I really like the first one of Guts.

I've actually been playing this beta off and on for a while now - since September last year. The developers are really active and are constantly doing updates and tweaks and providing feedback + youtube videos of their thoughts. I really enjoy that part of it.

Basically, I wanted to play a Diablo game and was tired of waiting for D3. The skills and abilities basically are similar to the Final Fantasy 7 and Final Fantasy 10 systems.

In order to get any abilities you have to get gems than slot them in your weapons/armor. You have support gems and slots that link to each other on your armor - you can get different items to add more slot/remove slots, etc. Your gems level up and get stronger, etc. Pretty much like FF7.

Then when your character levels you have a huge grid to choose from to go whichever path you want. It's only one grid that everyone class uses but  you start off at different places. Here is an example of one of my builds. So, again similar to FF10.

I feel bad as this has been in Beta since August and just releasing around the time D3 is coming out. I think it would have been better if it was much sooner so people that wanted to get their fix early could play it as D3 is just going to be so huge.

I haven't been following D3 as much as I would rather be surprised at all the new stuff. But I really like this system and game plus for health potions they use something like Flasks from Dark Souls - where you get better ones and upgrade them. So, you don't have to keep finding potions and filling your inventory with them. Instead, you find ones that heal you better and every time you kill an enemy it recharges! The more you kill efficiently the more your health pots refill!

Got around to listening to this. Loved it.

I laughed pretty hard for some reason when Aaz said, "What's a French door?"

Played the new Twisted Metal game over the weekend. The first shipment includes Twisted Metal Black which is a nice surprise.

The campaign is pretty over-the-top, dark, and goofy as it always is. The campaign missions, for the most part, are pretty fun too - just kill your enemy. Unfortunately, they have to change things and now for each campaign you have these races that you need to complete. The checkpoints are hard to see and some of them you have to drive up buildings and then jump from building to building. So, if you fall you're pretty much screwed. It makes it real unenjoyable when I just wanted to kill people with cars! The only downside is you have to complete all the campaigns to unlock vehicles so I'm forced to do all these stupid challenges (the boss fights are dumb too) just to play online multiplayer with everything. So, if you don't mind the story mode and can complete it on the hardest difficulty to unlock all the characters then the multiplayer online is pretty fun!

Man Incantation you seem to be everywhere huh?

Incantation is everywhere.

I was considering hiking up that mountain with you because I don't live that far away from there, but after seeing your pics I'm glad I kept my lazy ass on the couch playing games  :serpico:

You should next time, it would be a good experience. Plus, Incantation is one of the nicest people you'll meet.

Awesome intro music Nomad - it feels very "epic" with bass and other sounds. (I don't know instruments very well.)

This episode was fantastic!! I did enjoy the episode 327 discussion as well. The thing that is hard (for me) to do is be current with the new episodes. Even though Puella translates them for us (which is amazing btw) it sometimes takes a while and hard to discuss the episode to it's fullest. So, I guess that makes it harder for you guys to discuss it in this manner.

I won't lie. That re-read section gave me chills about the thoughts/theories of what could Charlotte do in the future, etc. It's stuff like this that gets me motivated to re-read the series as I just never even thought about that scene again after I've read it.

Btw, the Berserk picture Aazealh mentioned that is hanging on his wall is here:

Hello everyone!

I am from Turkey/Istanbul and have been collecting statues and various stuff since 2002 i guess. mostly marvel, dc, game characters, some anime figures and props of all kind. I am a huge anime&manga and obviously a berserk fan.

Hello Onizuka,

Another, turkish person - nice! Also, I'm intrigued by the marvel/dc statues. As part of your initiation you must post them here right away!

I'm kidding of course... maybe.  :slan:

But I'm not sure we can get to everything we have planned for this week though.

That's just too bad. Guess you're just gonna have to do a podcast next week and the week after, right????  :guts:

Could it be something by Nomad??? Looking foward to it :guts:

That was my original thought and I hope so too!

also, I have to start formulating complicated questions for you guys to answer on air, I don't want you to let your guard down for a moment. :troll:

I know right?! Questions like...

How many sodas is Walter drinking a week now?
How many forum members has Aazealh made cry?
How long is Griffith's hair currently?

Seriously though, just in the past two days we've already come up with a ton of good discussion ideas already in the show notes we've been preparing. There's no shortage of good topics to choose from without having to dip into a re-read.

To add more topics to the already jam packed episodes. Obviously, with the movie coming out this site is going to get a lot more attention. I looked at the stats the other day and was completely shocked at the number of new members last year. Like, I almost don't believe it as this board doesn't seem that saturated with an overlord of comments/posts during those times. Are these numbers correct? or bots? Or any thoughts in general on this topic of's future if all these members were to start posting regularly? It seems it would be out of control for the three of you to maintain.

