WIP - Commission 1/8 Guts Berserker from Headlong

You might have wondered about the stretched eye lid on the severed head?

There's an explanation ..
Remember the crow I did for Zodd?

So, here's another crow (or, rather Raven)...

I begun by doing the armature to match the intended pose and fleshed out the basic form with my sculpting material of choice for this one; Super Sculpey:

Basic feather structure:

Done, feathers toned down and structured; pre baking and sanding/final touches:

And here's a composite of what it'll eventually head at (no pun intended):

I had wondered about it - now all becomes clear!

Excellent stuff Joa, really looking forward to the finished article.

Birdie Nam-nam ...

The raven is glued to the head and I added claws from bent, sanded brass rod.
They will be blended with the legs and painted...

And thanks for the kind words, ppl!

there will be grass, rubble and smaller rocks at the base of the pillars ..
And a round walnut base for that museum quality look. :carcus:

So .. well...

I'll complete the blood spatters with a few chunks of goo (especially on the sword) and some darker stains.
Else he's done.
The slab will be glued to the wooden base tomorrow and then it's touch up time before I pack him up.

Just putting in a few words of gratitude - Joa really outdid himself this time. I'll admit when I sent him this kit, I did not expect it to turn out like this. He took my request to a whole different level and then added icing on top. Bravo, Joa, bravo.

Looking at these pictures makes me want to re-read Berserk all over again. :beast:
