This game is living up to the hype for me.
I'm not sure if the game deserves the 40/40 that Famitsu awarded it, but it's damn sure close to it. This game is 100% meant to have tons of replay value (note cut-scenes that revert back to real time seamlessly - you basically have to know exactly when things are going to happen or not get a platinum every level). You have to learn to recognize enemy attack patterns and dodge to activate Witch Time, taunt, and pump up your combo scores without ever getting hit. Bayonetta has a lot more gameplay depth than people give it credit for - it's not just all mashing and beating hordes of enemies up, especially on harder difficulties.
The story is decent. It's slightly discombobulated, but it makes sense in the end. Not the forte, I'll say, but the characters definitely make up for it. Bayonetta's sassy personality tickles my fancy and I really enjoyed the over-the-top ridiculousness of the entire game. It's really a bunch of un-abashed fun.
Cheers.
