Images of Guts and his assault on her are likely going to be present in Casca's dreams, as are the Eclipse and her rape at Femto's hands. In her current state, she probably can't even differentiate between the two. And if that's the case, then Schierke and Farnese, the two people who arguably have the most respect and admiration for Guts, may see him perform his most depraved act yet, which so far, only he and Casca know about. As if the process of curing Casca won't be painful enough. :judo:

Great examples, and I do see what's being said here. But I don't think the Beast will actually be revealed at all in Casca's dreams, unless it somehow manifests because of Schierke's previous dealings with :beast:. Since this will be in Casca's deep suppressed thoughts and memories, I feel the main focal point of her thoughts will be of the Eclipse, since this event was the direct cause of her mental condition now.

Casca has always shown to be afraid of Guts immediately after he wakes up from the Eclipse. I don't know if it's been fully explained as to why she showed this much animosity towards him from the start, even before his consumed hatred took control of him to take aggression/frustration out on her.

It might show Guts as an evil dark shadow (maybe beast-like creature) attacking her, but I believe with Schierke's previous experience with Guts' uncontrollable frenzies, and her knowledge of who Guts actually is, she should be able to comprehend and understand how the Eclipse permanently ended up scarring both Casca and Guts' psychological state of mind. As for Farnese, I don't know how well she will handle what she sees.

It will be a traumatic experience for both Schierke and Farnese, but not enough I think to lose any respect for Guts. They might just end up despising Griffith as much as Guts. They will understand why Guts has been so inclusive towards his past.

Regarding the ominous last page, it's obvious what it represents, but I wonder if the rift in the clouds is meant to convey the Beast of Darkness?

Yes, most definitely a combo of the eclipse and BoD.

You're looking into the last page too much. It's in no way the Beast of Darkness, since it only relates to Guts himself. The Beast of Darkness is used to symbolize Guts' revenge, deepest sorrows, and the immense hatred.

It has no purpose in Casca's dream whatsoever.

This new (Sept. 21st, 2016) Berserk fan animation is rather amusing and hilarious :ganishka:

Welcome to BERSERK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkS4DXxjciw

I somehow feel this is supposed to be a play on Berserk 2016.

Thanks for these pictures! :badbone: :isidro:

Love seeing those tigers. Didn't expect to see them at all.

According to it, it seems to be possible to team up with your best "ally" (or enemy) in order to slay thousands of enemies.

I hope the stages have an infinite amount of time, but the enemies become exponentially harder as your kill count increases and your rewards are of higher quality until you end up dying.

Keep in mind all Musou games have a Free Mode where you can swap characters in different scenarios, it could also be that.

Playing as Femto is ridiculous in the good way.  :femto: Silly sure, but sounds fun.

Well we already know Guts and Zodd make the perfect team. Maybe Guts and Femto can put their differences aside to kill the army of trolls threatening local villages  :ganishka:

Berserk Anime / Re: 2016 Berserk TV series: Episode 12
« on: September 20, 2016, 08:04:00 PM »
By the third episode this had plummeted through the realms of bad adaption and just became bad story. Was there anything this show got right? The pacing was atrocious, the character's butchered and every single scene was dulled by completely soulless animation.

I'd say what made me somewhat happy was Isidro and Puck's screen time together. Their voice actors did a great job and together they made a great pair to get a laugh or smile out of me.

But yes, other than that it was a rather disappointing journey.

I don't mind this upcoming hiatus. He's given so much these past few months that have exceeded what I thought would happen during this period in time. He was very straight to the point.

I'm happy enough that 347 is coming and could reveal game-changing information for us. This hiatus will give us plenty of time to discuss and theorize, until which I'm sure will be even more amazing plot changing episodes to come soon after.

Berserk 2017 better do well to fill in my Berserk gap. I haven't lost too much hope in it yet. Plus the musou game will be out that time too :guts:

Vinland Saga is not dark fantasy, its historical fiction
I'll have to take back what I said and agree with you on that one. I suppose just Claymore and Attack on Titan (slightly) would fit the dark fantasy genre out of the ones listed. :farnese:

the western market is much more saturated when it comes to fantasy in general.
I guess my main point is just because the West has a larger audience in the fantasy scene and a higher budget towards their films, doesn't mean it would do a Japanese anime/manga franchise justice (Dragonball Evolution).

