I'm loving this monthly schedule. Thanks for posting the episode and summary, Aazealh!

I love Erika's expression when she sees the Garuda for the first time.

I guess my theory about Griffith turning into the Moonlight Boy like some kind of a werewolf is shot, given that he's standing right in front of the full moon at the end of the episode.

Miura's comment for this episode was: "J.J. Abrams is a man I can trust!!"

I love how much of a Star Wars nerd Miura is. I hate to admit it, but I'm geeking out, too. :void:

And as a reminder, the digital edition of Young Animal is now out and can be purchased for cheap at

Thanks for the reminder, Aaz!

I always wondered, what did ganishka's fog do when daiba inhaled it?

I've always assumed it enhanced his magical abilities.

What a fantastic episode. I'm always amazed at how much Miura can cram into approximately 20 pages.

I could see it being Silat and the tapasa battling Rakshas, but it's hard to guess when the rest of the episodes haven't been released.

Thanks for the summary and preview pics, Nymoath!

To be honest I think I might prefer the old mask even though the new one is nice.

So does Rakshas. :rakshas:

I'd love for us to see Skellig by the end of the year, but I think we've got several more Falconia episodes to go.

I finished reading The Amber Spyglass and Lyra's Oxford. I ordered Once Upon A Time in the North, and in the meantime I'm reading To Kill A Mockingbird.

Quick read! How do you do it Rhomby?!! I assume the book was pretty good?

Slow work week. :serpico:

It was decent. Some parts really drag, but others are very interesting.

What an episode. I'm so happy Berserk is back.

As others have said, I think Griffith ordered Rakshas to kill Rickert, or Rakshas witnessed Rickert slap Griffith and decided to take matters into his own hands (spikes?). I can't see Locus ordering Rakshas to kill Rickert, because they're peers.

I hope Miura lets us back into Griffith's head one day. I'd really like to know what he's thinking.

Spurred by its 50th anniversary this year, I started reading Dune again -- for the 4th time. I'm sure those who have been on this forum a while already know how much I love this book. And this time, maybe just maybe I'll read Herbert's other Dune books as well.  :void:

Nice! Have fun! :serpico:

They may not be as brilliant, but you can't call yourself a fan without having read them! :puck:

Damn straight. :puck:

I really loved Neuromancer and I kept meaning to read the sequels in the Sprawl Trilogy yet never got around to it - maybe I should give Neuromancer a re-read, since I read it like 5 years ago, and then dive into Count Zero and Mona Lisa Overdrive.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with rereading Neuromancer; it's a great book. Count Zero comes highly recommended as well, but like I said above, I didn't care for Mona Lisa Overdrive. That being said, as a career completionist, I still think you should give it a shot. You may feel differently about it when you're finished.

Episode #338 will be published in Young Animal #15 (24/07).

Great news!

Look like serie will became monthly from this episode.

Even better! :ubik:

I finished reading Mona Lisa Overdrive over the weekend. I really enjoyed Neuromancer and Count Zero, but Mona Lisa Overdrive was really disappointing, especially the ending, which felt like it was tacked on as an afterthought.

I've started reading Northern Lights (known as The Golden Compass in the U.S.), because I've heard good things about it and the rest of His Dark Materials from a number of friends.

Mine's FFXII! :troll:

And if you had told me as a teenager that it's pretty much downhill from here, I'd be pretty fucking bummed.

Ugh, no shit.

I think the post below is probably what you're remembering:

Ah, that's the one. Strange, what time does to memory.

Chrono Trigger, a blast from the past.

Nice. I can't tell you how many hours of my life I've spent playing that game.

Video Games / Re: What Are You Playing?

Did I say that? I'm not sure I'd call it my favorite, but I think the gameplay is superior to previous games in the series, that's for sure.

I think so. It was years ago, so I could be misremembering it.

I've played about 10 hours of FFXII, and I really enjoyed it. Howver, I can't remember the specifics (this was years ago), but something about the meandering story weighed the experience down for me, and I never ended up finishing it.

I'd revisit it were it to come to Steam or something ( 7, 8 and 13 are on it, so why not?)

That's too bad about the meandering story. I imagine it'll come to Steam one day.

Yeah, unfortunately the story is...not very good. The ending in particular was quite underwhelming from what I remember.

That sucks. Well, I'll see what I think of it. :void:

"HA. HA. HA. HA. HA. HA. HA."  :ganishka: (seriously, that's all I really remember from that game)

How does it hold up?

Oh, God, that part. It was nostalgic playing Final Fantasy X again. I really enjoyed it when I played it back in 2002 (the voice acting not-so-much, but I thought the game was a lot of fun), and I'd never played Final Fantasy X-2 before. X-2 was okay; parts of it were really fun, but it didn't feel quite as polished as the first one. I'm really looking forward to playing XII. I've heard it's one of the best of the series (I seem to remember Aaz saying that it was his favorite).
