I almost always end up owning these games multiple times because of the Humble Bundles + constant Steam sales on these titles. At least the profits go toward charity!

Prepare to own them again, they just stepped it up a notch. Now for less than $6 you not only get VVVVVV, Crayon Physics Deluxe, Cogs, Hammerfight, and And Yet It Moves, but also Steel Storm, Atom Zombie Smasher, Cortex Command, Machinarium, Osmos, Revenge of the Titans, and Braid!

The only reason not to do it at this point is just in case they throw in some more 11th hour deals (or you hate children), but there's less than 24 hours left, so... SOLD!

You can snag a $5 copy of Hard Reset in an indie bundle going around right now: http://www.indieroyale.com/

Hard Reset was one of my favorite PC games of last year. Anyone familiar with old-school FPS games should definitely give it a try, particularly for $5.

It's more than a cool free game: in addition you also get free digital copies of the 124 page manual, the 200 page Fallout Bible, a bunch of artwork, wallpapers, avatars, and the freakin' soundtrack!

Forget all that though, everybody should download this regardless. Fallout is one of the greatest games ever made by any measure that matters or one can think of, from pure gameplay fun to the "games as art" debate. It's customizable open world gameplay makes the customization and "freedom of choice" in Mass Effect look like a story driven rail shooter, and Fallout 3 like the baby's toy on training wheels it is. Forget multiple character/story choices that amount to A, B, or C (which all equal D) and embrace "do whatever the fuck you want." Win the game with a smooth talker that almost never has to draw they're gun on someone or create a musclebound mute mongoloid and kill literally every man, woman, and child (yup) in the game world before calling it a playthrough (or just be a total dick). Almost nothing is sacred, so just because an NPC is in your squad doesn't mean you can't shoot them... or their entire village, including crucial plot characters (it's simple, if you kill them, they aren't important to the plot anymore, like life =). That'd be a shame though, because the plot and world is one of the game's best features on top of this, but God I wish more games were like this. This game, and the less balanced but massively immersive Fallout 2, make me a little disappointed in every game that's come out since.

When i saw that Infinte post was about Fallout i was honestly waiting for a reply from you Griff. I remember you mentioning in the Podcast that Fallout has been one of your favorite games. Well now reading your reply, i got to play it through, i can't wait till i get some more free time in my hands. How is the combat system ? The list of books i want to read and the games i want to play just keeps getting bigger and bigger.

The new Humble Bundle is a crazy, crazy steal:

-Limbo
-Amnesia
-Sword and Sworcery
-Psychonauts
-Bastion (pay $10 or more to unlock)

Pay what you want. Between $1-99999999. It's up to you. Unfortunately I already own them all so... no deal for me.

I actually bought it for $15 during a Christmas sale, but haven't played it yet. Typical of me :guts:

Here's what I bagged by the end of the sale:

Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet
Alan Wake Bundle (Summer 2012)
Unreal Tournament 2004
Shoot Many Robots
Qube
Batman Arkham City
Trine 2
Ys: The Oath in Felghana
Binary Domain

All told, spent just under $50.

Picked up Saints Row: The Third during steam sale. Very pleased so far. Its my first Saints Row game, but man is it way more fun than GTA.

L4D2 since it has maps from L4D1 where you can play as the old characters with the newer mechanics.

I played L4D1 for about 20 hours, and L4D2 for 499.1 hours.

Some of my most memorable multiplayer experiences ever were in L4D2's Versus mode (one team of four plays special infected, the other plays survivors). But it all comes down to who you're playing with. Pub crews can really wreck your experience, while decent, reliable players will make it truly amazing. That being said, if you aren't interested in multiplayer gaming at all, I don't think the series is very worthwhile. Single player is boring and straightforward. It's really not meant to be played that way.
