Maybe this relates to the 17th century pistol they gave to Danny Glover lulz.

Those guys must really not be feeling the economic crisis if they have time to come up with such retarded ideas.

And here are a few more: http://www.toplessrobot.com/2009/02/uh-oh_new_watchmen_clips_are_not_the_best_thing_ev.php
I have to agree with the author on the awkward way Ozy talks, just bizarre in a bad way.

I think I'll skip the theatrical release, and even more so, after it's now confirmed that they've cut out Hollis Mason's death scene.

Jesus Christ. Your post felt like an uppercut, and I was prepared for disaster. Hollis Mason's death is cut? Condoms and coffee as advertisement? Won't they stop at anything? But the worst has to be the trailers. Silk Spectre and Nite Owl are just so badass saving those people! :schierke: And Ozy's even worse than I expected. I didn't think it was possible. Did the actor have his wisdom teeth removed before shooting the scene or something?

Someone please tell me the condom bit is a joke. Seriously? Condoms?! Guys, I think we are in the midst of a dark age in cinema...

So far, i can't stand the way the actors deliver their lines. Nite Owl is the only one slightly bearable, but still flat and contrived. On the other hand, Rorschah and Ozy are god awful.

That rescue scene should've been clumsy, romantic and silly, as it should, with masked heroes in a realistic context, not a bland over the top action sequence with fireballs, rooftop breaking entrances, etc... -___-

Is this really surprising, guys? Ever since they showed off the casting, I knew these losers wouldn't deliver the lines properly.

I was actually previously looking forward to the movie. But honestly. I preferred the first trailer I saw during the Dark knight.
The more lines from the movie I hear the less I'm looking forward to it.

My interest in the film is waning. :puck:

True that, but even good actors can't hide false instructions. And Zack Snyder's obsession with slowmos makes it even worse.
Apparently Ozy's "actor" tried to mimic a german accent. Why? Who knows. The result is everybody who sees him will instantly think that he might be a villain and after he says something everybody knows that this Nazi bastard is the seed of all evil.

I found this last week but these impressions, from a first screening, didn't seem worth posting since they were written by an idiot. By the way, he enjoyed it.
http://latinoreview.com/news/exclusive-first-watchmen-readers-review-6166
1.  No Black Freighter, although we do catch glimpses of the newsstand and the kid who reads the comic, but only briefly.

2. The ending is different, no squid.  I was one of the people who never really cared about squid/no squid, but I feel the ending will work better for mainstream audiences that have never read the book.

3. They do not imply a sequel anymore than the book does...

4.  The montage covering the heroes of the past is done exceptionally well, and was longer than I expected.  Allows the audience to understand that this is an alternate version of the past and everything they know should be thrown out the window.

5. It is dark, but not the stark realism that fills the Dark Knight.  The Watchmen reality is a little more surreal in its feel, like a dream.  It really has the feel of the comic in it.

6. Look for the cameo by Snyder's son. He also played young Leonidas in 300.

7. It was fantastically close to the book; even the framings of shots were lifted directly from the book.

8. Jackie Earl Halley is the shit in this.  He IS Rorschach.

9. This movie is gory.  I'm a gore hound and I was surprised at how graphic some scenes were.  Really had people squirming.

10. NAKED Sally Jupiter. (CORRECTION NAKED Silk Spectre)

11. Only character I didn't like was Veidt/Ozymandias.  I thought the actor was weak.
Oh yeah, bring on the gore, Watchmen is a bloody feast; Now without sequel.  :schierke:

I have to say Snyder knocked this one out of the park.  There is some gruesome, brutal stuff here that is hard to watch.  The fight scenes are awesome, and, like in 300, Snyder continues the use of ramping the frame rate to accentuate the movements of the characters. I knew there was going to be some slo-mo, but I didn't think he overdid it. All in all, fans of the book are going to more than pleased with the film.  For a book that was for years considered un-filmable, he certainly managed to hit almost every beat and did not compromise any of the material (except for the squid).

Conclusion: If you like "300" and don't give a shit about Alan Moore's awesome graphic novel, you'll enjoy Zack 'Slowmo' Snyder's Watchmen.

You bet I'll be looking for it. I've pre-ordered two tickets just to be sure I wouldn't miss it.

9. This movie is gory. I'm a gore hound and I was surprised at how graphic some scenes were. Really had people squirming.

Awesome. Just like Berserk, Watchmen is only really worth it for the gore.

10. NAKED Sally Jupiter. (CORRECTION NAKED Silk Spectre)

HOLY SHIT THERE IS A NAKED WOMAN IN THE MOVIE ARE YOU SERIOUS? I'M GETTING PALPITATIONS.

2. The ending is different, no squid. I was one of the people who never really cared about squid/no squid, but I feel the ending will work better for mainstream audiences that have never read the book.

I'm more disappointed with 2. than the others. Fuck mainstream. That's a terrible excuse. I prefer unique over generic.

Uwe Boll on Berserk, the movie: "Griffith is no longer a member of the Godhand as they no longer exist. He simply killed all the members of the Band of the Hawk because he felt they were a weakness that would undermine his dream. I feel this will work better for mainstream audiences as they are already used to a regular barrage of shitty movies."

Aahh nice, looks like they've removed Captain Metropolis and made Ozy the rejected wannabe-leader. Could this be foreshadowing?! :isidro: Anyway, every scene in those trailers was done wrong somehow. The actors simply don't convey the right emotions, or they don't do it in the right way. And the SFX don't even look that good (disassembling of the tank).

I just read the Watchmen comics a few days ago for the first time. ( I said I wasn't going to but when I lost interest in the movie, well I had no reason to stop myself) I wasn't overwhelmed or anything. It was okay. The movie review sounds terrible though.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctor_Atomic
Doctor atomic is missing. And apparently never had a relationship with the Silk Spectre. Reference to Obama? Ozymandias and Dr."Atomic" wrestle while flying? And Ozymandias wants to start a war?

It's like they took all the major plot elements and flipped em upside down. :azan:
I don't think it's in character for Rorschach to try to warn the cops.

Sounds to me like you didn't read the same thing the reviewer or Snyder did.

Actually i'm glad that someone like you thought it was only "okay".

So anyway, time for an actual review of the Watchmen film.

It tries but it's nothing special. "First real flop of 2009"

That's a pretty bad review to be honest. It's almost as bad as Truth Media's, only the guy isn't joking. Apparently the Minutemen have been renamed the "Masks". A much needed improvement.

83% on the initial reviews? Wooow. Poor Watchmen =). These first few reviews are usually the guys who were paid to smile on them, and bestow outrageous praise to hype the nation-wide release.
