Wires!  :chomp: I'm at 4,710 tris, which is pretty good for a game character.

and started I can't wait for my Zbrush class next month. I've got so much to learn.

After seeing Final Fantasy music in concert last night, the repressed fanboy in me really wants to replay FFVI or something.....but instead....

Obviously when a date is announced I'll post about it.

Not unlikely, it's sure we won't.

At first, I found this to be rather disheartening. Then I remembered it's December 11th and 2010 is right around the corner...why does that seem so strange to me.  :???: Anyway, the man deserves his breaks. I'm sure when it starts up again we're in for some seriously great action from Guts.

Manga Mausoleum / Re: Dark Horse Releases

Just wanted to let everyone know that it's really fun watching your Berserk collection go from 5 volumes to 20 in about three weeks. I never had much money to spare until recently, so I've always just bought Young Animal and the Japanese volumes when I could. Now that I have a job, and my expenses are fairly low for now, I'm going on a Dark Horse shopping spree.  :guts:

I'm also kind of surprised at how much I like the quality of the releases. They seem to keep improving, and save for a few minor complaints, I'm mostly satisfied with the translation. The community's thorough analysis and translations have no doubt spoiled me.

Thanks for pointing out that tri Aphasia. He's all quads now  :badbone:

The low-poly is pretty much done I think...I just need to make him some eyeballs. Anywayyyyyyy, here's a test render I did in 3DS max, using just a solid purple color and some lights haha. Don't be too harsh on it, as I have not sculpted the details or made a real texture yet  :iva:

I think it's a good base though. besides the pink feet.

Just found out that Nobuo Uematsu's coming to my school to talk Thursday, so I'll be listening to him.  :guts:

But really, I'm actually listening to Between The Buried And Me, The Dear Hunter, and like everything At The Drive-In has ever put out. It's putting me in a good winter mood.

Speculation Nation / Re: What will Falconia be like?
« on: November 29, 2009, 05:03:27 PM »
It's cliche, but I'm banking on Charlotte aiding Guts and co. one last time before the end, and then Griffith kills her for her treachery.  :femto:

As for Falconia, I've been wondering about the more important Apostles' role. What Griffith has right now is a city filled with essentially four groups: Apostle generals, lesser apostles, human politicians/figureheads, and human commoners/military. I'm curious to see how delegation is handled, if at all. I mean, you've got some people who have been in the nobility their whole lives; do you let them continue their duties from Midland? Are any of the higher-ranked Apostles suitable for a position other than policing or brute enforcement? (And is Midland's human army even necessary anymore?) So many questions...such difficulty in figuring much out until it happens. And this is all on the assumption that this new world is going to strive to appear or even be equal. I suppose it's possible Griffith will just rule with fear, over both human and apostle alike; it's not like anyone stands a chance against him.

...And then finally we have come full circle, making that horrid first episode of the anime correct: "Things have been awful ever since Griffith became king."  :griffnotevil:

Creation Station / Femto Model

Howdy guys. I saw Aphasia's thread and it inspired/reminded me to start showing my work here, since I picked Femto as a project a couple weeks ago. It's nowhere near as awesome as his and I've still got some things to tweak before I bring it in for sculpting, but as Berserk fans, I thought I'd see what you guys think.   :guts:  Here's a little preview, I'll add more when I get home. Thanks!

P.S. The funky green colors are just for my benefit. I enjoy modeling in turquoise.

Large Breasts and me being a motor boat!

I approve of this Christmas gift. Hopefully there are some tasty deals on Black Friday.  :carcus:

In all seriousness:

-Assassin's Creed 2
-Some comfy, but stylish clothes
-most importantly, a Wacom Intuos4 tablet. I'm half-decent at Photoshop and Zbrush, but I've reached my limits with a mouse. I must acquire a kick-ass tablet to continue my path.   :beast:

I'm only about 15 hours in, and started the Circle Tower segment a bit early because I'd heard from others that getting Wynn asap helps a lot on the healing side of things (And it does). At first I wasn't too thrilled about the confusing nature of the dungeon, but after completing it, it's my favorite questline so far. I won't spoil anything, but I thoroughly enjoyed the abilities you acquire while making your way to the Demon who presides over the tower.

And I just became a Berserker today. Mmm. :beast:

There's money just waiting to be made in such a venture.

Yeah, if they dumb the anime down even further so that it's appropriate for viewers younger than 17.  :schierke:
I know Berserk's popularity has only increased with time, but I'm not sure it's at a stage where a graphic, true-to-the-manga series would be profitable. Not saying you're arguing this, of course.

Video Games / Re: Dragon Age: Origins

Well, went ahead and bought the game on Steam thanks to Aaz's screenshots.  :slan:
I went with a Human Noble Warrior, and I'm only a few hours in, but man am I having fun. I'm in the group of people who missed the boat on the Baldur's Gate games and tried to get into them recently, but found 'em too dated to enjoy. Dragon Age, however, is the game I've been yearning for for years: old school fantasy RPGness with pretty graphics.

Also, I named my dog Pippin as well Walter haha. As soon as the game gave me the option, I knew it had to be Berserk related, and my mind instantly recalled Griffith's hallucination pre-Eclipse. Silly Pippin. :serpico:

There are way too many games out/coming out in the next few months. Currently I have on my plate: Demon's Souls, Borderlands, Dragon Age, Modern Warfare 2; and I was already on the tail end of a super-hardcore-replay of FFXII.

And then there's that God of War 1 and 2 bundle for PS3 soon...  :judo:

In our mostly unsupervised office, two coworkers and I spend a couple hours each day LANing Borderlands  :guts:

Hey y'all, long-time lurker here.  :rakshas:

Just wanted to give a couple ideas for music to listen to while reading the manga. If you're a fan of orchestral pieces at all, I highly recommend the Shadow of the Colossus soundtrack by Kow Otani, as well as the soundtrack to the anime film Jin-roh. Those two have always conveyed a variety of emotions to me, which I believe is fitting to the best manga in the world. The tracks are mostly dark and foreboding, but with a small glimmer of hope or struggle. Even if they don't suit your manga reading, I think they're great standalone soundtracks to listen to as well.
