Video Games / Re: Mass Effect 3 [Spoilers]
« on: April 03, 2012, 07:42:09 PM »
I just finished ME3 mere hours before i listened to the podcast, and the only reason I couldn't choose the "destroy" option was because I felt bad for the Geth and EDI. They both reach a new stage in their existence and I have to destroy them? Why couldn't the Reapers be the only ones that were destroyed   It seemed a bit arbitrary that all synthetic life must be destroyed. Many of the complaints I've heard really do bother me, Joker booking it for some reason, (how did you get on the ship Liara? You were next to me when Harbinger Blasted me.) all the galaxy's armed forces are stranded in our solar system, did the relay's have to be destroyed.

I'm also a bit confused as to what the crucible even did. The Catalyst mentions the Crucible changed it, so did the past civilizations figure out what the catalyst was and developed a machine that can alter this creator, and the consensus was that synthesis is the only option? Suffice to say the ending left me with a lot of questions

random guy at school talking to his friend: Do you care at all of the spoilers for ME3?
His friend: I don't care about the series at all
*I immedietly walk away, but I could still faintly hear*
Random guy: *spoils the end*

I don't really have recommendation for music to listen to Berserk. But I read Akira to the Portal 2 soundtrack a year ago, it was amazing  :judo:

I was just talking about how ridicoulous it seemed that I'm running around to tell a Krogan whether the Persidium had fish in its lake. Of course it sorta payed off when all my shipmates died besides Dr. Chakwas, I felt real dumb then. I wanted a female Shapard character, cause I heard that she delivers lines in a more believable fashion, which I find to be true.

Great podcast once again. I eagerly await the next one.

I don't actually think SK has any special foresight ability. I always took the line of fighting with a broken sword as reference to those who continue to struggle against all odds, maybe he knew Guts well enough to know that he would do just that. I do think that SK has been following Guts for a long time. Maybe even when he was born. I've always wondered wether Guts' place of birth was just typical raid cruelty, or if perhaps it was related to an occultation ceremony. I'm well aware that SK isn't gonna bother to visit every apostle being born, but I do wonder about that tree. It was a was very ominous. :magni:

Actually is the term occultation only reserved for the birth of a God Hand member?

I took out the fat one first to get the other guy's armor during my first run. Now, I want the fat guys armor. :)

So then it should be easier the second time around. The issue is landing a hit and that swift little bugger. During my first play through I took him down with a +1 lightning spear (I dunno why I didn't upgrade it) , it was a slow and go processes. But because you can attack with a spear and maintain you shield up, (I used the heavy wooden shield to help against the lightning attacks) then it was a very safe strategy.

Any recent news on the rumored DLC? I picked up the game again to once again try and beat Ornstein and Smough on NG+. I just can't do it solo. I've tried and tried. Help?

Which of the 2 are you trying to take out first? I find taking out Ornstein first the easier route to take

At least that makes sense, unlike Griffith slurping down on soda. There's no way he could drink soda and keep that figure  :schierke:

:slan: 8-4 Play was definitely one of the bigger inspirations for the creation of this podcast. I admire Mark McDonald for keeping such a good pace and reign over his podcast. Don't really like anyone else on his show though. That JJ... ugh!  :ganishka:

I expect nicknames for the cast next week   :guts:

Mark has been doing podcast for many many years now, so he is someone to aspire to. I gotta say, you guys were able to talk for almost 2 hours, and it was never boring and there was hardly any dead air and this is barely your third podcast?! You guys are doing a great job :ubik:

Actually, Miura thanked the director a lot and Chica Umino said he was wearing a mysterious smile after watching the movie and he seemed as he was proud of what he created

He just thought the movie was a joke that Chica Umino orchestrated  :troll:

Well, they were this prevalent before, we just didn't see them all.

Yeah you're right, it's not like a bunch of them were born at the Occultation or there after.

Puck doesn't see any images of Guts' memories right? he just feels what Guts is remembering

The few apostles that were shown early on in the series, were trying to hide the fact that they were apostles. They also weren't as prevalent as they are now or even after the eclipse.

all i can say is... the costume looks cool.

I agree with Walter they have run their course. Since there have been so many super hero origin movies, the whole cops issuing the arrest for such and such vigilante is just annoying now. Though i doubt these movies will taking a break any time soon, no sooner than the release of countless super hero comics

My heart skipped a beat when I saw the the title of this thread. I think the amount of discussion that we are able to have in this forum even when there are long breaks, is proof enough that an podcast would be informative and entertaining. So I'm all for it.

Good luck, have Batman

It looks an awful lot like the ruins of Gaeseric's capital with the Eclipse landscape in the background.  The characters look like they were inserted with a bad photoshop job, but it is on the official page.  Perhaps this is the look those environments will have.

I does look terrible. Also on that page of official merchandise is a shirt with the text "The Crimson Beherit" so... *edit* forgot about the auto correct, it said Beherit with an "L"

That broach looks pretty cool

Been reading a lot of comments on the story of the early access demo for RE:6 and most people seem pretty down on the game. Even if most people probably haven't gone out of their way to see in-game footage. Still i thought the trailer showed some decent footage. Nothing that would make me say AMAZING! but not "utter shit" either as most people have been saying.

Also, once Guts is back on his feet, he's still blind and needs guidance from Schierke in order to strike at the heart.
Last words from Schierke, "Guts is in grave danger."

unless  :beast: decides to be his seeing eye dog, then Guts is gonna need some rescuing.

EDIT: I thought this originally took place pre-MGS4. But now I heard it's post-MGS4. Anyone know for sure? If it's pre, I could MAYBE rethink a few things. If it's post....IT'S A SHAM!!!!!!!!!!

EDIT 2: "We've only said that the period setting is several years after MGS4. Metal Gear Rising is not part of the Metal Gear Solid series. At present, we can't say more than this."
Hideo Kojima on Twitter

Yeah I think at first it was gonna tell the tale of what Raiden had done to get Sunny... I think, it's been a while. I've never been that cofident that Kojima knows what he wants to do with the story so at I don't really care. In fact I'm more willing to entertain the idea of Raiden throwing Metal Gear's than another convoluted story. Though two of my favorite games of all time are Ninja Gaiden and Bayonetta so that's why I'm marginaly excited, though personally I'd prefer if there was a Bayonetta sequel.

Metal Gear Rising!

Oh, wait. No. Nevermind.  :judo:

What's wrong with Metal Gear Rising? I didn't care for the game and then Plantinum announced they were developing it, so I'm excited
