Super Mario Bros, The Legend of Zelda, and Castlevania. I've been hooked ever since...

Looks like we're gonna have DLC costumes for the characters:

Classic Thor
Classic Cap (?)
Iron Patriot

SF1 Ryu
S.T.A.R.S. Chris

I think Capcom's way of giving us more characters will be in the form of alternate outfits like in the case of Iron Patriot and Sparda.  I could easily see Gloria for Trish, and Maximo for Arthur. I'm hoping for 2099 variants for Doom and Spidey.

Game's insane btw! So addicting  :isidro:

2099 Doom is already alsmot there, as one of Victor's four alternate costumes.

Video Games / French guy singing Megaman 2
« on: March 18, 2011, 09:11:20 PM »

It's been a while since my last post around here, but I'd like to share this link with you guys:

Rival Ducan
ROCK BUSTER >>> Niveau 1

I have a strong personal connection to this guy. They're basically casting votes right now in France every day to find out who will appear as a protagonist in a Pepsi commercial... Jérôme is trying his luck by singing Megaman 2 catchy tune in Japanese, with a twist, as he's trying to ressurect "Pepsiman", a Japanese Sentai like super hero in Japanese Pepsi commercials in the 90's... I know this will sound crazy to a lot of you guys, and it probably is, but the guy got heart, and well, he's singing Megaman 2, for crying out loud!! Oh, and, before you ask, I'm not Jérôme, but would really appreciate your help. Thanks!!

Yep, it's really been a while, I dig those new emoticons^^

Berserk Miscellaneous / Re: Berserk characters in Mugen
« on: June 08, 2009, 04:54:16 PM »
Well, here I come to the rescue with a fun Mugen video featuring a Guts character:

Those without an account may have trouble watching it, but registering isn't too difficult.

PS: Ain't that a nice thread revival, eh? :void:

Definitely a nice revival!! Merci Aaz, it was worth waiting :serpico:!!!

Kiddy porn drawings=garbage.

Of course, in Japan, you can buy this stuff pretty much anywhere, and no one will give a damn. You may or may not be labeled as a pervert, and that's it.

Just burn these mangas if you must, and give this guy a break.

To answer Avidwriter, you won't be in trouble if you draw a pot plant, however, draw anything related to kid porn, have someone watch over you, and you might, even though you were just fooling around. Next step:
they put to jail just for talking about it!

I love Pastis, a South French drink which tastes like anis. Years ago, I tried to order one in some bar in Virginia, and, of course, the bartender didn't know what it was... When I explained it tasted like anis, I read the strangest expression on his face, that's when we realized the poor guy thought I meant...anus!!!!!!! :ganishka:

Video Games / Re: The coin-operated video game I spent the most money on
« on: December 06, 2008, 06:46:31 AM »
Street fighter 2, Final Fight, Knights of the Round, Golden Axe...Also, I came back from Japan a few months ago, and did spend some quality time playing Street Fighter 4...
Then, there were also games I got to play only once or twice back in the late 80's, cause I didn't have much cash as a kid, and I'd just stand there and watch... Prehistoric Island, for instance... I played this one again for good a few years back, it's still amazing, even by today's standards.

Actually, this is natural evolution, and there's no way to fight it. In a few years from now, bashing monkeys will be akin to racism.  :void:

I wish they made a "Konami vs Capcom" game, similar gameplay wise to Marvel vs Capcom 2, with characters from Castlevania, Ghost'n goblins, Metal Gear...

You're very welcome :serpico:

Video Games / Re: Suikoden VI (and all that lead up to it)
« on: May 21, 2007, 05:01:02 PM »
okay well here's the deal. Alot of people hate suikoden III and I'll admit it's really different from all the other ones, but I really liked it alot even though the storyline was a little more personal than political. However Suikoden III is the only one that is an actual sequel, the other two are prequels, thus Suikoden III brings about alot of mysteries that still haven't been answered. Suikoden IV was boring, it just never really peaked my intrest at all despite the new battles with ships and rune cannons. However it's very easy and has Ted as a playable character, dunno how much worth it that makes it, but you wont be losing much sweat over it. Suikoden V was great both by my standards and most fan's standards, many fans say it's second only to Suikoden II and I really do think it was great. There's not really much I can say that was bad about it. Nice character list and really fun and intresting. So I mean, I'd reccomend III and V if you wanna be quick about things but just keep in mind that Suikoden III is not that big among fans.

I agree with you, more or less. Suiko 3 and 5 are definitely very good, and Suiko 4 isn't that bad either.
I've heard countless times over how the series went astray after Suiko2, that is to say when they implemented
3d, but to me it's always been one of the best RPG series there is, even though they're definitely too easy, all of them...

News & Not News / Re: Sarkozy Wins
« on: May 07, 2007, 11:53:59 AM »

I must say, as an American, I'm unbelievably happy about this.  Even if we elect a crazy left wing president here, I don't think we'd ever have been able to mend the recent U.S./French discord without Sarkozy on the other end.

As a French man, I'm extremely happy too!

I don't know why they bothered to re-attach it. I mean, yea, I know they HAD to try. But a man who opts to lop off his manhood does not deserve to be endowed with a penis in the first place.  :badbone:

Truer words were never spoken.

The man cut off his penis in a restaurant called Zizzi ??!! Zizi is a French childish word for...dick!! This was all meant to happen by the Law of Causality!!

The new Hokuto no Ken fighting game on Ps2 is pretty awesome, even though there aren't so many playable characters, strongly recommended.

The PSone beat-em-up with the long title (Hokuto no Ken : Seikimatsu Kyuseishu Densetsu) was also quite good.

It's truly the best one, so far.

Shootin' the Breeze / Re: Im conflicted on a new manga, please help!
« on: February 06, 2007, 08:28:05 PM »
It's a matter of personal taste, all right. Blade of the Immortal is darker, and definitely holds a fantasy side while Vagabond is much more realistic, if you will.

Video Games / Re: Hardest video game you've ever played?
« on: July 29, 2006, 07:14:35 PM »
Well all games that I initially thought hard I was able to eventually beat as long as they held my interest. But one game I can definantely say is genuinely hard is Weaponlord >_<. You HAVE to be very good at that game just to even beat the comp. Hell, I still get my face beat in on the lowest difficulty setting (adventurer) and good luck on the default setting(barbarian). You'll be blocked, parried, possibly weapon broken, juggled, combo-citied, and most likely ripped apart(literally) after the match is over and the CPU initiates its fatality sequence >_<. It's not shoddy programming, the programming is a lil too good. In the genesis version, holes and patterns were implemented to make the SNES's brutal ai easier, but they still beat your face in after the 5th round or so on adventurer.

Finally the characters(intentionally) move slow so it's hard to accurately get parrying down unless you have reflexes of a god, but is absolutely neccessary lest you be guard crushed when trying to turtle.

brutal, brutal game  :judo:

One of my favorite fighters of all time!! But I honestly didn't find it so tough. There was this code feature, I never figured out what it was there for, I thought it might let you play as Korn's brother (they mention his existence in the instruction manual...), but it doesn't seem very likely... also, there's this Bane character who looks A LOT like Rock from the Soul Calibur series, both games being from Namco... Awesome game.