Yesterday was a fun, dangerous and challenging for me. Drove 3 and a half hours to climb Mt. Greylock in MA.

Whoa, pretty cool. Glad it turned out okay and no one got hurt. But geez falling down and sliding would be pretty scary on an ice mountain.

The last two pictures are really great. Nice scenery.

When I saw the date of the post asking if there was an interest I was really surprised to see one already uploaded haha.

Yes, my thoughts exactly. I was actually going to be pretty upset if someone voted No or Maybe. Even if it was a joke - it's unacceptable! Glad no one did though. Good job community! :ubik:

Man, good podcast, guys. It was a great listen. I really liked all your movie talk. The intro segment was great, too. Got to learn a little more about you guys and the history of the site, which is cool as hell.

Quit being so modest we all know you were thinking to yourself: "NAILED IT!"  :troll:

Just got done listening to it. I'm very impressed at how good it was for the first time. I agree with Oburi on Walter being an excellent host and cleary he has done this before or something similar to his line of work. The preparation was great and going from topic to topic was pretty fluid.

Some thoughts:

  • Intro music = awesome! You should add an outro music as well.
  • I felt the introductions were just right as far as time wise.
  • Aaz and Griff used a lot of "you know" - I do this a lot too, just being constructive.
  • I like the off topic at the end and feel it's a good transition to wrap up the show and future shows.
  • A list of topics discussed in the podcast on the episode post would be cool - even though it's a pretty casual podcast. (Sorry, now I'm just being greedy).

I intend to implement some Q+A from the forum for a section on the podcast. I'll also be having some other forum members as guests on the show in the future. I hope you guys enjoy, and please give me some feedback on what you'd like to see moving forward.

Q&A and forum members as guest would be great. While I still like the show's meat and potatos focusing on berserk itself, I think the following might be some good off topics as well:

  • I would definitely like to hear from the moderators as well. How they got to be a moderator? What's their story? What is it about their respected sections they find so appealing?
  • On the Off topic discussion: I think it would be nice to hear any quick comments/thoughts on recent/interesting threads that cropped up on the forum that week like the creation station, Berserk Micellaneous, etc.
  • Discussion on older threads/topics that have been long forgotten about.
  • Theories/thoughts on why certain parts of the adaptation got cut out/shorten or altered (examples: like Guts childhood or why the god hand members are on different parts of the hand that Aaz mentioned recently.)

Anyways, overall this was fantastic! Oh, and nice hearing you guys too. I guess I should go to some of the other forums and tell them you guys aren't actually bots!

Site & Forum News / Re: Interested in a Berserk podcast?

This sounds like an incredibly fun idea. I'd definitely listen, and I'll be happy to support you guys in any way that I can! :ubik:

I repeat this.

Also, every so often on Sundays I hop on the chat and I'm sometimes joined by branded, truder, incantation, and others. Just how you mentioned - there are topics that come up that I don't feel have a place on the forum but it's interesting to discuss and talk about in the chat.

So, going off the podcast idea... I'd be interested (in addition to) in some type of weekly/biweekly/monthly chat session to kinda talk about the current state of Berserk. Also, to chat about just the people here themselves in general. I feel I know a lot more about Th3Branded0ne and others through this format than the forums. And it's kinda nice to talk to someone "live" with similar interests that I don't really have outside the internet.

Here is a mini update before weekend

Even a "mini" update seems like a lot to me! The armor pieces look really good now and "rustic" like you said.

Even though it's rough draft of the head it looks 12389018 times better.

It was a pain in the ass to record and took forever to load, but here's the first ten minutes of the film.  There was no fullscreen option (only one to make the video slightly bigger) so enjoy my Firefox Miku skin!

Note that a bit of the footage here has been censored, but will be shown in its uncensored entirety in theaters and its eventual home video release.

Awesome. Thank you!! I will look at your Miku Firefox skin any day for content like this!

Got him in today.  Need to run out for the rest of the night so I can't really dissect this thing and take quality pics until later, but initial impressions are that he's a solid figure.  Only knocks against it are the wash used on his angry face (it's a bit too much) and the material used for the cape.  Hope those are less of an issue with Griffith.

Nice picture! I got mine today too. This is actually a really good action figure. It's pretty detailed and they give you lots of hands, two heads, a stand and even a plastic bag to hold it all in!

The previous link to this did do this justice. Except for the alternate head, which I think looks MUCH better in person.

I agree, this is a pretty solid action figure.

I didn't even create any unique weapons, killed most of the none playable characters, and just ended up with Gavel's armor and a dark knight great axe as my main weapon.

Doesn't matter, Black Knight GreatAxe (+5) sooooo good.