Japan already has the right tools they need and have a strong potential for a proper Berserk anime. Unfortunately their execution and planning need more direction that can keep the fan base happy, while also accomplishing fluid animations, story, and music that doesn't seem to jump from scene-to-scene, leaving most people confused and asking themselves, "What were they trying to do here?"

Dark Fantasy is hardly a Japanese genre.

Attack on Titan, Hellsing, Claymore, Vinland Saga. These are just the most well known, but there are plenty of others.

America should honestly work on their own shows and not worry about Berserk, especially a live action adaptation :magni:

Let's not forget about Dragonball Evolution.

An American adaptation would frankly be of higher interest to me than another Japanese one.

Why would an American made Berserk adaptation be of higher interest to you?

A disappointing finale from a disappointing anime adaption. What a crazy roller coaster this season put me through. With everything they did in season 1, I hope for season 2 they learned that there were some large issues in the direction and execution from this season. I'm not expecting much from the next season. If there is anything I'm looking forward to, is seeing the Qliphoth, the relationship growth between the characters in Guts' party, and Guts donning the Berserker armor. Keeping my fingers crossed for better animation and episode storyboards!

But for now...

From another standpoint I have a skull knight wallet that I bought from amazon which has been very good in terms of durability and my tattoo sleeve.  I would love a hat sometime but the selection I find for the most part is always unofficial and sub par to say the least.

Holy crap a Skull Knight Wallet??? I want one :carcus:

Nice! You have a berserk sleeve tattoo? What specifically do you have on it? I personally have the Guts brand on my neck, and have been considering starting more Berserk tattoos on my arms. The problem is finding a talented enough artist that can trace and shade Miura's art at a reasonable price $$$ :magni:

I have to say, these cut-scenes look unbelievable. As in beautiful :judo:. After witnessing Berserk 2016, my eyes are overwhelmed with joy.

I'm anticipating this game even more. February can't come any sooner.

"The Dragon Killer"

Hopefully we don't see it translated to "The Killer of Dragons" in the English release

You might also be interested in the podcasts we recorded around that time, where we reviewed each issue as they came out. It's Eps 38-44.

Thanks! I'll have to check them out

And yes it was nicer reading it all in one sitting. Easier to comprehend what was actually going on and flowed a lot smoother. The "nectar" thing still gets me though :isidro:

You can buy a used, good quality copy of Volume 1 on Amazon for ~$8.00 ($4.00 originally + 3-4 dollars extra for shipment). Can't go wrong with that :guts:

Berserk Miscellaneous / Re: Berserk Musou (PS3, PS4, PC)

The Beast of Darkness is an allegory to begin with. It represents Guts' dark feelings (anger, guilt, fear, sorrow, etc.)

I understood for a while that it's all psychological and the Beast isn't anything physical. I've just heard so many people call the Beast of Darkness a wolf or hound I started to say it myself.

Thanks Aaz for the explanation & correction.

That never made any sense though. Guts doesn't howl like a wolf when he transforms. As a matter of fact, the Beast of Darkness isn't a wolf.
I guess they were just using the wolf sound as metaphor for Guts' wild nature when he goes berserk.

Is the correct term for the Beast of Darkness a hound rather than wolf? Or is it just defined as a wild beast.

My man cave is located in our apartment spare room. Not very impressive, but it's a nice room to go to in order to relax :badbone: My J-PS2 is hooked up now, with my other current consoles out of view. It has a built in shelving unit inside the walls, perfect for DVD storage and for my novels/mangas.

Nice. I like his movement and how it shows Guts hopping around at sonic speed. His special attack though I feel they tried to go over the top, but made it look pretty ridiculous. Can't really recall an instance where Guts abandoned his sword to take out his enemies by hand :???:

The beserker growls are also totally different to how I imagined it.

I believe they added more of an actual wolf howl in the J-PS2 game, which I really liked. This one though feels more right how they have his voice, combined with a dull ambient roar. I hear slight barking as well :beast:

They've really captured the feel of the character and it looks like it'll be excellent gameplay, and that's what counts.

Couldn't agree with you more
