Your own Dragonslayer

I haven't received an update yet, but I guess they're already working on it since it should be done by the end of August.
The boss of the forge already ordered the materials several weeks ago, before he went on holidays to Greece for a few weeks, and they couldn't start making it in the meantime, cause he wanted to lead the manufacture by himself cause he liked that idea that much. :serpico:
He even read up on Berserk to get an idea of the story and the details about the sword, so I think he'll put a lot of effort into making it very authentic.

Wow, the boss sounds very professional about the whole thing. Cant wait for some pics of that beauty when its finished.

Sorry, I was quite busy last week, so I couldn't give an update.
Since I didn't get any message that it was done last week, I called yesterday and he told me that it will take another week because one of his suppliers hasn't delivered one of the parts yet (let's believe that he's telling the truth :schierke:). It should be done by next week. If not, he'll feel the wrath of Guts. :guts:

I can't wait to see how it turns out. I had a deal with a guy that turned out to be a bit of a flake to manufacture a Dragonslayer replica, luckily no money had changed hands before he started showing signs of potential scammage.

Good luck I hope you get more than you have been dreaming of!

It's here!

It's finally done! One month late but it was worth the waiting.
I went to get it on Thursday and what can I say. It's just awesome! The forge really is in a small village up in the mountains in the Austrian Waldviertel, very nice and old-fashioned and it took us quite a while to find it. ;)
I was so exited that I forgot to take many pics of the forge itself but here's the first pic of the Dragonslayer: http://alieneye.net/pub/berserk/dragonslayer/IMG_2079.jpg (It might take a while to load).

I'm currently very busy with preparations since university starts again tomorrow so I got hardly any time to get to the PC. I will try to put up more pics later today or during the next days. I'll also try to provide you with some facts on measures and weight (it should be around 25kg and I can tell you that you can't wield it without help).

The Dragonslayer is currently standing in my room and distracting me from everything I try to do. To make it perfect I just gotta find some cloth to wrap around the hilt. Any ideas? :)

Congratulations, it's pretty neat! The best DS replica ever made to this day. The proportions look about right too. It might be a tad too wide, but you know... Whatever. It's beautiful. The smith you went to certainly deserved his money, he did a fantastic job.

GORGEOUS, the smith really did the deed. I guess the wait was well worth it.
P.S. Please post some more pics when you get the time.

One thing that I forgot to mention and that I'm not really happy with is the top where the hilt is connected to the blade. There should be that brace that holds the blade itself. As you can see it's on the sides (the semi circles) as it should be, but the top is flat. I'll probably get this fixed some time soon, shouldnt be too hard. When I get back to my PC I'll upload pics where you can see it better.

Yeah it might be a bit to width, haven't measured that yet. The height is ok, it's 215cm as we estimated.

Congratulations !!!! I thought it would be more heavy...
I think the one i'm crafting with wood and fiberglass will look ridiculous... :judo:

I could've made it of full steel, then I would need a crane to lift it and a huge credit from my bank. ;)
I'm eager to see what your Dragonslayer will look like. Any estimation when it will be done?

That's good for the height, and overall the sword doesn't look out of proportions so it's fine. :serpico:

I'll try to provide some better pics as soon as possible, but I'm probably not at home the next two days. Please bear with me. ^.^;

Very Very cool man! Congrats for being the first person I have seen that made a thread saying they would do something huge, expensive, and out of the ordinary and actually following through with it! The final product looks awesome!
