Episode 314

Intense battle to come!
the two humans tentacles looks weird... correct me if I'm wrong but they seem to speak so I wonder what they are saying?

Nice metaphor there! :ganishka:

"The Submerged Dutchman" is back. Only this time it's... "The Climbing Dutchman"?

I'm imagining the ship walking on giant crab-legs, but if that's true it should probably have moved sideways, heh.

If I'm looking at the panel you mean, I think it's Guts speaking. And the tentacles who still look half-human are probably not fully transformed yet.

Yes, you're right about these two points, I got a doubt.

I'd imagine if anything is going to appear, It would be the Sea God...since it's his ceremony and all.

But who knows, maybe he's just a very strong apostle in disguise. But most likely an evil Sea God stirring because of the new light brought into the world.

I wouldn't be surprised if we got to see some moonlight boy sometime soon, though.

Probably someone must lead the process of ceremony as the Sea God's "priest". Both ceremonies before, Esclipse and Albion, had a need in human sacrifices. At least one of the group is in danger, or a pack of happy dancing sailors, or villagers should commit ritual suicide. who knows

Sorry but that's not a very appropriate comparison. The context is completely different. And I wouldn't really call the beherit apostle a "master of ceremony" either; he played an important role at the time but the events had been set in motion at another level altogether.

Anyway, you probably shouldn't focus on the word "ceremony" too much. As a matter of fact, so far there doesn't seem to be much of a ceremony going on. I guess Guts' group could be captured by the enemy and brought inside the cave to be sacrificed, with Schierke, Isidro and Isma having to dash in to save them in the nick of time... But I have a difficult time picturing it. For all we know, the ghost ship might have come out of the cave in the first place. If they defeated the ship and then ventured deep inside the cave to confront an even bigger monster though, that could be very cool.

Uh, actually I think it's pretty safe to say that no, it's not an apostle in disguise.

That's assuming the Sea God itself isn't already in control, which might very well be the case (the worlds have merged and it's the full moon). Besides, the villagers seem to have all transformed already. That leaves the few pirates left on the ghost ship, but at this point I don't expect much from them. No, the real deal is clearly what's inside the ship.

We know. Everyone not under the control of the Sea God is in danger. That was made very obvious in the previous episode, and what we've seen of this new one only confirmed it. No need to even bring in any ritual.

We have also seen that those, who are under the control of the Sea God, are in danger as well, namely being cut in half by a giant slab of iron :guts:

Man oh man, reading these last couple of posts has got me super excited for episode 315! Let alone this full episode.

This is going to be awesome.

I mean real victims, blood should be spilt. Or why was bartender so hospitable? :troll:

praise be to grail!
The bartender was hospitable in order to not stir up any worries in the potential victims while the other villagers prepared to attack.

They need heavy duty magic or an entity/entities of equal power to the sea 'god' to get out of this one...

Why? Because with Guts, Serpico, and Schierke, plus the unknown abilities of Isma (I think that's her name), they basically have all that already.

I didn't think I had to spell it out, but I was referring to Schierke and Isma with "heavy duty magic or entity." My point was that plain combat (probably even with Guts using the Berserker armor) won't be enough. Guts/Serpico can take out several, but there's a small forest of those monsters, and who knows what is inside or will manifest in the huge pirate ship. Guts is already hard pressed (had to use and hurriedly reload his cannon so soon and obviously not going to be able to keep up unless he gives in to the armor) so again, they need heavy duty magic (obviously from Schierke and/or Isma) or some other spiritual entity/entities (mermaids, etc) that are as powerful as the 'sea god.' Someone else speculated about Guts's/Casca's son, and he did show up on a full moon next to the ocean before, so maybe he'll show up...maybe he's more powerful since the merging of worlds.

I really don't think that Moon child would appear again right now...based on how the story is developing the merging of the worlds is still not completely described yet. What I guess would happen is that what Isma's father said to her before dying. As for Guts not being able to stand before those monsters..I guess you are underestimating our hero..man, he only had to give in to the armor due to his incomplete healing and severe wounds before but now I think he could go all the way till dawn fighting.

I doubt the Moonlight Boy will show up. I'm not saying it's impossible for him to go anywhere without Zodd, but I just don't think it fits the story right now. As for whether or not Guts will give into the armor again, I think it's highly likely, since his wounds from Slan are not fully healed yet and he will be facing a very tough enemy soon enough.

Oh man, some good ol' Guts killing monsters action. I'm glad to see Farnese making use of Schierke's thorns, and even Roderick got some good blows in! Like usual, Magnifico shows off his huge face with some great expressions too... :magni:

holy crap awesome
Always nice to see Serpico kicking ass. Cool to see Farnese's lil buddies come back into play too.
And Roderick continues to be quite ballsy as well, go him.

This one was very exciting! That double spread with Guts blast/slicing the ugly monster is the best thing on god's green earth.

These tentacles are starting to make me feel bad, look at their eyes. They're always almost crying. Such a sad existence.
