Guts' Armour

Guts, as the black swordsman, seems to 'add on' a specific part of his armour every time the story 'skips'. Like from when he defeats the Snake Baron and Snail Count, he seems to be wearing only shoulder plates, groin guard and breastplate.



But in Roshinu's cave, he gets knee guards and greaves.



And now, when he's fighting the trolls, he has hip and thigh protectors.

But hwere is he getting it from? I can't find an explanation on any Berserk site, but I think that he might 'stop off' at Godo's once in a while to get his weapons and armour fixed up? Does anyone else have an explanation?

Yesa, he gets an upgrade at Godo's place in volume 17.

The lost children arc is before he returns to Godo's house.

well i think miura just wanted to change guts' drawings of the first arc to something better ...

It's still hard to believe he survived the fight with the count with almost no armor at all.

true. on the other hand, it'd have been a quite unsatisfying ending of the manga, had guts died at that point. ;)
