Looks pretty cool. I may finally have a reason to go back and do my paladin playthrough, or maybe even moonlight greatsword.

Incredible! I almost feel just an overwhelmed as our heroes! So many new creatures. The comedy in this episode was top notch. I loved the panel with the elf prying Serpico's eye open to get a better look! :serpico: And Puck as the king is rather hysterical. I must admit feeling slightly let down after years of imagining a king on the throne, BUT that reveal...Good god, it got me a little bit I have to admit (This is happening! It's really happening!). The [Ruler] of the Flower Storm is every bit as impressive as one could expect. What an absolutely stunning splash page! And the more I think about it, the more I appreciate having my expectations subverted. It really is just a fantastic surprise after all these years.

Anyway, in this moment I have a special thought for Dark Horse's translator and his exceptionally stupid decision to create the mistranslated monstrosity that is "Hanabufuku King". Have fun explaining to the readers that it's really "Queen of the Flower Storm".

Much like "hawk" I'm sure they'll just ignore their mistake. "'Hanabufuku King' is what we call all of our monarchs!" :schnoz:

That shot of Danan is really exciting. It's so great to see so many elves! "The promised time has come"

Your explanation is incorrect, or at least confusing. This is merely a joke made by Puck in passing, it's not meant to be an actual description of what Isidro is. It is not a "Japanese version" of Isidro's name, just a pun on it, and there's no deeper meaning to it beyond the pun.

Apologies. That's what I was trying to get at, but I didn't articulate it well.

Found the reference in the Manga, but honestly the version I read I could see how it might have gone unnoticed. Puck says "ahhh so Ishidori!?" "A Robber... Who Throws...Stones?" Still not sure where the meaning comes from so if someone knows more about it I would love to know. Couldn't find much in my search through the archives although I will admit searching by name and meaning brings up extensive unrelated results so forgive me if it's already been discussed in another thread.

It's just the Japanese. "Ishi" (石) means rock and "dorobo" (泥棒) means thief. Drop the "bo" and you have Isidro (spelled out in katakana: イシドロ), which is the Japanese version (not sure if there's a better way to say this) of Isidro's name. From what I understand, it's common in Japanese to make puns out of words/phrases that have multiple meaning or uses. In this case Isidro is both his name, and a description of what he is.

Edit: Of course I somehow missed the much more concise response by Earthlingzing.

Are you playing on PS4 or PC? I haven't started it yet because I didn't want all the bugs to tarnish the experience...

I'm on PS4. Still some glitches and issues, but nothing like what is happening to PC (from what I gather).

Been playing No Man's Sky and having a really fun time. Unfortunately, I see how this might become monotonous fast. I wish there was a bit more RPG to it. The game seems like it would be an amazing compliment to another facet of a game (thinking Mass Effect's story, with No Man Sky's exploration), but that might be way too much going on.

At any rate I bought a new (giant) ship and am content with my $60 purchase for now (despite all the harsh criticisms the internet has been dishing out).

I actually would have appreciated Sword Wind. I am, however, surprised they didn't just lazily rehash their naming scheme and call it Berserk Warriors or Dynasty Warriors: Berserk.

God, what a shit name. I assume it's because most people are only familiar with the Golden Age. I mean, I guess it's true that the Band of the Falcon exists for most of the story between the two iterations, but there's also a chunk where it doesn't (wonder if Lost Children will get the axe here too...).

That description mentions playable apostles -- plural.  :daiba:

Gimme me the mighty five! :beast:

How often did the baby actually protect :casca: in the manga?

Quite a few times. He comes to Casca's rescue several times during the Conviction arc. The ones I can think of: by the stream, at the pagan orgy, and again from Mozgus' fire.

Furthermore, it skips the significance of living in the interstice, and the ability to slightly change events during junctions of time, and of course the analogy of the moon's light reflected on the surface of water.

Oh fuck, you're right. I tend to confuse what all is said between this meeting and the conversation on the beach. Wow, the fish analogy is one of my favorite concepts from the series. This completely changes my already tepid opinion on the anime's version.

I live in Canada... so do you guys think I could buy the CD, and if so could I even play it in Canada? Is there a region block or some stuff like that? Sorry if it's a stupid question. Also oc I dont speak Japanese...

CDJapan will be more user friendly (i.e. in English), and their shipping isn't too terrible from what I can tell.

I think it will be/might be a cool/neat idea if we have the chance to experience a travel through the World Spiral Tree's branches with the Sea Horse floating/flying through it imbued by magic (ofc.). Maybe a little bit too far off for a fantasy and it goes into the sci-fi direction, but in terms of visual presentation it can potentially create amazing vistas (a lonely ship gracefully drifting into the night sky, while full moon illuminates the crew on the deck and thousand little stars glitter distorted by the luminescent matter of the tree's essence).

Reminds me of Peter Pan, The Silmarillion, and Final Fantasy IV, actually.

Seems this anime has finally found it's footing. I enjoyed this episode about as much as the last one. Mozgus in the torture scene was laughable though. He's much creepier in the manga. I don't know if it's the animation quality (probably) but that scene came off as goofy to me. Surprised they included the Beherit Apostle's eyes at the beginning of the refugee camp, and I was happy to see Silat and the Tapasa.

Since they excluded Conrad in Windham, I wonder if they'll show Slan at the pagan orgy in the next episode?

Also, did anyone notice that in the scenes depicting Casca in the Eclipse, that she has a tentacle jammed in her mouth? Seriously, that was just fucking excessive and unnecessary.

I didn't, but it's not without warrant

It seems the merging of the worlds has happened before, Gaeserics conquest wasn't as cut and dried as it looked, he may have followed a similar route to Griffith, with Void as his accomplice in world domination  :void:

Or the layers were one and have since been separated.

Thanks so much, Aaz and Puella! This episode has me so excited.

Isidro is killing me! He has no idea how close he is :ganishka:

They go on to explain that those trees are symbolic representations that exist in different worlds, and that their role is to prevent the world tree's branches to extend to the real world. They do this by absorbing the world tree's power. And by protecting the land, they prevent the balance of the real world and astral world from tipping. They think it's their duty. They tell her that her teacher was also one of those magicians.

Am I understanding this correctly? The forest of spiritual trees aren't actually trees, it's just a phrase that describes the various seals that syphon the World Spiral Tree's power, and these seals are related to the land (the area around and including the tree house mansion?). So the apostles weren't just after Flora, but her "tree" as well (which was assumed based on the info from the previous episode).

Looks like a lot of discussion. I feel like this is going to be a really great episode! Beherits, World Spiral Tree, Falconia. I love Guts' comment on Griffith's ambition.
