Lol I only asked in case it might´ve picked up where the series ended, which was when I started liking it.

Yeah I did notice the Twin Peaks hype, not only on this board but other places as well, got a sister who pretty much worships it too. I think I kinda watched it the wrong way, cause its supposed to be more of an aesthetically stimulating experience, rather than a story-oriented one, right? And I was constantly looking for plot advancing and thus felt like the show was just stalling. But despite not really liking it, I actually did finish it, I wanted to like it so bad cause eveyone else did. Sadly, when it felt like the show finally got a little spark, it ended. Never saw the movie(s?) though, should I?

I think what got to me most of all was that soundtrack, felt like I couldnt stand it already after the first couple of episodes...

Just finished season 4 of Boardwalk Empire. I wish we would´ve gotten a bit more, the ending felt a little anti-climatic, I guess it´d be hard to top the previous season finale though. Best thing about this season is easily Nelson´s scenes, Im really liking his character development even if it might´ve been predictable since a while back, Shannon´s a great actor. This scene inparticular is beyond epic

Now If Im not miscalculating here, at least six of the main cast´s been killed off this season :carcus:

Looks interesting actually. Not a big fan of Twin Peaks though, so Im not holding my breath, but I´ll probably give it a chance.

I would like to make more copies. Last week in Paris, France, was the 3D Print Show. I got some contacts with great companies to print my Guts sculpture.
I am going to make a 3D print prototype and then cast resin kits.
The process to prepare the 3D sculpture to be printed is very difficult and painful... But I will manage it. It will just make the whole process longer than I expected.
In the end, the quality will be really great.

I think I will be able to cast the prototype early 2014.

Wow! Thats awesome! :guts: Greater news than I could ever hope for! What pose are you going for? That one dispayed in the program? (neutral) Or is this the bust you were talking about?

But it's still very time-consuming. Especially with a 2D character, since the artist can use some tricks which will work with 2D, but won't in 3D... So it's like a reconstruction job.

Yeah I can definitely see how that could be tricky, but for what its worth I think it looks good this far. And the face looks to be well on its way too, but I guess the detail work gets to a whole different level when making a 1/1 bust eh?

I think I will reduce the handle

Just a little, ye? :iva: ...well anyway, from what I´ve seen this far, I feel confident enough you´ll make it look good either way.

I did see Gravity though, and I'll say that this movie is a must-see in 3D. It was made to be seen in 3D. The homage to 2001 and the "evolution"-ish ending were very cool too. I usually don't like Bullock but they could've had a cardboard cutout in there and I still would've enjoyed it for the cinematography alone.

I second that. I cant imagine you´ll even get half the experience in 2d. Not that I´ve seen a whole lot of 3d movies but this one is the best yet from that perspective.

I know its just a movie blah blah but can you really be conscious, let alone live at all, for that long without oxygen??? :???:

I dont particularly care that much for his earlier works but what really opened up my eyes for his potential was Black Swan, man that movie was exhausting to watch but boy did it do its job well! So artistic and aesthetically stimulating. But also extremely dramatic (which clearly is supposed to be the point) and that might explain...

But yeah I´ll probably watch it just cause of Crow and the over-all setting.

Sorry for jumping on the thread necro wagon here. ^She started it :iva:

The first Guts-Casca kiss for sure. Its like you´ve been holding your breath the entire time up to that point...FINALLY!!! :guts:
Oh and the way they act afterwards, I love the whole innocence factor, gosh they´re so cute! :ubik:
...But I guess Im not exatcly the first one to bring up this moment so...

And of course their reunion hug at Albion.

Might seem weird but a different sort of happiness is definitely felt when he gets the Berserker Armor. The team-up attack with Zodd too.

Im already hungry for more! :beast: Next one Dec. 15, man this is some crazy luxury! :serpico:

Im defintely gonna get these YA issues, I can only imagine how much better those pages must look irl.

Im'a let this sink in for now, patiently waiting for that delicious translation, much obliged you guys that already gave us some intell.

You´re not the only one, man! :guts: And I´d say with good reason!

Wow that was bad! :ganishka: Sorry! What I meant was the general art style development of Miura and inparticular the different ways hes drawn Guts´ face over the years. It seemed like a good parrallel at the time, the missing eye totally escaped me somehow :???: Of course the Black swordsman must miss an eye! I get fucked in the head when I work night shifts for longer periods, sorry for the bad parrallel, guys!

My ultimate point - without any horrible example - is that things arent always depicted the exact same way, which by no means makes an illustrator bad, in fact I think its charming, and definitely in Berserk.

There, hope I´ve not completely lost face on this board yet :iva:

EDIT: I know its not called the Troll arc and I knew I´d get shit for it, just thought it was a small price to pay to get my point across, which clearly didnt work anyway :iva: Im done now...

