I'm not completely against it--Windwaker is a fantastic game (for the most part...)

Though they did address that, saying they would "tune up the game experience." Which most people are taking as "we are adding the 2 dungeons we took out." Then again I'm assuming your "for the most part" was aimed at the sluggish end of WW.

Dragon Quest Swords for Wii! To the average person, I'm sure this game sucks but it tickles the inner-DQ fanboy in me. Favorite RPG series - period.

I wonder if they are passing out Beherit's at Falconia's entrance, Hawaii style. At first, I was considering that humans might feel threatened and paranoid, causing a influx of Beherit use. But I'm starting to think that seeing the Apostles prowess, then they might actually might want to transform in order to better serve Griffith. Though...that makes me wonder now, do people even need Beherits anymore? Aren't the God Hand part of this plane of existence now?

Dragon Quest IX, i lost 600 hours to that game. Most people would think that because it was on a handheld, then it would be less immersive, but i had it had the opposite experience. Every possible moment i had, i noticed i would flip open the DS (yay DSlite battery life) .The graphics were blocky sure, but they designed the characters/monsters well enough that it wasn't bothersome. Thinking back now i don't even know how they crammed so much into a DS cart. Like always it had cute little vignettes, a wonderful score, and dumb looking monsters (which appeals to my dumbness). Adding random generated dungeon maps for the post game is probably why i played it so much. Not mention it had DLC every week for a year : D This might not be Japan, so i couldn't really enjoy the "social" aspects of it (street pass before street pass), but I was still enjoying the main game solo, and playing local multiplayer to take down a particularly tough boss. All in all, it's a must play if you own a DS and can get into a game that doesn't take itself too seriously.

Honorable Mentions:
Dark souls
Portal 2

I may be crazy, but I thought the story/world of the first game was utterly dark and depressing.

It's that damn Firelink Shrine song! makes me wanna give up before i even start up a play session.

I took out Ornstein first, since he was easiest to draw away from Smough. After that, just whittled Smough away over time.

I was too impatient to draw Ornstein away from Smough, so i just used "Power Within" (Berserk Armor effect) and rushed Smough. What a mistake that would turn out to be, Mega Ornstein was one scary dude. I would run for minutes at a time without attacking trying to find that spot that wouldn't get me instantly killed. It indeed was a great fight, all 30 tries of them  :judo:

Ornstein & Smough -- beat them on my very first attempt. My heart is still pounding. What a fight!  :mozgus:

oh wow, thats pretty damn amazing! Congrats. Who did you take out last?

From a pure visual perspective, if they can come through with the pastel inspiration for SS, then color me excited. Yes, SS was boring and tedious (navi was annoying?! FI please :schierke:) so I am skeptical....there are no buts, i am very skeptical.

That's contrary to what was said earlier, that they'd do The Black Swordsman next. Unless... they're tying those two arcs together?

well of course  :schierke: 1 movie, 30 minutes for each arc, duh!

Sweet! I'm going to preorder it at Kinokuniya ASAP.

how do you pre-order at Kinokuniya?

It is very Monster Hunter. I enjoyed DQIX quite a bit though, although i would want to have characters in my party, not voiceless robots.

UPDATE: The game has launched in Japan. So I updated the first post with the first 4 hours of the game (2 and half of the single player and 1 and half of the MMO part)

A complement? As in the terrible movie really brings out the sheer beauty that is the manga.

I dont see how it's supplemental, that implies that manga is incomplete without it. And from the impressions here, the movie has done nothing but tarnish Berserk

Anytime I read about Berserk at another site, there will undoubtedly be this comment

"maybe he would finish faster if he put IdolMasters down. LULZ!!!"

What did Miura actually say about that game?

Even if I'm the only person that cares about this game.. its still awesome 3DS news!

I care to a certain extent, as the last few DQM games were fairly mediocre. What I really want is Rocket Slime and DQX, even though I'm still concerned with DQX's combat :/

Isn't that easily explained by David when he says "it's not the only ship" so that scene could have a happened on an unseen ship

I dont know why but 3 wont let you directly controll all of the pcs in battle i get frustraited not being able to.

Just lost 2 hours of progress because one of my team members refused to use the skill the enemy was weak against... I dunno if I'll pick it up again.

I should've picked up Fez instead of FES, anyone here playing Fez?

What do you guys think about spoilers when it comes to Berserk? In effort to get us the episodes as early as possible, it's unavoidable, you guys will see blurry images of events out of sequence and without translation. So what's the worst thing you've spoiled yourself or someone else spoiled for you in Berserk? Do you guys regret having to transcribe the Japanese text?

I think he means gameplaywise? As in P4 improved a lot of P3's gameplay, so it makes it harder to play P3. The stories are extremely different in setting and mood.

The use of stole threw me off. I probably will still play it in preparation for P4: Arena. I don't know a 3rd of the roster. Really don't know why it's called Persona 4: Arena

Started playing Persona 3 for the first time. Its not to bad but  4 stole so much from 3 it makes me sad  :judo:

I was about to buy P3 as well. Being that i played P4 first, I do wonder if i would find P3 mechanically inferior. Though I don't understand how you would find that a sequel to game iterating on its predecessor sad? Is the story too similar?

Maybe my second attempt for a meet up in SF will be more successful. There was a 1up DQ meet-up that I missed out on.Funny thing happened though, I was watching TV the very hour I was suppose to leave LA, totally bummed and just trying to forget. When I saw Jeremy Parish (1up's EIC, who was organizing the meet up) on TV, in an iPhone he was testing, as part of a news B-roll. Apparently there had been a Mac event the night prior of the meet up, it was one hell of a coincidence.

I don't see the troll. I'm quite glad theat they aren't changing the ending in dramatic way. Bioware made it clear that they would support ME3 with additional content, and maybe this is where it blew up in their face. Because they knew there would be content that elaborates on the event of the ending in the works, then the blunt ending doesnt seem that jarring. But they have the benefit of knowing what it is and when it's coming. While the players were left wondering.

I can see these new scenes addressing the actions that lead to Joker escaping with your squad mates. Maybe even show a sinister smile from the Catalyst. At least at that point they make it clear that there's more stuff on the way, by making it obviously open ended...... This might be wishful thinking on my part though.
