Well don't just coast over that! What did you think of Zelda 2? How about that final dungeon?  :magni:

Haha, sorry! I liked it. It was an interesting departure from the other 8- and 16-bit Zelda games. The final dungeon sucked, but not as much as the approach to Death in Castlevania (my litmus test for all platform games). It was the final two bosses that were a killer for me. I'm ashamed to admit it, but I was down to no lives left and very little health when I encountered Dark Link, so I had to use the corner trick to beat him (I can feel the scowls of hardcore gamers everywhere turning toward me). I still think The Legend of Zelda is my favorite of the two, but I enjoyed them both.

I finished Zelda II: The Adventure of Link yesterday and started playing Super Mario Bros. 3. I played this one a lot as a kid, but never beat it (mainly because you had to finish it all in one go, and there was never enough time to do that at my friend's house). I played through the first world on the bus to work this morning and I'm having a blast.

I finished The Legend of Zelda and Metroid, and now I'm playing Super Mario Bros. 2 (the U.S. version). Man, playing these games takes me back. :void:

I'm taking a break from Lovecraft and reading Carrie. It's pretty good so far. I saw the De Palma movie as a teenager, so I know what's going to happen, but it's really well written.

I finished the first three episodes of Wolfenstein 3D over the weekend and started playing The Legend of Zelda on my brand-new 3DS (which was an early Christmas present from my wife).

I've never beaten the original Zelda, but I remember giving up on it repeatedly as a kid.

I've collected two pieces of the Triforce so far, and am currently working my way through the third dungeon and having a great time.

I finished Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake over the Labor Day weekend, and finished The Secret of Monkey Island yesterday. I'm now playing Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge and am loving it so far.

Finished reading Frankenstein and Who Goes There? (for those who are unaware, this is the short story John Carpenter's The Thing was based on).

Right now, I'm in the middle of reading The Complete Fiction of H.P. Lovecraft. :void:

So then....this means the "Berserk: Flame Dragon Knight" light novel is actually canon after all?  :magni:

Only if you read it. :slan:

I finished playing Dragon Quest VI over the weekend. It was probably my least favorite of the series and seemed like a step back after Dragon Quest V.

I'm really enjoying Knights of the Old Republic. It's like Star Wars meets Mass Effect, and since I'm a huge fan of both those franchises (minus the SW prequels and ME: Andromeda), I'm having a blast.

Still playing Dragon Quest VI, but I'm getting a little bored with it, so I started playing Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic in order to take a break from the DQ series for a bit. I'm only a few minutes in, though. :serpico:

Yeeeeeeeep. With the way the dog, coffin, doll and all were represented, I figured all her memories might take on surreal forms, but it wasn't the case here... So will the really traumatic events also be depicted as they happened? Will some parts be as they happened while others are figurative? Finding out is sure to be a dreadful time.

I wonder if Danan will need to intervene if it becomes too traumatic.

I enjoyed it a lot. I thought Aslan did a great job of simplifying a lot of complicated material and research into a coherent narrative.
