Oh yeah definitely, the art direction isn't for everyone. For me I do like the Disney like visual with the bright color palette. It's better than a lot of other FPS games which are dark and grim.

Yeah I can agree with that.

I have been going hard in DS3 . I'm on my third build. First was a guts build  :guts: great sword strength, followed by a dex build, now I am doing a pure int, faith build. In this build I am trying to play out all the NPC quest lines. Its a pain in the ass but its been a lot of fun. I found some really cool secrets and items that took me three play troughs to find and I am still finding new things. Irithyll of the boreal valley is still the most beautiful souls area in my opinion. When you see that moon and the snow fall it was like the first time seeing Anor lando in DS1.

It's pretty interesting, it's similar to Team Fortress 2 but it acts more of a twitchy shooter. It's highly team dependent so you actually need a good team composition along with a fairly decent team in order to win. I can't tell you how many games I lost because people just refused to switch roles or they just trickle in one by one to get picked off. The game is extremely team dependent, so if you use to other FPS games then this is a whole new ballpark.

If you like shooters like Team Fortress then you'll really enjoy the team based combat on this. If not, then steer clear from it. :isidro:

The team aspect was one part I really enjoyed. My big turn off came from the art direction. I not a huge fan of the overly cartoony graphic style, but once I got over that it was fun. I definitely would recommend picking it up or borrowing a friends and giving it a "shot" ha zing... :carcus:

Has anyone tried Overwatch yet? the beta is open on ps4 until May 9th. If so what do you think? Maybe I am off a little but the PVP reminds me of destiny, as far as like supers/abilities and what have you. I like it. Its interesting to see blizzard take a swing at an FPS. I would put a little more time in if I could peel myself from Dark souls for more then an hour  :ganishka:

Loving the game so far. It definitely has the feeling of the first Dark Souls, and I'm glad for that.

I'm far into the game and I've yet to use a shield once (thanks, Bloodborne). Anyone else playing it like that?

BTW if anyone's playing this on PS4, feel free to add me (Lawliet567).

I will add you. I playing a guts build right now so no shield for me too!

I added you awhile ago. We should meet up in game! I've been slogging along, so I'm not very far. I always play these games extra cautiously on the first run. Not to mention I'm splitting my time up between Paragon, the Doom beta, and family life. But that game has been fantastic so far!

Yeah we definitely will meet up on line. what's your psn again, Just so I know what to look for. but id love to link up! how is paragon? I have seen a lot about it but don't know much.

I watched Turbo kid this weekend. I loved it! the soundtrack was really good. The film had the right amount of camp and cheese. Michael Ironside  was really good as the main Villon. Apple is too cute. It was just a fun film. I highly recommend it. Especially to the 80's dreamers of the world :)

Anime Asylum / Re: New Berserk Anime for 2016
« on: March 28, 2016, 02:12:14 PM »
Contrary to your belief, I think this is a sensitive issue to a lot of fans (especially old ones). In this regard, I think having an insert song from Susumu Hirasawa is a good sign. As for the rest of the OST, we'll have to see, but I believe the responsability for the movies' terrible soundtracks lied more with the director than the composer. The choice of what track to use in what scene was often extremely perplexing to say the least.

Aaz I always appreciate your insight.  The OST has a very special place in my heart. All we can all do is wait and see, or wait and listen, LOL

I know this doesn't matter to most, but the sound track to the original Anima was absolutely the best part of the anime, in my opinion. I really hope they don't at least mess that up in this new series. Just a thought I had.

Well if you guys end up picking it up, add me. My online handle for sf is GIANTSWORDMUFASA. I am always down to help people get into fighters.
Played 3/4 matches a few weeks ago and it was decent. There was a character I liked whose hair turned alive in a different mode and he had Blanka's moves.
His name is nacalli and hes a scum bag lol. Jk hes prob top 5 on the tier list right now if I were to make one.
I'm pretty interested in getting into the game. I've never been very good at fighters, but I really like to play them. But with Dark Souls 3 on the horizon I'm not sure if it's a great idea. I may wait for Capcom to work out some of the (apparently) kinks, such as no arcade mode, before I jump on board.
I agree once DS# comes out my life is over. lol

Thanks for that. To me, the way you put it sounds a lot more rewarding of an experience to have had than a casual or the run of the mill horror movie. IT Follows is great too because as much as it's newly made, it's very retro in both soundtrack and plot (back in the day things used to be a lot simpler like the plot in this one). I loved it and re-watched with my brother (who hadn't seen it) just last month.

Man the sound track is so good. I bought it as soon as I left the theater! lol

Bone Tomahawk - I know I mentioned it briefly in another topic but I felt like it needed a mention out here. It's hard to call it pure horror because there's a lot of drama through the film leading up to it's horrific closure. This's out on BR/ DVD, recommend picking it up. Patrick Wilson's character break his leg while fixing the roof and is stuck in bed for it. On the side, there’s a drifter who get shot in the leg by the local sheriff (Kurt Russell) and is put in prison for the night. The wife’s called into service that night but what nobody knows is that the drifter has a bigger target on his head for disturbing a burial ground sacred to a bunch of caveman. That night not only does he go missing from the jail but the doctor + deputy go missing too. Patrick Wilson and his bum leg along with Kurt the sheriff, Richard Jenkins the assistant deputy (who’s unrecognizable and faaking awesome in his role) and a seasoned hunter (Matthew Fox) follow the trail to rescue the kidnapped. The cinematography, writing/dialogue, acting, action - everything's just damn good quality. Be prepared for graphic scenes. Cannot recommend this film highly enough.

Ditto this movie was amazing! I highly recommend IT Follows and The witch I truly enjoyed the witch . I told my wife while leaving the theater, most people will leave this theater tonight and say "that movie sucked" because it is being marketed as a horror film. A lot comes with that title. People expect horror in the conventional sense. This movie stands in a league of its own. The fear in this film I think is in the unknown of a new world, in the fear of everything you believe in being a lie. The horror that anything is possible... I feel this director had a vision and he felt he didn't need to spoon feed it to viewers.

Is anyone interested in getting Street Fighter V when it drops? Being a long time FG player and tournament street fighter player I plan on going hard, because lord knows I cant wait to never play SF4 again! If anyone is new to FG's and picks it up we can learn the new game together. Or to any FG veterans I say "come get some!!!"  :guts: I got to play the beta a lot and I like what I have seen/played so far.

My favorite thing about berserk is the tragic love story of guts and casca. Being some what of a hopeless romantic myself their story really pulls at my heart strings.    :guts: :casca:<3
