The Art of Vagabond: Sumi is amazing if you've looked at it.

Oh, I have...

Got it and Water both. Ironically, or perhaps fittingly, the only part I don't like about Sumi are the color pages. I'd rather they all be presented in their original black and white glory, no need to try and stylize it further, the beauty of the ink speaks for itself.

:carcus: Awesome. He always draws Baiken with gloomy colors, and an odd, eerie feeling surrounding him. The spiral is quite the burden!

Yeah, one of the more enigmatic characters in the series, and a favorite of mine as well. I was just thinking about his nightly dream at the end of volume 13, amazing visual storytelling.

That's one of my favorite threads ever, and that picture fits it perfectly.

One of mine too.

Yeah, it's pretty amazing. Both of them are, actually. I hope he releases another two or so when he finds some peace and quiet.

Yeah, he should do another two like them for the rest of Vagabond.

That's one of the best on that book. I even showed it to some family members when I got to it.

Yeah those felt weird in color. There is one painting, however, that I felt was awesome in red and black. It's Takuan's spirit (or is it Sloggo? :ganishka:) that scares Tsujikaze Kohei away. I can't remember the page, but it's before the middle pages. It's very strong with those burning colors.

I think that's very likely to happen, even if it's after the series is over. The only artbook he made for Slam Dunk only showed up once the series was over, so...

Yeah, I love the high contrast deep black ones, and he manages to merge fine and broad brush styles very nicely here too.

One I absolutely didn't like was the recreation of Musashi's battle with the Yagyu retainers, I guess the purple was supposed to make it like night, but I'd rather be able to SEE it. Speaking of awesome in red and black...

That's nice, but no Slam Dunk spoiler images, or I won't be able to post in here anymore. :ganishka:

Well, let's keep it rolling with the stunners, here's a nice early spread:

It reminds me of some of Miura's earlier Berserk art, during the first third of the series or so.

Aaah, the good old days. Musashi in his wildest form!

Here's that huge painting, now on the cover of the new edition of Brutus:

Too bad it doesn't have the whole thing, I hope it folds out. Oh well, I like the building sized version better anyway. :guts:

Here's an old one I bet not everybody has seen, it seems perhaps Inoue's Musashi did all that reading from the novel after all!

My goodness! Where did you find that beauty?

I know it's been used a cover for early comic book style editions of Vagabond.

Here's a familiar one. :guts:
