the translator of the german edtion spelled Schierke with an L because that's the name of a witch of an old tale in northern germany.
Kjaskar is also an old german name.

Wait... then how did Griffith no More get the pic of the firery beast???

he's part of the conspiracy...  :carcus:
The picture is taken from episode 228.

I was wondering about the release of the episode because it's golden week in japan.
But since april 28 was stated as the date of release at several pages in the net, I took this one for real.
maybe they all fell victim to skull-lords evil scheme

They have destroyed the most part of the kushan army that attacked the city. They will be famous for that if somenone has seen their power. And if that it's the case perhaps they have to spend sometime with the people of the city.

I don't think that the Daka and Makara at the harbor were the main part of the kushan invasion troops.
As far as we know, there's also a land general approaching Vritannis with his troops and by now nearly the whole city should be in turmoil.

Guts & co. have already been seen by some of the holy seas troops... and it didn't look to me as if they wanted to savor their "fame".
In fact, Guts never ever gave a damn about the fuss that was made by others about his battles... and right now his primary goal is to leave the city as fast as he can.
So, even if this scenario can't be totally excluded of the speculation, I think it's very unlikely that the group will still be in Vritannis when the battle is over.

EDIT: damn... walter was faster.

On the picture you can see, that guts is still able to move fast, jump and fight. So i hope he can
make it.

with this injury of his, he'll surely bleed to death if this fight takes too long... especially if he keeps jumping around like a kangaroo.

Well, although there is no official spelling for the town's name for now, you must know the German edition's spelling of proper nouns isn't reliable. In doubt, I'd rather have us accord ourselves on a single spelling.

like i said, i got confused over the various spellings... i never intented to establish this as the new and ultimate spelling here.

to come to a bit more speculation:

since guts & co. want to leave the town as soon as possible, they eventually won't meet azan on their way out of the skirmish.
if we now assume that azan wasn't introduced in vritannis for nothing, a possible scenario could be that he will, as one of the last few survivors of this battle, meet up with the band of the hawk.
this would imo be a very interesting turn of events.

even in regards to the Vritannis battle...

pardon me... i get confused over the various translations from time to time. i  buy the german panini-issues of berserk and there the spelling is vulitanis.

Ganishka's more than likely calling the shots.  He's already given evidence of his presence back at the ballroom.  It wouldn't be that much of a stretch to presume he can focus attention to wherever there is fog.

i'm well aware of that ganishka is the mastermind behind all this and it's rather clear that he knows about everything that's going on inside the fog. but if he could use his full powers no matter how great the distance is, i wonder why he sent those tiger-familiars to kill the nobles at the ball instead of toasting them with some of his lightning-bolts he used to kill the neohawk-lancers.
i just think that right now ganishka means no direct physical threat to guts & co.

As far as the present situation is concerned, like I said earlier, Daiba is probably a powerful person and will the focus of this upcoming battle.

that's just what i'm trying to say...

Not even Schierke (in spite of her current state)?

considering her current state, i think anything she can do for now would be something to affect guts from the inside. so i assume it will be our "beast swordsman" who takes out daiba.

but miura has proofed me wrong countless times... so i wouldn't be surprised if it would happen in a totally different way than i expect.

If I were to assign the title "big cheese", it would probably be to Ganishka.  But, yea, Daiba's more than likely powerful.

i was talking about only the vulitanis-battle. i don't think ganishka will appear in person and we haven't seen the ominous "land-general" so far... so daiba is the biggest cheese that appeared up to now.

Serpico's the one specialized in Kushan casters elimination after all; I hope Daiba's got his head screwed on the right way, else he might lose it. :serpico:

I would love it... though I don't see this happening.
The last time we saw Serpico fighting seriously against a strong/equal opponent(except Guts) was, when he fought the Kelpie.
Since then, we had a few Isidro-battles, Schierke-sorcery and Farnese-family-business.
I think it's about time to put the focus on him once more.

But Daiba is the big cheese here... I can't see anyone except Guts dealing with him.

i don't have much to say about this episode that hasn't already been pointed out.

first: thanx for the scans, aaz... you rule as always.

I wonder how Schierke will be able to join in the fight somehow when she's stuck inside the armor. 'Cause I don't think Guts will be able to do much against Daiba with just brute force.

