Hmmmm I dont believe a brain or heart will appear because that would seem strange even in this world gone crazy. If its a heart of brain or something I wonder what Miura would do with it. Just terrify the people with it? I just dunno...............what it would do??

The last few pictures in the EPISODE do look like something organic, like physiological, like people have posted here with pictures. I really want to know!!

I can understand your point so far as that as a fan I do of course hope that he's not lost interest, BUUUUT it's not something I dwell on because in my heart I know it's not the case. Do I have proof? no of course not but I think that after 20+ years that he's been drawing Guts he would have quit by now had he not had the heart to finish it. And really the gradual incline in the story arc in recent episodes hints only more so that he really does care about the series. Otherwise he'd be as you say rushing through it very quickly.

I wouldn't worry so much if I were you. He'll be back and the series will continue. Just keep your chin up and ponder all the great events that are about to unfold!!! :casca:

Im surprised Griffith didn't win!  Had I been here before I would have voted Serpico  :serpico: as my picture here probably gives away. I still think he has a long way to go in development and i look forward to every bit we get!!

Im not sure if anyone here cares or not but one of my favorite animes as a teenager, Evangelion is getting redone by the company that animated it with new story bits added too. Here's the trailer for the second "feature"

Some of the comments in the article are a little overboard. "This is widely considered the greatest piece of serialized anime and giant-robot science fiction for a very simple reason:  it is. "

I think its actually a load of nonsense for the most part, but it was a special part of my childhood so I cant deny its alwys going to have a piece of me with it...

Video Games / Re: Starcraft 2

So its a lot like Voltron right? I laughed at the Dr. Ron _VOLT_ part.  :ganishka:

I wonder if multiple units will have to _UNITE_ to become it   :isidro:

I think that would probably warrant a full purchase of all three games if that's the case... ...

Any firm release date on this yet because i hope diablo three and starcraft two arent in direct competition theyre' two of my favorite series.

I voted Grunbeld because I think he's very prideful as seen in the battle with Guts in volumes 26-27. Among them I think he's the most deserving of death right now  :azan:

But I know that's not really a good enough reason, so my real vote is because it seems to me that we have seen a lot of Grunbeld versus the other apostles who still have much to show. The others have many enigmas and mysteries around them, where we already know Grunbeld's past, apostle form, motivations, on and on... But someone like Locus and especailly Rakshas are still very mysterious to us...

Anyway, that's my vote.

My volume was delayed because it sold out in amazon's website. Can you believe that? It must be popular ... So, Im still reading the series as its published here in the states but im followed up with newer episodes.

I know there are others here that havent followed up with the new stuff but I have a question for those:

What do you think of the new development of Guts wearing the Berserker Armor? Do you think it is something he'll wear for the rest of the series given what we know as of volume 28? It seems a dangerous artifact and I wonder how long he'll be tied to it.

Anyway what are the new readers' thoughts?

Vagabond / Re: Matahachi: a man of the times
« on: April 02, 2009, 04:14:28 AM »
I agree with Bunnyet about the tactics Musashi (Mushi?) would value. To win is all its the same reason he had no problem attacking the Yoshioka by surprise and even in the novel had no trouble killing the small child who was to be Yoshioka's future. The child was brought to a battlefield. BUUUUUUT I think we all know that though he would accept a defeat at the hands of a lesser human being, it truly would be valued lower, especially by readers.

Ive gotten away in my thoughts but the point I try to make is (heres where you read)... all strategies are open when it's a battle at hand. But those who would employ base tactics were probably not skilled enough to pull them off with enough lethality to overcome someone as honed and perfected (?) as Musashi.

Wjhat's this to do with Muatahachi? I dont know but ill add a post here soon about him!!

Forgive my pessimism, but does anyone else feel like Miura might just be caring less about Berserk these days?
What exactly are you basing your pessimistic feeling on because no one's heard from Miura in a few months. :schnoz:

Maybe you have some kind of mental connection to the great creator that we aren't privy to? Please share it if so!  :ganishka:

I think he is most probably taking a long break because there's a lot of ground to cover in the future.

I know many people here follow Berserk very closely and many here must be bored after such a long break but keep in mind for the great creator its more than a hobby and actually it takes his whole life to bring to us. So do please let's cut the guy a break and stop it with these rumors and things!!!!

This is Just my thoughts... so no offense needed.

I didnt get the feather joke, but it seems like im the odd one out.  :schierke: I did like Gutsfield a lot so I wonder if Griffith (the member) will do anymore? Please do!!! You did a good work of blending two parodies of my most favorite comics Berserk and vagabond into three little images. And there are so many. Anyway i think you did good work Griffith and I like your sense of humour. Keep it up!!!

