What are you listening to? (general music thread)

Deicide: In the Minds of Evil - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2h4do5Uf7io&list=PLzSc4zOKGsdqvp9YjFxPMi_FVFTAufEUU

Also very excited for the New Cannabis Corpse split, Splatterhash - http://www.cvltnation.com/exclusive-cvlt-nation-streaming-cannabis-corpse-shatter-bongs/

^ that new Deicide is pretty boring. They can never be as good as their old material.

Been listening to the Oblivion soundtrack on repeat. It's pretty under-rated.

Check out In Circles and Spine of the World. Sountrack is a good mix of electronic, jazz and blues. It's from the same guys who made Bastion.

New Perturbator track (awesome!) video's out - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGqeyQhBPMI

Pretty bummed I missed out on ordering the LP for the album (now sold out) but I grabbed the CD at least. Comes out on/ around June 17, can't wait. They've been consistently good with their music.

How much do you think making a video like this costs?

Good chill BOC style electronic music. Wish shipping the record didn't cost 20+ euros : /

EDIT:

Spending this long weekend at the office, listening to John Coltrane's Giant Steps on repeat to take my mind off work stress and the fact that I shouldn't be in the office in the first place! Naima is such a sublime track ...

I never get tired of this album

I've been listening to the new Julian Casablancas+The Voidz album, Tyranny. Easily on of the best albums of the year to me. The track Human Sadness stands out as one of the best from the album, it even begins with samples from Mozart's Requiem. :ubik:

It's currently up on stream here for american listerners (or use Hotspot Shield): http://www.rollingstone.com/music/premieres/julian-casablancas-and-the-voidz-tyranny-stream-20140919

I've been listening to a lot of David Lang's music over the past week, mostly because I'm presenting to my studio on him, but I've made some startling realizations about myself during my research and exploration of his music. I might be approaching a very pivotal moment in my education, and it's kind of scary (in a good way?)...

In case anyone is interested, this piece has been with me a lot the last few days: "Increase"

Aphex Twin recently released 155 unreleased tracks via their Twitter page :isidro: - https://twitter.com/AphexTwin/status/560863174040096769

Amazing stuff, especially chill tracks like 18 Mello Punchy, 14 Floating, hilo, blue carpet, (taut), D17. There's a lotta listening to be done.

^ gotcha, thanks for pointing it out.

Before hopping on Aphex Twin, I was listening to a lot of Trevor Something. Check em out if you like 80's nudisco/ synthwave kinda stuff.

80's synth/ dreamwave remix of Guts from the Berserk OST.

Yo that was so awesome! I have been listening to the berserk OTS on repeat for like last month and this is amazing.

I love ambient electro. The knife, Life formed, syntax. I listen to a lot of ambient instrumental rock stuff too. Explosions in the sky, this will destroy you. I feel so much can be said with out words, if a song is so moving and powerful that it doesn't even need words, that what I like. I have my own instrumental stuff as well (you can find that under the creation station link or check out my WWW)

I highly recommend Life formed though, check out the songs "cider time" or "upside down stalagmite"

New Carpenter Brut video is gorgeous to go with it's cool tunes

Speaking of this genre, there's the new Perturbator to look out for, hopefully it's decent. Dangerous Days wasn't as good as I Am The Night. Check out a song - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nd77RcjjprU

Last year, Gunship put out an outstanding album, top 10 for me and their videos are some of the best -

Fight For Your Life
Revel In Your Time
Kitsune

One of the vocalists the band collaborated with is a big Berserk fan and they used the 97 anime for the video of the song - Black Sun On The Horizon

Perturbator came across as a really awesome artist. I need to check him out. Industrial crowd back home seems to love him.

I've been working on music reviews for fun, just to work on my writing a bit since I'm a huge music fiend. This is what I've been listening to the last few weeks or so:

Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique

PIG - Sick City / Shit for Brains

Ashes Divide - Keeps Telling Myself it's Alright

Atrium Carceri - Reliquiae

Start with I Am The Night and then Dangerous Days. If you like that style, you'll dig Dan Terminus who put out a standout release last year.

Nice, good luck! Huge fan of this artist and my favorite album from em is Seishinbyouin. Cryo Chamber's an amazing label, I own everything they've put out but it's hard to keep up.