On the other hand, we haven't seen any of Daibas magical abilities so far... except of floating and controlling pishacha.

there's already a translation in the translation-section.

miura found a good solution there for schierke being able to hold back guts without the appearance of the moonlight child.
but how is she going to go back to her real body? knotty situation, indeed.

i'd like to see how the troops of the holy see are dealing with the attack so far.
there are so many armies gathered in vritannis, that they can't simply be overrun... even if the number of daka is as large as we can assume for now.
especially with azan in the middle of it, this would be an intersting side-scenario to guts' party fighting their way to rodericks ship.
but most likely miura will show these things soon enough and i'm just to impatient.

i also wonder if this large amount of makara was staying at the harbour anyways or if daiba already sensed guts' group and tries to corner them(unlikely but possible).

So, you see him defeating the whole Kushan army? From Sonja's prediction, Vritannis will be burned to the ground, so given the context, I'm more in favor of the "escape" kind of scenario.

I was thinking more of a scenario where they are somehow forced to stay and not fighting back the Kushans out of heroic intentions or something like that.

Or mabe the Neo-Hawks will appear when everything almost seems lost and wipe the Kushan-attack out. What better place to pull a big promotion-gig than a town full of nobleman of the different countries of the holy sea?
And if griffith really shows up, I think Guts will think twice about his quick leave.
Well.... but thats very far stretched speculation.

Yeah, not only that, but their goal isn't to save the city, they're supposed to be going to Elfhelm... Considering Sonja's prediction about the town being destroyed, I doubt Guts & co to stay in Vritannis too long.

I think it will be rather difficult to leave the town once it is in turmoil. And I can hardly see Guts leaving the momentary "stage"(Griff said), before the battle reaches its climax. Now that we have the Vandimion-family involved I doubt that the "Guts-gumi" just will take Farnese and leave as fast as they can.
But otherwise Miura has surprised me countless times, so lets just see what happens.

and btw. thanks for the scans!

I wonder what picture of the town Serpico will get to see on his way to the boat where the spellcasters are hiding. Maybe the attack started all over at once... or maybe the primary target was just the ball by now and the main offense will take a few more episodes to start.

considering that this town is full of troops of the holy sea, i guess Guts won't be the only one who fights back the Kushans...

the berserk-armor has only been used twice until now and its attributes are far away from being totally explored...
so I guess it's a bit early to think about another equipment-upgrade.

Guts was surprised because he didn't know that Serpico was more than a better-than-average fighter with good speed, he underestimated him. He was also in a hurry on the cliff, but still got Serpico out of his way relatively easily.
Guts has shown tactical abilities in all of his fights against apostles or almost, he really wouldn't have any reason to be envious of Serpico on that matter. So yeah, he was surprised once because he didn't expect him to be a clever and tricky opponent, but that's it. Now Serpico even has some pyschological pressure playing against him.

Well, I know that Guts is an allrounder and not just a blunt slugger.
But for example when Serpico took one of Guts' throwing bombs at the fight on the cliff... I've never seen Guts revaluate a situation this quick.
Or maybe it was just my stereotypical thinking that Serpico should have more savvy for he is the gaunt and silent type of guy.

Well, it was rather clear to begin with that Serpico would somehow lose this duel... but I expected at least that he could apply a bit more danger to Guts.

In their former duels Guts was at least surprised by Serpicos tactics, but now he seems to read all of them. I liked the Idea that Serpico is at least a better tactician than Guts, but our Berserk-buddy now seems to be the ultimate asskicker in all areas.
Poor Serpico... he is totally outmatched. If the duel ends this clear, I'm a bit disappointed.

The more I see Serpico fight, the more I want him to duel with Silat. *sigh*

Not much room for getting into the charakters without the text.
Well, judging by the pictures that take place in Serpicos mind, he is going through a very serious development during the fight. Guts himself seems rather tranquil for a life-or-death-duel with a former fellow.
I wonder what action Schierke ignites on page 16... or maybe she is just receiving Serpicos thoughts.

Perhaps near the very end of the episode they would stop for one reason or another, or not.
that's one hell of a prediction, dude  ;D

well, not much to conclude from the preview-pic, as ever.
seems like the fog is already entering the fighting-place... our two duelists have to hurry up if they want to find a victor before the monster-attack starts.

He already forgot to kill him once.

that was just for the blink of an eye. I doubt that Guts could just leave if Griffith entered the scene.
The armour would most probably do its part.
