Help me decide on my first Berserk statue!!

Awesome site!! I'm a huge BERSERK fan. I'll get into my past later but for now I need your help. I've wanted a BERSERK statue really, really bad since I first saw 'em years ago. I just never had the determination or money to buy one. Luckily I'm about to get my income tax money and I'm gonna blow it all on something I want. I just don't care anymore

I NEED a Guts statue before I buy the farm. Can anyone point me in the right direction? These 2 statues on eBay are the closest I've found to what I want. I really would love to have a special statue but I don't know where to look. Here are the links...

This one is great. It's resin and everything, but IDK if it's anything special. I don't think it's numbered or anything.

I don't want to spend $200 for a plastic toy. What do you guys think I should do? Do I have anymore options?

Based on your links you like the statue of Guts resting his sword on his shoulders. It's also my favorite one as well!

There are a few things with that. First - The best Berserk statues page is http://www.berserkstatues.com/ Go there and click on Statues to see a lot of options of Guts.
The Moderator of this Berserk Merchandise page is Derek *DirectDK*. He has put a lot of information about the different statues and models.
So go to his site > statues > guts > and look for "Guts: Black Swordsman: Episode of Birth Feast (Limited Edition - Bloody)"
There will explain the different versions based on your links.

So the thing is when it gets to serialized statues like the one he purchased, they can be expensive because only limited amounts were made.

I have the same one as Derek - limited heavy blood - and it is my favorite statue! I just looked on ebay and yahoo japan for ya and the only one I see on sale is this:

But the above link is asking for too much money, if you wait enough you'll probably find it for about $400 - $600. These are Resin based statues and not the PCV. I don't have any PCV statues so I can't really comment on them but if you want to pay a less then you can go with those.

Also you can go to the official manufacture http://www.art-of-war.co.jp/english/ and click on Berserk Sold Out to see all the different types of statues there are.

So going to ebay and searching for "berserk" then click the price to highest price is a good place.
Also go to Yahoo Japan by going to www.rinkya.com and type berserk then click "Berserk All Items"

Same thing, go there and click on price and sort by the highest is what I do. The thing with Yahoo Japan is you can't directly buy through there and you have to go through a 3rd party.

Derek's recommendation is to go through http://m-world-service.com/ where you e-mail the guy on the auction you want and put a deposit it. He then bids on the item and if you win he will ship it to ya (more information is on his site) I've used this service and saved a TON of money, even though you have to pay shipping from Japan to the United States the statues are typically cheaper through Yahoo Japan.

So I hope this helps. I'm sure Derek will be replying soon with his feedback too!

But yeah, Just keep looking at ebay, Yahoo Japan every few days and I'm sure the resin ones will show up. There are a bunch of PCVs out there (normal, limited, bloody..etc) and I'm sure they are great. I was originally gonna get one for $100 - $200 but I decided to go ahead and get the resin limited edition ones for the collection of it. Hope you find the Black Swordsman Episode of Birth Feast! (as far as I know, Birth Feast edition is the only one that Guts is posed like that that is resin. The rest that are posed like that and doesn't say birth feast is PCV.)

The PVC Guts is pretty good, especially if you're on a budget.
There's really nothing wrong with the material, except that it warps much more easily than polystone resin (which most Art of War statues are made of). And when I say warp, I mean it'll be in very good shape unless you leave it in the sun or something. I have a bunch of PVC statues that go way back and they still look great.

Also, do NOT get the bloody version of the PVC Guts. It looks like someone spilled grape juice on him.
