Haven't seen Francisco Goya mentioned yet.

I went to see an exhibition of some of his work (The Disasters of War) and I have to admit I was extremely surprised. Before going I knew only what I learned in school (mostly his majas) but some of the stuff there was very explicit and horrifying. I felt something similar to what I felt when I first read some parts of Berserk.

Yeah, a lot of the themes and imagery he draws on would look right at home in Berserk. Here's a collection of The Disasters of War as a matter of fact:

There's a poignant, twisted comedy to the titles of some of these, not the kind that makes you want to laugh though:

They do not want to

Nor they

And nor do these

Yeesh, anyway, this one looks familiar. :beast:

Horrible Monster

I suggest everyone take a look at the entire gallery.

Miura once mentioned (back in 1997) he was inspired by the work of M.C. Escher, and he is very good indeed, so had to put it in here:

Goya, Caravaggio, Dali and Schiele are all some of my favorite artists!  I'd also like to share these:

Louise Bourgeois
Shes 94 years old and still making art, I just love her work! I saw a retrospective of hers at the MOCA awhile back

I also like Edvard Munch

I just found out about Lee Bontecou today. she uses materials like steel, canvas and copper wire to make these very interesting compositions.

Vincent Van Gogh is an all time favorite, oh and how could i forget Donatello's David :casca: heehee:

Well lets see, I have several favourites.

Andreas Marschall

He's best known for doing album covers for Metal Bands, some of which happen to be my favourite.

Satoshi Urushihara

I Tired not to pick any of the pornographic pictures that he's best known for doing.

Audrey Kawasaki

I really love her work, very dark & errie

Alan Lee

John Howe

The both of them helped make excellent artwork for Lord Of The Rings.

Frank Frezetta

His work has always had a huge impact on me as a fan of Fantasy

Jean "Moebius" Giraud

I am a big fan of him the most, especially his work on Arzak.