For an april fools then it wasnt very funny. Can the topic be locked forever?  :schierke:

Ahhhhhh square. How we all love to hate you!  :zodd:  I can think of few companies who have drawn both so much fire and praise from gamers. I think one thing remains clear after their continued success, regardless of the flak they take: they won't change.

My fave RPGs: Xenogears, Chrono Trigger, Breath of Fire 3, Diablo 2 if you can count it, FF6j, FF9.

Basically most things that came out in the late 1990s  :badbone:

Can someone change the title of this thread? The misplaced apostrophe in "play's" and "RPG's" is killin me, smalls!  :judo:

I didn't mean to sound mean. I just want to make the encyclopaedia perfect! The new addition is good.

Have you considered changing the name of it though? It's really more of a Berserk Guide. I like the approach the glossary takes by including everyone/thing into one giant list. That's more of an encyclopaedia.  The other sections like timeline are like addendums.

Character Cove / Re: Guts opening up finally?

Irresponsible? How so? Did Isidro tell the group about his past? Did Schierke? Did Serpico or Farnese? Did Puck, or even Ivalera?
I only meant it's irresponsible to be carrying around something like the beherit without informing his friends about it and its potential. It's an object that could and very likely will affect the group in the future.

As for the others, in their own brief way they've informed us of their past when it was brought in front of everyone. See Schierke and her background with Flora, or Farnese and her background with her family. Guts however ignored the opportunity to explain anything about his tragedy to Schierke even after she became intimate with his "soul." The most he's said was that he fought in the 100-years war.

I do understand his reluctance to say he was part of the Hawks or even go out of his way to take credit for having played such a crucial role in the war. However, as the thread title goes, I think it's time he, as a friend, opened up.

I think he'll tell them eventually, of course not a detailed, day-by-day account of his life, but a good overview, including the Hawks and the Eclipse.
Oh so do I. I'm not expecting a complete recounting. That'd be pretty cheesy for one. Also knowing the way Guts words things it'll probably all be within 2-3 speech bubbles  :serpico:

Character Cove / Guts opening up finally?
« on: March 17, 2007, 07:13:48 PM »
Since the eclipse Guts has closed his heart to almost everyone. He slowly began opening back up after his encounter in Godo's cave in volume 17. Over time, he's allowed others to share the burden of his journey and now he's gotten to the point of trust that he relies on them in combat. I think it's high time his "companions" are due an explanation of how Guts came to be in the position he's in now, who Griffith is to him, how Casca got this way, AND that he's carrying around a potentially catastrophic living creature: the Beherit!

Of course, the beherit activates itself, so it's not like Isidro will go pilfering through the bag one day looking for cheese and accidentally bleed on it  :isidro: (I actually thought that might happen, but a search proved me wrong. cool feature.) Still, it's a powerful object/creature that will surely play a huge role in the future. It would sure be awkward for it to activate itself before everyone knew what it was. (Guts: "OH yeah, that. Sorry guys this thing opens a gateway to the demon world in a time of someone's utmost desperation. Serpico, put it down. ok?").

I feel kind of redundant saying so, because others have said on the forum (mostly in recent episodes) that Guts could tell them about his past on their journey across the ocean. Still I don't think anyone's elaborated on why this has been irresponsible of Guts to not clue them in prior to now.

I'm caught up and WOW what to expect now? I think Griffith will have to have a discussion with the members of the Holy See Alliance. They'll make him the grand marshall of the army, or maybe even a pope  :serpico:

I wonder how far off the Ganishka showdown will be... I'd say it's in the near future but it could be a great distance away, both in TIME and SPACE.  :???:

Pull up the Causality entry, there are some additional entries it mentions that should help.
That Jumping Fish entry seems a little off to me. Slan doesn't say Skull Knight is "swimming" against Causality specifically.  She says "Even if a fish jumps
that cannot change the flow of the river..." "And that flow has begun. The Fifth Angel has been born, so... The Time of Darkness shall visit us."

I also think that entry is a little presumptuous to put in something called an Encyclopedia.

I know a whole lot better. I dropped 20 pounds in a month and an additional 10 the following month from cutting out all soda and candy [i would also eat a big breakfest but ate salads for lunch and dinner].
Hmm but cutting back on sodas would be taking away the only thing I have to live for these days!

This report doesn't seem too revolutionary. Eat good, organic, natural foods. Seems like common sense to me. It's not like people 1000 years ago were walking around obese hunting and gathering.

On a side note, how long were Native Americans allegedly in North America prior to them being "discovered" by Spanish settlers?

PS: cool forum.