Ok, I cant very well disagree that a 100,000YEN piece should pre-eminently be 100% likeness, so one have all right to be critical about it.

Aside from that - and immensely less relevant of course - I just dont get that a berserk fan in general would be bothered by Guts´ sword handle being a little long, and seriously its the freakin DS we´re talking about here, can it even be too big/long? :iva: ...but thats just my weird opinion I guess. I just dont see it as an inconsistency the way you do, as Im pretty sure there are some scene(s) where the handle really is that long. To me its kinda like complaning that they´d do a Troll arc Guts statue with the face of pre-eclipse Guts. Wouldnt really matter to me.

Haha coincidence you chose to to go with THAT photo inparticular? :ganishka: You do realize that photo is taken just from the edge of the handle, right? Ya know, to get a cool perspective? Which by default makes it look bigger/longer.

Anyway, on the other hand I still realize it is a little long for that particular scene, so what? Like someone else recently said on the matter, everything isnt the same size/dimension in all instances, get over it. I dont get why it would bother anyone to that degree.

Feels like a must buy, but that price...MAN! Thats gonna ruin me. I hate AoW right now.

On a side note, I wonder what ideas they'd have for a re-paint :iva:

Wyrm, unless I missed something you've yet to present us with your take on it. Why did he confront Guts on the Hill of swords? Did you even reach a conclusion?

Creation Station / Re: 3D Zodd sculpt and other stuff

This version of Guts is something I´ve wanted sculpted for ages! Nice choice, man! 3D modeling looks like a whole lot fun, I bet its time consuming though huh?

Of course I clearly see this project is at a very early stage but you werent planning on making more copies of any of those 3 you mentioned? See where Im going with this? :guts: ...Nah I wont bother you, just know that theres definitely an interest for it.

And yo, funny thing about the handle, I was just pointing it out in another thread, and yours is awesome dude! Long is definitely the way to go imo. Looking forward to futher updates.

Wasnt it the other half of the soul (Guts-Casca-baby) that made him confront Guts/Casca at the Hill of Swords (despite how he might´ve justified it - taking into accout his comprehension of his new, very recently incarnated self - whatever that comprehension might be /at that point)

Berserk Merchandise / Re: AOW - new statue coming out in Nov
« on: November 11, 2013, 10:13:04 PM »
I'll never understand how these statues get to the final stage with something like the DS's handle being twice as long as it should be.

You kidding me? :iva: Thats one thing I´ve always liked about Guts´ swords. I mean isnt it supposed to be long as hell? Its both cool and more logical that way since the "blade" part is so ridiculously huge, plus the majority of Guts´ slashes his way of holding it is almost reminiscent of how you would hold a spear/halberd rather than a sword, so it only makes sense that its long...

Oh and if that´ll indeed be the price everyones speculating, I wont be able to afford it even if I use my savings account AND begging family/relatives for early-christmas-present-money.

^Wow. Funny guy there :void:

:beast: Oooooh seriously how can one make an image with so little in it look so epic!?!?! Deserves to be on this page too and I´d have quoted it if Johnny hadnt done it first :guts:

Well.. I for one gotta say Im a bit relieved actually -_-' cause I first thought the price would be extreme, but at this scale probably they wont embarrass us like that now. So look on the bright side, andrew, like myself, you hopefully wont have to resort to bank loans in order to afford it :carcus:

Wow that Rakshas is amazing for being home made! I actually think the clay looks perfect for the cloak, the twist-thing was a great idea. And tbh its cool how you were able to make a pefectly decent mask too at that scale. Another idea could be to only make the cloak outta clay and fix another material for the mask, like say, a little processed piece of wood or something and take like thorns from some bush (exist where I live anyways) for the spikes/teeth to make them look as athentic as possible... Haha just thinking out loud :iva: This made me wanna do this kinda stuff too.

I gotta say he makes a good point though, it truly is a badass introductuion, character or not. Grunbeld´s apostle form introduction might be fair to mention here btw. Fuckin fire breathing crystal dragon! :guts: Oh I gotta get home and re-read this part for about the 987,898,698th time or so.

:ganishka: Miura's never said that. You're mistaking it with something else entirely.

I seem to recall someone saying something like that too. Who was it and regarding what? (On the other hand its something anyone could´ve said about pretty much anything I guess :iva: )

Great skullcast, you guys :guts: Cool timing btw, I was actually just about to rewatch MoS. But man! I cant describe how psyched I am for Gigantomakhia, just the title itself sounds so powerful (love Walters japanese pronounciation there :guts: ) yes, almost more psyched than for Berserk at this point, cause I really believe this will ignite his full creativeness for it in the future. And so thrilling with this greek mythology, a concept truly worthy of an artist such as Miura (granted there ARE artists like Miura out there :iva: )
